Great location. It is at Michigan Av. You can walk to the city. Room and bath are clean. Bellmen and concierge personnel are very helpful and valid; I cannot say the same about personnel at the reception. Check-in first at 15:00 while check-out latest at 12:00. Personnel at the reception do not have idea about some services like e.g. shuttle to the airport. They provide wrong informations causing troubles to their customers. Internet is not for free.

Location and soft mattress The rooms are extremely small. The air conditioner could not cool the room and it leaked from the ceiling which makde the carpet wet. The hotel staff had to be called twice to take care of the problem. They worked on it while we were out and when we returned, it was leaking from a different sopt. This was obviously a problem they knew about because you could see the water damageon the ceiling. They should not have rented this room out knowing it needed repairs. We were too tired to check out when we came back for the night so we slept in a hot room with a constant dripping noise on our anniversary. You do NOT want to stay here.

I enjoyed th comfort of the hotel and the layout. I wasn't happy about one of the bell man. He was very rude to me and my friends about helping us with our luggage when we were getting ready to leave. He ruined my trip because it made me want to leave and return home and never suggest that hotel to anyone. He treated us as if we were low class guest and that he would rather help some who had class and who would tip him better. He was snatching our things from us. After we got upset and asked him to leave and took our luggage down ourselves there was one bellman (black gentleman) who was kind to us and helped us out. i understand they work on tips but that was no way to treat a guest at a hotel. When he first helped us we had a long trip and didnt think nothing of it when we didnt tip him.I just thought I would put this in here becaue I am sure we were not the first ones to be treated like this,

I loved the hotel room. It is old and full of history, yet renovated beautifully. We booked the standard king bedroom but was upgraded to the 1 bedroom king suite, which was lovely and welcoming surprise. The bed was extremely comfortable, but the bathroom was my favorite part. It was bright and beautiful, with a jet tub and rain style shower head. Overall it was a great experience at the hotel There was a random stain on the carpet in the living room area, and the pillows were a little too soft for my taste

Staff were very professional, did their utmost to resolve any issues that occurred and extremely friendly. Hotel location is convenient for Shopping and the decor is stunning The breakfast menu was limited in choice for a European who does not require "huge" portions. No Restaurant on site forced me to eat in the Bar in the evening and the menu was limited

This is a very nice hotel with great beds and helpful staff with the exception of the man in charge of luggage storage. He seemed to be too busy and we felt we were putting him out to help us, even with a fairly generous tip that he did not even acknowledge.

The only reason for our stay was, we were guests at a wedding in the hotel ballroom on 10/29/11. Everything was fine. The fact that there was no steam room/sauna/pool facility.

The rooms were great. The bed was amazing. Plenty of room to work or just relax or both at the same time. The elevators were a bit small, but otherwise I really thought it was a great place.

I love the historical feel of the hotel. Great location and price. We didn't spend a lot of time in the room but when we did it was pleasant. Beds were very nice. Hotel is in walking distance to all great points of the city. Room service was pricey, but they all are.

The morning concierge 10-24 gold coast chicago was not pleasant, actually rude, and directed us to an incorrect location which we had to pay a taxi to get to and then another to get to the correct location. Also on 10-24 touch up painting was being done in the lobby in the morning, so as I got off the elevator my arm brushed the wet paint - no notice as one got off the elevator. I watched as it happened as others got off also.
