We were close to the town of new paltz. The breakfast was included.
The place itself is warm and cozy, the staff are super friendly, very clean, very nicely decorated, great surroundings.
Would like to see a bigger breakfast offering, a few more items.
I loved the fact that there was an extra blanket for warmth. The shower was very nice. Our stay was very comfortable. We checked out Valentine's Day and was given two chocolate strawberries. The baked bread for breakfast was delicious.
The bed was the only bad review. My girlfriend and I have really bad backs and a bed that is SUPER soft is just horrible for our backs. I was in a lot of pain afterwards.
Close to some incredible hikes and right next to the ridge! The common area at the lodge is very cozy with tea and coffee and some warm couches and chairs and a fire going.
Shower head was way too high pressure. I'm all for high efficiency but these are like little needles shooting at you.
Felt cozzy and naturelike. Fireplace in eating area. Nice tranquil location.
A little overpriced for a small lodge. Bed and pillows were too soft. Showerhead was pouring water out sharply. No other setting to make water come out softer.
It was a lovely location and quite sure beautiful views in other seasons. Staff was wonderful. One review said night staff not friendly but we found not the case.
A little further than expected from exit. One towel in bathroom unclean. They were very apologetic though. No microwave/fridge in room but had one in common area to use. Was inconvenient.
We are from South Carolina and stayed at the Minnewaska in 2003 while touring the Hudson River Valley. We were traveling with friends this trip who had never stayed there and we were all very pleased with our stay. Beds are wonderful...not so fond of the pillows, but they are still fine. The staff is always super nice and helpful! We will return if we're ever up that way again.
nothing to dislike!
The lodge was very clean and well maintained. Would definitely stay there again.
outdoor fire pits, close too a really good German Restaurant
room was hot, no ac in hall or bathroom no top sheet on bedding breakfast cereals tasted old
Beautiful lodge, I loved the location, gas fire pits and the comfort of the great room. The staff was very friendly and the fresh baked cookies were a nice treat.
I had a clean towel, that had rusty stains on it ( thinking maybe old blood from a razor cut). It grossed me out. I will definitely bring my own washcloths and towels next time I travel... The wash clothes and towels seemed very thin and old.
Nice location. Loved the fire pits. The beds were very comfortable. Nice food set-up.
Noticed floor was not vacuumed from previous guest and again not vacuumed while staying there. Also sticky. The night staff acted like we were just an annoyance, but the daytime people made up for it. No coffee or tea in room. Tough in the morning when you don't want to go out before showering.
We loved the hiking trails at Minnewaska Lake. We also enjoyed the restaurants in New Paltz. The breakfast at the Minnewaska Lodge was excellent. We enjoyed toasting marshmallows in the evening at the charcoal pits.
Loved everything about the lodge! It is in a beautiful setting and so relaxing. The room and the lodge in general was the cleanest I've ever stayed in. When a hotel offers a breakfast it usually is not very good. That is not the case here. The food was fresh and delicious. Would absolutely stay here again!
Warm and friendly atmosphere.
Staff were all friendly and helpful. Breakfast was ample & delicious, as we're the home-baked cookies always available for snacks. Room was clean & homey and bed was very comfortable.
I had to carry my luggage up the stairs to get to my room.
Very friendly staff. Clean and comfortable. Just an over the top location, with a spectacular view. Came away with one of the most relaxed and recharged feelings
No restraunt on site... But no big deal.
Love the serene environment. It should be given 4 stars instead of 2!!!!
Check-in late night service was o.k. but clerk wasn't warm and friendly... just matter-of-fact and perfunctory. Would appreciate a warmer reception. Check-out clerks were stupendously, warm and knowledgable.
clean and comfortable
Rather expensive and not much charm.
It was very quite and peaceful
Heat was off,but it was warm enough to sleep good!
Being placed so isolated, one could expect some kind of dining offered. Closest restaurant Quote a drive away. A few smiles, and perhaps a simple "good morning" wouldn't hurt..
Excellent quality continental breakfast was included.
Relaxing - Great breakfast!,
Beautiful, quiet location. Very comfortable bed. Very friendly staff. Short drive from downtown New Paltz. Amazing value and we'll be back!
location/view, cookies & comfort
I love the breakfasts great food! And very clean place and cozy!
The only complaint I have is that in the great room where you serve breakfast etc., Its waaaay to quiet in there, it feels like we are in a library no one can talk comfortably because everyone can hear everyone elses conversations and the crunching of their food! I would suggest playing some kind of quiet music just to have some kind of noise level. I heard several people mention this fyi.. :)
