A reservation team is present in the hotel. We booked the 2 hour guided kayak tour where you will see gators from the kayak. Excellent for us. The person of the reservation team recommended to visit the Shark national park as well as some of the boardwalks. Excellent recommendations.
We also did the “loop road”, which runs though the cypress woods. You can see many gators from your car. Take 2-3 hours for this 24 miles road.

We enjoyed the grass and mangrove airboat rides with Captain Jacks but the best activity we enjoyed is riding along the 20 Mile loop trail and all the wonderful wildlife we saw there. Alligators were laying along the banks sunning and crossing the road in the early afternoon. There were many many beautiful birds sunning along the waterway as we drove along. It was best for wildlife viewing and taking pictures where you could literally almost reach out and touch the wildlife.
Loved seeing the huge gators and multiple bird varieties in their natural habitat. The boardwalks along the Tamiami were wonderful too. We enjoyed our stay and the local restaurants during our stay. We will try the swamp buggy tour the next time and the boat trip out to Thousand Islands where we were only there for 3 days total.

The “cabin” was actually a refurbished trailer.
The “cabin” was actually a refurbished trailer. I could feel the rotting floors underneath the vinyl flooring. The door jam and frame was loose due to rotted wood and about 1/4 inch gap was between the door and frame. Only one large cockroach was found upon waking up on the first morning.

Great for visiting the Everglades and doing some tours.
Great for visiting the Everglades and doing some tours. There is a small selection of restaurants and I would suggest that you check to see if they accept cards when you arrive to avoid any issues as the internet connections are not always great.
We found everybody friendly and helpful and would go back to visit again to do some more tours and to relax as it is really peaceful

Quaint town, quiet when we were there.
Quaint town, quiet when we were there. Lots of options for guided tours of Everglades. Everglades Area Tours are a great company to go with.
Other options include airboats and parks to enjoy nature.
If you have kayaks or a boat, the sky's the limit in terms of exploration.
Plenty places to eat out for all budgets. Island Cafe is good.

very friendly staff who were open and friendly, telling about history of the area, the wildlife in the woods, as well as giving a great recommendation of a museum to visit on Chokoloskee Island, which we absolutely loved! The location of the museum was FULL of nostalgia and had a very peaceful view out the back with some rocking chairs to sit and watch a video of the "gator man" while enjoying the view over the water.
The room was comfortable, bathroom was clean and adequately sized. bed was comfortable.
This hotel is a lost gem. We were there on vacation with our family and the location, staff, room and pool were amazing. Everyone was so nice and accommodating. We had a fishing trip that would last past check out and they were very kind to extend our check out so we were not in such a rush. The cleaning staff was also very helpful, always asking if we needed anything and making sure we had enough towels. We will definitely return.
Pleasant hotel in convenient location to various attractions in the Everglades. The room was clean, spacious and nicely furnished, refrigerator and microwave included. Free parking on the premises or across the street. Close to restaurants and airboat tours. Staff was friendly, courteous and helpful. If you decide to go on an airboat tour with Captain Jack (which we enjoyed very much), you bet 10% off when staying at the hotel.
Most splendidly situated, from the terasse a superb view over lake and mangrove swamp. Excellent point of departure for visiting the wild nature of the Everglades. And no so far away from the Seminole tribe AH-TAH-THI-KI Museum. And closer, the historical Smallwood Store in Chokoloskee is worth visiting, with museum, possibilities for boat trips as well as fresh oysters and sea food.
it was so nice to sit by the water. the screened in porch was lovely. so comfortable and tidy. We can’t say enough about it. The cabin was modern, spacious, clean, nicely decorated and the bed was so comfy! What a perfect little hidden gem. Every convenience was within a mile, There was a grocery store, lots of places nearby for airboat tours, fishing gear, and good food!
A lot of Mosquitos in the area. (It is not their fault)
They don’t offer breakfast in the menu. I’m the menu they don’t have many options, but you can use the microwave into the room.
You must to go outside for look food or the near places and in the Everglades town all is closed 9:00 pm.
The bar es excellent and the workers there are so nice.
What breakfast? We liked the view of the river. Would have liked everything better if we had been able to get to Florida as planned but were delayed because of airplane cancellations. I thought we were going to have two queen beds instead of a bed and sleeper sofa; so the beds could have been more comfortable. Everything else was okay.
The main hotel building was really nice, with a Mexican vibe, the pool was great and bigger than expected. The restaurant was very good and great value with an amazing atmosphere. Lovely Marina wrapped around the hotel.
Fantastic motel in Everglades - look like in American movies.. Check in is 2 minutes by car from the motel itself – easy to find using GPS. Rooms are very clean. Very beautiful surroundings.
It's a basic hotel in a small town, but the rooms are comfortable. There is parking space in front of the hotel and a small pool. Very convenient to visit the Everglades area.
There was nothing to like about the hotel. No ice to be found but we had a ice bucket. No screen on the window. Very run down. People living on the first floor.
