The hotel is too dark Not a bad location, but not the best
The hotel was very clean and up to date. All of the staff was courteous and professional. Our room had a great view of the river. It was extremely clean and the bed was very comfortable. I feel that this hotel deserves it's 5 star rating. We will stay here again when visiting the cuty
THE CLEANING DEPT WERE AMAZING. COMFORTABLE ROOMS.
FRONT DOOR MEN / VALEGUYS. ALSO POOR SERVICE FROM THE LUGGAGE PEOPLE.
Rooms in renovated West wing very nice and comfortable
Pool needs renovation
Only the people at the entrance, handling luggage and the cleaners have shown courtaisie and professionalism. The location is the hotel's main asset
The long time spend at the front desk even for minor request. There is a need to have more people. Found bad the way they interact with clients sometimes without courtesy
The room as newly refurbished and clean.
The staff at reception were short tempered. There were sparse amenities for a five star hotel. Room service was not available 24 hours. No concierge. No Security - anyone could access the hotel. Decor in entrance and hallways was dismal.
Pay extra for restaurant with good views. Asked twice in advance for something a little extra for special occasion, our Honeymoon...Got nothing
The staff were very friendly, the room was great with an amazing view. The cooked breakfast was worth the extra money it was fantastic and set us up for the day.
We asked for recommendations for bars to visit and tbh they were rubbish. Luckily I was with a NYC native so we found some better ones. Remember to tip at check in or you get a bit of a lecture at check out.
Everyone was so friendly , our room was upgraded at no charge . Out view was amazing , highly recommend your hotel .
Calmness and sea view
- Reception/laundry/Dining serviced take time to answer when you call from the room
When we checked out in the morning, the reception claimed that we had 3 items from the minibar. The fact was that we didn't have anything. The lady then said she would take care of it and revise the invoice and the invoice would be ready when we pick up our luggage in the afternoon. Of course the invoice was not ready, then we were passed on from one person to another. Finally the guest relations manager (Erica Kostic) came and said that everyone had gone home, she could not clarify what happened, she was unable to correct the bill and I should contact her tomorrow. I insisted that the invoice was corrected immediately, she then said she couldn't do it. I can only discourage everybody from staying at a cheating hotel.
bed is comfortable
some staff is not amiable
It didn't have a tub
The room, the view, the staff and the location was awesome.
Although a pool is listed at the facility it is only open a couple of hours during the day. The kids were very disappointed. The hotel offered to send us to a YMCA several blocks away, but what we were paying for our room "thanks but no thanks". We were also woken several times through out the night by loud guest, some banging on doors to get in.
I loved the room, very beautiful and spacious. Also, very helpful bell staff.
Boring breakfast option that came inclusive with room.
*The views were breathtaking. *The room furnishings were modern, clean, and comfortable. *Transportation was readily available.
Staying in Manhattan in August, I sought a hotel with a pool. Other than the YMCA, this was the only hotel that came up in my search. Traditionally, pool hours at all hotels I've ever stayed in range somewhere between 7AM-9PM. Perfect for weary travelers and those on business to get in laps either early, late, or both. Attending a conference for three of my five-day visit, the pool's hours of 10-12 and 2-5PM kept me from even getting to the pool until my last two days. But worse than the sparse hours was the pool itself. It felt like the neglected bad sheep of the family hidden in the attic. Although the water was clean and temperature was comfortable, as well as sporting newer lounge chairs, the tacky mirrors glued everywhere were filthy, smudged, old, and outdated looking. The faded rubber matting that surrounded the pool area, as well as the faded purple parachute that was draped above the pool was actually disgusting. The windows, both inside and out hadn't been cleaned in a really long time. Two neglected, dying plants hung from the ceiling. I won't spend time describing the snotty attitude of the pool attendant. I can't imagine the corporate owners of this chain of hotels could be proud of this neglected amenity in the upper east side.
Thank you Dorca at reception and Frank he first met us when we arrive with his loverly smile, you both are great, you are the best thing in this hote. If we will staty on this hotel again just for you. Thanks again Dorca for your great help when we arrived and when we checked out, you are really service mind person.
Many of the staff not helpfull and dont have enough info. We have been asked to eat breakfast at another restuarant due to powe shut down, but a lady at reception told us not to do so as it will be extra charge, she told us to go another place but we found the another place was closed. We went back to her and she asked us again to go to same place and we did but there they told us there to wait another one hour and they will serve only coffe. We decied to not ask same lady at reception again but instead we went to another one Dorca the helpfull person and shed told us to go to another restuarant instead where we found many other guests from our hotel. Dont understand why the another lady didnt tell us that??? The breakfast at the hotel was quite poor, not to much but it was OK and no variation and the place was very little. The gym is in another building which is big minus. The pool closed very early at 7pm.
We were placed on 40th floor and were able to see the aerial view of New York City
We didn't make use of the Restaurant
view of the windows
Strong Wifi, professional staff, nice room and facilities
Location New interiors of the room
The service from housekeeping to managers was appalling . Our glasses and cups were cleaned only once during our eight day stay. Every single day we had to phone reception upon arrival to ask that our glasses and cups be changed. ???? I thought this was standard?? I complained to management and it was different manager and all three of them would ask me to tell the story anew as there was no record of my complaint. We were instructed by a Chinese maid to take our own used shopping bags and dispose of them as she needed to open the cupboard . We reported this to management and there was not a single record. To me the hotel was a two star service hotel.
the bed , if we have to choose anything
very expensive with cold people, value for money very low. will never book it again
