not enough towels
The location is great. Right by the Del Norte Bart station and the freeway. Everything is within walking distance. The place was nice and I had the opportunity of sleeping in three different rooms while staying (no fault on their part). The first two rooms were wonderful but the last room was not up to par.
The room I stayed in had a nasty looking couch that really need to be taken out and the walls needed to be cleaned. In this same room the bed was very used and could have used standard pillows instead of throw pillows for the bed.
After finding ants in my bathroom I called the front desk, was put on hold. While on hold the front desk person started knocking on my door wanting to see the ants. Then she asked me if I'd had any food in the room because she has never had this type of complaint before. She left to talk to her boss who returned with a spray bottle of bleach water and a towel. The bleach was so strong I had to leave the hotel for a couple hours because my eyes were burning. The next morning I woke up with a headache, ants in my bed. I tried to iron my $200 pants and ruined them because the iron was leaking rust after I put water in it. When I was leaving I told the manager and showed him my pants. He smiled and shrugged his shoulders.
The room was clean and the bed very comfortable.
The hotel is located in a sketchy neighborhood with no restaurants within walking distance. Breakfast was minimal, and there was a sign on the door warning you not to remove any food from the room. So if you're in a hurry in the morning and just want to grab an apple and go, you're out of luck.
Our stay was lovely but short and only wish we could have stayed another day:( But the staff was great and very helpfull. Oh and also loved the coffee there!
Nothing to dislike!
I was in my room asleep and get a call from the owner at 2am. He threatens to call the police on me because there are too many people in my room. At the time I was alone, and during the call my friend who was sharing the room with me walks in with her father, aunt and cousin. So I had no clue what was going on and his first response was to threaten to call the police and state he didn't rent the room to "those people!" I will never set foot in that place again.
Beds were comfortable Secure inside entrance
Dirty on closer inspection.
Next time I will request a room on the "non street" side
I have no problems with staff, they were very helpful, room was clean well laid out
I would like to see a better complimentary breakfast, some eggs , bacon, potatoes
Very clean. They should serve better breakfast to attract more customer and stay competitive . All together very satisfied for the cost.
the location was close to what we needed. staff was helpful when available. basically good experience except could smell smoke and pot.
could smell smoke in lobby from first floor rooms also smelled pot clear out in lobby and by elevator. this was not good at all
*Good size room *Good desk/chair *Good bed *Adequate breakfast *TV lots of channels
*Noise in wall all night, couldn't sleep, think it's the heater from another room? *Bed pillows all really thick, I sleep on my side, so couldn't sleep with them *Terrible, sketchy neighborhood *Guy at front desk, seemed like owner, was not friendly
Spacious room, Free WiFi
Walking distance to a BART station.
The room was a nice sized room. the price of the room was also great
I was able to hear the noise from the neighbouring room the tile in the bathroom wasn't securein the first room the television wasn't working
Clean, good breakfast.
- Extremely close to the highway, still very quiet and soundproof. - Extremely kind, helpful staff. Room cleaned at any hour! - Clean and spacious room. - Free parking.
- No breakfast, but it wasn't a problem for us (and there are plenty of places nearby)
Location of property is good for Bay Area activities. Value is great.
Poor lighting in the room. Need new towels.
They have a good price and it is a perfect place for an overnight, especially if you are travelling with a car since it is close to the highway. It is also good that it is close to the El Cerrito del Norte BART station, but I wouldn't like to walk alone in that area at night (I was either returning early or a friend of mine was bringing me back with a car). They have a new furniture, but the overall look of the room and the hotel was still cheap to me, not like on the pictures here...
The neighbourhood did not seem completely safe, so they lock the front door after 10pm. The breakfast was extremely poor---they had only bread, two types of cereals, butter, jam, apples, coffee and tea. It was a bit noisy---I could hear when other guests were taking a shower, flushing their toilet or walking around. Also, I complained that I could not lock the door from the inside---it was working when the door was open, but I couldn't turn it to the end to lock when it was closed. When I called the receptionist she first was surprised and tried to lock it by herself. However, when she saw that it doesn't work she said that it is like that since they have the new locks and it is locked just by closing the door. True it was locked and additionally they had a swing door guard, but I was not completely happy. Previously I was in a hotel where the same was true, but I could still lock the door from the inside.
The place was clean, staff is friendly, breakfast is ok, fairly quiet, slept comfortably, and price was reasonable. If want to visit UC Berkeley then this is a short drive with options to take the streets if freeway is busy.
price is right, close to food, bart, great affordable bay area place to stay
Hotel was clean & close to Richmond highlights & a Safeway.
The person at the front desk was not very helpful. Note that if you book with bookings.com you cannot change your bed arrangement, even if there is another option available.
good starting point for SF, Oakland, winelands, Sausalito (e.g. 30 minutes drive to downtown SF, except rush hour), affordable and good value for money, clean rooms
Close to freeway (which some regard as an advantage), toll bridge to get to downtown SF, small breakfast room, breakfast is ... well ... I guess it is standard for continental breakfast in the US
