Score from 231 reviews Very good
cozy, comfortable enjoyed our stay & scenery of hotel quiet, able to sleep experience for my child as far as history goes along with the hotel would probably stay there again
same items on buffet every day, a little more diversity would have been nice. Although, food was good. also, wasn't real thrilled with quality of towels, etc for the kind of hotel it was. just had water bottles. no coffee pots, etc.
The beds in the room were unbelievably comfortable. The decor was original and beautiful. The conceirge Kevin was so helpful. Location was pretty good
The housekeeping was poor and the cleanlieness of the rooms for the star rating was not up to scratch. The window in our room didn't stay shut at night and so it was very noisy. It was an old hotel so therefore tired which is ok but some maintenance needs to be done
down town of LA is dead in night
very friendly helpful staff stylish old décor v charming good location comfortable room
wifi abysmal -and had to pay $10 a day!
The bed The grandfather-aged furniture The $42 per day valet parking fee
Anticipated my every need..
Old outdated rooms. TV didn't work - seems nice but a dump that needs a redo
No in-room tea or coffee. Club Lounge no longer provided the advertised breakfast & evening hor doueves
Old and shabby.
Staff was extremely professional and polite. Common areas are gorgeous. Location downtown was nice.
My room was huge, but the bathroom was tiny...even for a historic hotel. Brown water from the tap at first. Also, the bathtub sink was partially clogged so it filled with water forcing a quick shower. Definitely needs a "refresh".
I am a smoker requested a smoking room
Never again the smell of stale cigarette smell was over powering
location of downtown
Good location very confortable beds
Close to metro station, beautifully decorated
Staff were not helpful and was disappointed that there was no free wi fi
Good value and access via car to many destinations.
The vintage areas of the hotel are great, but the rooms need updating and has an overall tired appearance. The workout equipment in the gym area are ancient and difficult to use.
Elegant and lots of history. Staff friendly and great location for concert hall. Bar is great for food after concert.
While some previous reviewers have complained about it, I loved the "vintage" air of the hotel. Yes, it's not in perfect shape but it speaks volumes of a passed era. Not sure I would like everything new. Bathroom was small but it had marble on the floor. I guess it was the design of that time. Amazing common spaces (lobby/s, ballrooms etc.).
No reason why wi-fi shouldn't be free. The restaurant had been redone but unfortunately was a kitsch. And a monumental one.
The bed was comfortable.
Room was as cold as an icebox. There were digusting stains everywhere (on beds, chairs, and floors). Shower curtain was dangerous, continueously wrapped itself around me. Radio did not work. Booked a King bed room, but got a Two queen bed room. Parking was so expensive! $45.
The Staff was AMAZING! The Location was perfect if you have a rental car and traveling around LA. The lobby was great and features of the hotel itself (not the room) AWESOME!
The Double room as kind of run down a little for the price that we paid. The bathroom was pretty small and the shower not designed well as we always had to put towels down to keep the floor from being wet. I can honestly say that I have stayed in other hotels for less with better rooms, amenities and great location. It was not what I expected but again we definitely paid for location because it was the perfect spot for where we needed to go via car rental.
Old tile work Lobby Gallery Bar
Small room Horriblely small bathroom that needs a major update Horrible check in process
very expensive fee parking ($42/day) Paid Wifi
Lobby was really gorgeous. I saw it in many dramas and it was really exciting.
The building was really old and historic-cultural place. So I understand the room's oldness, but there's no special good point if I consider its price.
lobby, swimming pool
the bed was to soft
