location is fantastic
still a beautiful historic hotel, but needs updating of finishes.
Location Room was clean
No room service Paying for wifi Coming back to the room at 5pm and the room wasn't made up Trying to print my boarding pass but the printer was broken. Reception told me to email & they would print and have it waiting at 5am the next morning when I left but it hadn't been done. Would not go back.
Bar and music
The hotel bar was nice, as was the staff. Bed was comfortable. Room was clean. Elevators were cool. Pretty historic hotel.
I did not like the shower. The water never got hot or even what I would call warm. Did not like the rain showerhead feature.
The location is excellent located near the magnificence mile. In addition the room was very comfortable and the staff was great!
Staff were very knowledgable and professional. Bed SUPER comfortable. Recommend the suite.
Basic cosmetics needed. Carpet in hallway needed to be replaced. Only three small elevators so you might wait a bit to get down to the lobby.
Parents had room 1021 which was an excellent room and a good bed.
The bed in room 300 was very poor and the room looked a little beaten up compared to room 1021 that parents were in.
If you can walk near everything. ie art institute, lots of shops and food.Traditional hotel with history. Lobby music and cheap drinks/tapas on a Thurs.
didn't have a bath.so ask for one otherwise nice shower
charming and romantic weekend needed and was found at the Knickerbocker!
I booked a king room last minute and upon arrival they upgraded me to the presidential suite. No extra costs. Dry cleaning service was super fast and staff was very friendly. Clean room as well.
Wifi connection was a little hard to connect at times but not a deal breaker.
I have come back to the knickerbocker many times because of the hospitality. One of the best hotels in downtown Chicago area!
Wifi isn't free.
The staff we encountered were very friendly and open to any questions. The concierge desk was superb with direction, advice and booking side trips. Great awareness of restaurants and nightlife.Management has surrounded itself with a very capable staff!!!
Given the cost of the rooms one would expect wifi to be in all rooms at no expense. Ten dollars per day for a few minutes use is a little over the top in my opinion. Wifi in the lobby was free and accessible but inconvenient.
The location of the hotel was perfect .Staff were just so good you could ask them anything and they went out of there way to help you.We would definitely go back .Highly recommended Janet and Michael from Ireland
Staff were extremely attentive and excellent...... especially Craig the bellboy who was wonderful!!!
Great location for shops and restaurants. Just off the main drag so reasonably quiet
Noisy fridge in room, easy to unplug!
Beds were very comfortable and housekeeping very pleasant.
Our breakfast was a bit difficult to get across and the choc chip pancakes on site are really M&Ms so settled for something else. May suggest some guten choices. More updated and current.
Friendly helpful staff
Wifi was poor quality and you had to pay for it. One elevator was out of order resulting in a 10 minute wait and a stop at every floor!!
The area is the best. The gold cost, magnificent mile and the tower just 5 minutes walk. The room was clean.
On the check out day the maid 2 times knocked on the door between 10 and 10:45am. When we checked out and asked a lobby man store our luggage until we pick up afternoon. He told its free service but we have to give some tip when we pick up the luggage. Its awful.
Location was convenient. The rooms were clean. The lobby is pleasant and comfortable. The concierge on duty on the morning of checkout was gracious and funny.
My biggest complaint is that the hotel charges eleven dollars for wifi. That's outrageous in this day and age. The guy at the front desk was sympathetic to that. The woman when I checked out was just plain ungracious. Did not get my money's worth. Waiter at breakfast was faking it. Obvious he doesn't like his job.
Everything Staff friend and helpful Good Location Nearby Restaurants/Bars
The Bed Staff is great
The room size
The location is excellent, very close to the Michigan Ave shops and also to Oak St Beach. Very friendly staff and excellent service. You feel that you are appreciated by the staff.
I had no problems with this hotel.
From the moment that we arrived until the moment that we drove away was an enjoyable experience. Everyone exceeded our expectations. The room was well appointed and very comfortable. The bed was so comfortable and that that tub with the massage jets was just what I needed.
