location of downtown
Good location very confortable beds
Close to metro station, beautifully decorated
Staff were not helpful and was disappointed that there was no free wi fi
Good value and access via car to many destinations.
The vintage areas of the hotel are great, but the rooms need updating and has an overall tired appearance. The workout equipment in the gym area are ancient and difficult to use.
Elegant and lots of history. Staff friendly and great location for concert hall. Bar is great for food after concert.
While some previous reviewers have complained about it, I loved the "vintage" air of the hotel. Yes, it's not in perfect shape but it speaks volumes of a passed era. Not sure I would like everything new. Bathroom was small but it had marble on the floor. I guess it was the design of that time. Amazing common spaces (lobby/s, ballrooms etc.).
No reason why wi-fi shouldn't be free. The restaurant had been redone but unfortunately was a kitsch. And a monumental one.
The bed was comfortable.
Room was as cold as an icebox. There were digusting stains everywhere (on beds, chairs, and floors). Shower curtain was dangerous, continueously wrapped itself around me. Radio did not work. Booked a King bed room, but got a Two queen bed room. Parking was so expensive! $45.
The Staff was AMAZING! The Location was perfect if you have a rental car and traveling around LA. The lobby was great and features of the hotel itself (not the room) AWESOME!
The Double room as kind of run down a little for the price that we paid. The bathroom was pretty small and the shower not designed well as we always had to put towels down to keep the floor from being wet. I can honestly say that I have stayed in other hotels for less with better rooms, amenities and great location. It was not what I expected but again we definitely paid for location because it was the perfect spot for where we needed to go via car rental.
Old tile work Lobby Gallery Bar
Small room Horriblely small bathroom that needs a major update Horrible check in process
very expensive fee parking ($42/day) Paid Wifi
Lobby was really gorgeous. I saw it in many dramas and it was really exciting.
The building was really old and historic-cultural place. So I understand the room's oldness, but there's no special good point if I consider its price.
lobby, swimming pool
the bed was to soft
A little too expensive
Downtown Location Historical Building Style
Wi-Fi Speeds (or lack thereof) Thin Walls and Ceilings Parking Options Dated Bathrooms
I loved the historical aspect of the Biltmore hotel in Downtown Los Angeles. The staff was wonderful and worked really hard to make better the situation with the noise in the room we were assigned to.
The location of the room overlooking one of the terraces during a wedding was horrible. The wedding went long into the night, and except for changing rooms, we tried everything we could to mitigate the music noise.
The swimming pool was like being in a retro movie.
The LA traffic noise came right through the old window.
Beautiful lobby, nice staff
Paid wifi, not good security. We were stalked by a man into the hotel..downtown LA is really dangerous and the hotel didn't do a good job in security
The feel of the hotel and the amenities along with the professionalism of the staff always on hand to help. There was one concierge believe her name was Nicole she was particularly helpful and efficient in all her duties and she offered service with a smile at all times. Excellent to see in a well ran hotel.
The only downside was the elevators seemingly only two of six functioned this made for travelling from a higher floor very slow and isn't great when urgently going about your business or leisure.
No evening hoes d'oeuvres for club rooms. No bathrobes though I had to ask for it. Wifi supposed to work free in the club rooms and did not so I had to pay for it. Heater didn't work.
loved the atmosphere of the hotel and the history. Valet was extremely polite. check out employee was not caring and seemed very put off concerning our unfortunate stay. With all of the competition in the hospitality industry in LA. it's a shame staffing is not more accommodating
when we arrived back to the hotel at 2:00am. There were no lights in the lobby. Security took us up a back freight elevator to our room. Our room had no electricity and extremely hot. We had to sit outside of the lobby for 25-35 minutes waiting on repairs and maintenance. Very put off with the lack of concern upon checking out. I took my husband here for leisure and embarrassed with out visit
Room smells, restroom dirty, not even have a mini bar, and the service is definitely the worst I have ever seen.
The staff was very friendly and helpful with check in and check out.
The water faucets worked poorly and it was hard to control the temperature. The carpeting did not look clean and lots of stains. There were not enough outlets for curling irons, phone chargers, flat irons. I had to crawl under the desk to reach the only electric outlet in the room. I have stayed at smaller outlet chains for a much better price - more outlets for business travelers, a refrigerator etc. The only reason I stayed here was the Arthur Murray function. I would not stay here again. It is a beautiful hotel - but the rooms for guests are small. I could not open the draws under the TV as the bed was in the way.
My door key never worked. One of the hotel staff came to open the door but the. When I tried to leave my card key still didn't work.
