The location of the hotel is great. Its only maybe 10mins away from the Hershey attractions and dinning.
Well, this was my two year wedding anniversary. when I book the room I wasn't excepting what I got. When my husband and I arrived, the owners seem a little suspect. The owners let us seen their suit; which had a kitchen, fire place, a little living room, etc. But what they didn't do is let us seen our room we book and compare it to the suit. If they were up front about our booked room, we would have upgrade. So, their lost on that upgrade. The room we booked was a room not worth the $46. It was like run down motel room. The room was small, the bath room suck!!, we had to listen to other people running their water through out the night, THE ROOM WAS JUST NASTY!!! So, in short if you are looking for something quick and don't care what you might get, then this is the hotel for you!
Staff was very friendly and helpful. Room was small but clean . Bed comfortable and firm pillows.
In addition to the 11% tax there is a state occupancy fee $2 a night. I realize this is not the hotels fault but it should be disclosed at check in.
The mattress was the best ever. At checkout, the person was the best.
Registration was an envelope in a black mailbox. I walked into a room and would have left immediately if it were not already dark. I went in, it was dim and not my taste for cleanliness, but I went in.
I didn't like that we called the number on the door for help and no one answered. There was bed bugs in one of the rooms (rm 210) and the person at the front desk tried to insinuate that we were trying to get out of paying.
In our experience, we had no problems. The room was nice. Not dirty at all. Two beds. The water pressure was awesome in the shower. No issue with hot water. Bathroom very clean. It was quiet at night. Slept really well. The staff was amazing. They would go out of their way to help you. Very friendly. Easy to talk too. I would go back for that purpose. They were so good to us. The restaurant next door Dukes really good. Walk right over. Your minutes from all the Hershey attractions.
The only thing I didn't like was the door to the bathroom. It slid shut instead of closing like a regular door. Everything else was fine with me.
Unfortunately only thing I can say positive is the staff was nice.
The place was dirty and paint and wallpaper peeling off the wall. I have stayed many places and in many countries in my travels and this was one goes on the list of the worse. The place WAS NOT like in the pictures or reviews and as I was driving thru Hersheys I saw other places that looked more up to date the what appears in the reviews. If you are a truck driver or homeless this is the place for you. Since I have stayed in some tricky places in the past I honored the one night afte purchasing some air fresher and Lysol but canceled the 2nd night. The printer was broken so never got a receipt and still haven't seen the credit. It's a bed, that's about it, but not worth the money! Spend a few dollars more for a real up to date place or go a few miles away for a better place to stay, it would be worth the money, piece of mind and less the $20 for disinfectant and air fresher.
The rooms were under construction with old plumbing parts and supplies in the trash. The lights flickered off and on all night keeping us awake. We feared an electrical short causing a fire and injury. The housekeeping was poor and lacked sufficient towels and a trash can. We'll choose another motel on our return visit next year.
price good value for the money, comfortable bed
staff pressuring me to upgrade my room
It was very cheap, and available last minute. The staff were extremely friendly, and check-in & check-out was quick and easy. Updated furniture/tv. You pretty much get what you paid for, but it worked for the one night we needed to stay.
Very small parking lot. Peeling paint & wallpaper, some stains on ceiling. Most uncomfortable bed ever! The sheets had a damp/musty smell to them. The shower head was really low-I'm 5'5", and I had to duck under to wet my hair.
I travel fairly frequently and this happens from time to time so I hope the owners take notes to help their business. The beds where great very comfortable the room clean and that was what matters most to me. Glad I was only on planning for a one night stay the staff at the front desk was nice and efficient most likely the owner.
Very dated interior. Rugs needed up dating. The toilet wasn't properly anchored to the floor so that was very inconvenient. The bathroom floors where clean but also dated.NO HOT WATER only slightly warm so showering was not good at all. Just had a one night stay wouldn't have stayed any longer then that one.
Kathy- staff. She was very helpful and pleasant. She even took me to places I needed to go.
Nothing about the hotel but it was a little too far from Hershey Lodge to be convenient as there is no public transport except for the taxi.
Not much. Old, dirty, dated motel.
Asked for room receipt and told one would be mailed to us. Never received it.
The lady check us in was nice and try to help.
The owner. The room had a smell.(bad) the toilet broke in the room. All day couldn't get someone to fix it. Got told to walk across the parking lot to a restaurant/bar to go to the bathroom. Final at 7 something they move us to another room. At witch that toilet leaked all over the floor. Went back up and was told if I had to have another room it would have to be up stairs. My knees are bad so I don't climb steps. So we stuck it out.
that it was next to great place to eat. they let us check in a half hr. early.
no one came in to clean the room between the days that we stayed. The door to the bath room was pocket door that did not have a proper was to close off. badly in need of improvements. found out as we were leaving that they had coffee in lobby this would have been a plus had known about it.
It was a very bad room. Wallpaper peeling off. Drapes not secured well. Mini blinds half missing. Cover of the air conditioner heater fell off. No descriptions on what the buttons were for on the air conditioner. Parking cramped. Old television set
See the first review. Did not like much except they had direct tv
They did not clean anything when they made up the room.
The employees were very nice
we stay at the Chocolate Ave location, this was not as nice at the other location in Hershey. We didn't know a small town like Hershey would have 2 hotels with the same name. Good for basic shelter, better then sleeping in the car, but not much.
weird mold smell in the 3 rooms we looked at, dirty moldly shower curtain, light in the bathroom was falling out of the ceiling, many lightbulbs burned out in our room. Indoor chairs sitting outside the rooms in the complex. NO screens on any of the windows. needs alot of work.
The morning attendant was polite and helpful.
The office staff wanted to dispute what I had signed up for and wanted to charge me more. They also wanted $10 early checkin but when I went to give her my card she wanted cash for the $10. Had to ask several times for a receipt that finally got sent to my email after I left.
Looked like a good location, pool looked very inviting. Check-in was nice, we got a free upgrade on two of our rooms. The proprietor remembered that we were going to the concert and placed two of rooms close to each other.
Very loud air conditioner that wasn't doing a very good job. Incredibly loud flushing toilet. I can't really give an opinion about anything else because we checked in very late and checked out very early.
The hotel room pictures posted on the website were very deceiving from the real thing. The room was dark, small, crowded. The website stated that the Rodeway was associated with Choice, a hotel we've stayed at before, but there is no comparison.
During our second stay at Rodeway Inn, the staff were friendly and caring, the beds were comfortable, and the kids loved the swimming pool! The best part of our stay, though, was after a long day of keeping up with excited children who became tired and cranky as the night at Hershey Park came to an end, finding the girls' favorite stuffed animals arranged so cute on their bed on top of clean, freshly made linen, which brought their smile back until they fell asleep :)
There were a couple of hairs on the bathroom floor, and with me having a weird phobia of other peoples hair, that didn't sit too well, but overall our stay was excellent and we will be back each time we visit Hershey PA
I found the staff to be extremely polite and accommodating. They offered to help me up to my room with my bags.
location. Convenient to Hershey Park and Restaurants..
Room was not clean. Smelled musty. Tub dirty. Curtains were ripped, old, dirty. They were hung up verrrry poorly. Place needed update and cleaning!
Very clean but in need of tlc
Fixtures in the bathroom were broken, so were the lamp shades.
