Great location Cozy and inexpensive Barbecue available for guests Warm shower... nice... great after hiking up Katahdin & Knife Edge! The idea of communal kitchen and living room. A nice family owns the place. Mellow vibe. Close to downtown facilities (supermarket, pharmacy, gas station) Free wifi. Duvet comforters kept me warm. Very quiet and peacefull.
Communal kitchen was undergoing renos - no sink, no stove. A lot of content in the communal fridge would need to be thrown out - the fridge is clean but extra full of stuff many months past due (travellers should throw away when leaving, but a monthly "big sort out" by staff would also help free space for new guests)
Shower had plenty of hot water-much needed after long ride to arrive there- handicapped toilet much appreciated by wife;beds fairly comfortable with adequate covers and pillows
We arrived after dark-there was no outside lighting-had to walk across a lawn with tree roots, etc. to get to room in pitch-black darkness-no drive- up parking
Comfortable, basic cabin with fridge/microwave. Internet worked. Owner was very accommodating arranging late checkin and switching cabins at my request.
The room was fair. The price was good and we didnt spend any time in it, just for sleep and a shower so it served its purpose.
the bag toss the home made muffins the fire pit
Good private cabins, clean, great price
Great value and super nice family. The cabins themselves are basic but very clean and comfortable. And the location next to Baxter can't be beat! Would definitely stay there again next time I'm in the area.
This is definitely a low-end operation. The outside appearance is shoddy, the inside of our "Deluxe" cabin was tiny and non-functional. We forfeited our full payment and moved on.
Floors slanted, common room not well kept up, very dark in going from parking place to cabin. Hosts indicated that unused night would very likely be refunded, but did not.
The cabin for 3 was a little crowded and owners were very obliging to move us up to a 2 bedroom cabin which was great. Cabins are a short 1/2 hour drive into the magnificent Baxter State Park. A very special time had by us all.
Staff were very friendly
Little old, but clean cabins
The cabins were quaint, well-kept, and just what we needed after summiting Katahdin earlier that day!
Everything right down to the muffins.
Nice owners, clean rooms, good price. A certain retro charm. Not far from beautiful Lake Millinocket.
Bed could be more comfortable. (It didn't affect our stay, but would suggest the owners repaint the exterior of the cabins when they can afford to do so.)
Friendliness of owners; being in our "own" cabin; cookies and muffins daily treats, good bed.
No phone in cabin; cabin not winterized; no sign or street address number in front of cabins and gps doesn't work for this spot.
Cleanliness of the cabin, bathroom, and shower. Fresh linin and bath towels, Room had microwave and refrigerator. Easy parking and located in a quiet area. Location provided easy access to food, drink, gas, supplies and recreation.
We experienced no dislikes or problems.
This was the perfect place for our trip. Great location to be in town and still close to Baxter State Park. It was very clean and well maintained. We loved coming back every evening after hiking and relaxing outside and eating fresh baked cookies and muffins.
Convenient location for hiking Katahdin. Banana Muffins in the morning were great. Cost effective for the time spent.
Open copper wires in the shower from the hot water heater; I feel somebody will hurt themselves on them. There is a warning sign but there could be insulation/barrier around them.
