The neighbourhood did not seem completely safe, so they lock the front door after 10pm.
The breakfast was extremely poor---they had only bread, two types of cereals, butter, jam, apples, coffee and tea.
It was a bit noisy---I could hear when other guests were taking a shower, flushing their toilet or walking around.
Also, I complained that I could not lock the door from the inside---it was working when the door was open, but I couldn't turn it to the end to lock when it was closed. When I called the receptionist she first was surprised and tried to lock it by herself. However, when she saw that it doesn't work she said that it is like that since they have the new locks and it is locked just by closing the door. True it was locked and additionally they had a swing door guard, but I was not completely happy. Previously I was in a hotel where the same was true, but I could still lock the door from the inside.
They have a good price and it is a perfect place for an overnight, especially if you are travelling with a car since it is close to the highway. It is also good that it is close to the El Cerrito del Norte BART station, but I wouldn't like to walk alone in that area at night (I was either returning early or a friend of mine was bringing me back with a car).
They have a new furniture, but the overall look of the room and the hotel was still cheap to me, not like on the pictures here...
