Loved everything besides the comfort of the beds!
Very uncomfortable beds.
Ms. Donna has been extremely gracious for all the help extended to us.
The suite 10 in which i have been staying have a pharmacy smell to it. Toilet has a cramped space.
Very cool decor, comfortable beds, helpful staff (by phone during the week). Location is great for funky Brooklyn neighborhood. Parking on the street turned out to be much easier than I thought.
Kitchen only has a hot plate that I don't think I ever figured out. Smell of paint in a stuffy room. Dark interior.
Room decor. Price.
Everything was pretty much as advertised.
We dealt with the staff across the street at the dentist office and they were wonderful. Very pleasant and helpful with whatever we needed. Suite was very clean. WIFI worked very well.
Parking as you can imagine was tricky. Had to drive around the block a few times to find a place to park. TV was tough to figure out how to use. (Not that big of a deal)
Suite 6 was a great fit for my brother and my husband and I. We enjoyed the quirky decor and the convenience of the kitchenette. The beds were very comfortable. The location, in a thriving non-touristy neighborhood, a few blocks from an express stop on the A/C line suited us well.
The temperature in the shower was hard to control, and could get scalding hot. There was no air-conditioning, and on a warm October day, it got quite warm in the room. Fortunately the windows could be opened wide, and there was a good fan.
It was quiet and we did sleep well, the reception, (not in building) was helpful with taxi to airport and left luggage. The water was hot and plentiful. Not the grandest of areas but the subway is nearby.
The room was poorly lit, the paintwork was dark and dated. The whole ambience could be improved by removing most of the overstuffed useless, antiquated furniture. On closer inspection I felt the furniture was there to hide the poor quality of the electricity points. The room sufficed to sleep in but we felt a need to get out as soon as possible, it was so claustrophobic. The room desperately needs updating. Assistance is purely office hours so don't go a weekends. No hairdryer in room.
The room with the balcony was really nice. We only stayed 2 nights, but the facilities were great for a longer stay.
There were minimal places to eat nearby.
The room is large and I love the kitchen. The traffic is also convenient.
The carpet in the room is dirty. The new bed in the room smells and made me feel headache. And wifi signal is also weak. Service hour is too short. When we have problems at night, we can find no one to help us. The room is not bright even in daytime. The location of the hotel is near to the airport. But the surrounding environment is not satisfying.
Free fast Wi-fi access. Microwave oven and fridge. Two big beds very helpfull for us with a baby since we used the one located in a corner. Silent room. Spacious
Located in a low class area Some towels had hair Window tottaly closed Could be refurbished Old unused things in the room Floor not feeling clean enough to leave baby roaming
Space and location, quiet place
Lots of character Beautiful Great for entertaining a couple of friends Comfortable beds Close to subways and buses
Small Gritty Neighborhood Weak A/C
Washing machine was not allowed to use while it was advertised as working.
Location great. very quit inside apartement
The amount of space, but it was odd, all partitions including a big gap between ceiling and toilet door, which was glass and not completely opaque. Had to step straight out of the shower into an open hallway. Lots of unwelcoming signs about what not to do and details of fines for violations.
No assistance if you had a problem outside office hours and limited assistance within hours. Internet was fleeting and not available for most of our stay.
The Area was beautiful w/ all the Brown Stones on the tree lined streets. The Bed was comfy & the bathroom was beautiful. The ability too call a car for transportation.
The Stairs ! I stayed on the 3rd floor & Thank God my son lives here & helped me to bring my suit case up & down the 38 Stairs!
Location, decor, and convenience. This was a great place to stay. I would happily stay here again and I would recommend the Missing Lantern to others as well.
The two sleeping spaces are separated by a folding door that doesn't close and is more like a screen so there is less privacy than one might perhaps wish for; however, the beds were super comfortable and the room was lovely.
I like the set up, it's a very cute concept if only it could be executed. The train is three blocks away, and I believe there is a bus line close by. There is a grocery, and plenty of other shops of different variety's in the neighborhood. The cleaning staff are very polite.
The management is non existing, the two people I dealt with weren't on the same page at all. They are excellent at giving the run around. I never got a clear answer, nor the same answer for any questions I asked. This place has an extremely bad bug infestation that them seem to ignore and act as if they are unaware of.
The eclectic decor was cute and fun
There was no wifi. And if there was, there was no clear sign or direction to log on.
The picture is misleading. The rooms are big with kitchenette but very very outdated decor and the structure of room is strange the air conditioner was poor quality so was the refrigerator and behind the couch there were about 5 roach motel disc but I never saw one bug not even a ant or spider. The maid was sweet and gracious but we received limited towels if you have a disabilities it may be hard to climb the stairs theseare converted brownstones with lots of stairs
Stairs, room appearance, strange smells, weird configuration of rooms shower head was too forceful with no option to adjust you definitely pay more thanthe room is worth
nice building and quite clean, five minutes from metro station (nostrand a/c) and 20 from manhattan.
The neighbourhood is nice but of course it is not manhattan. No sense of fear, but saturday night there were cops each corner from the metro station to dean street, quite astonishing. Internet not working so well. it always connects, and download email in background, but if you try to connect some more passwords
The interior of the room and the building.
1. The management is invisible and inaccessible at the best of times 2. Bathroom is too small and toilet plumbing was poor
Staff was friendly and accommodating. The location was close to the subway for easy access to NYC. The room was charming with Brooklyn Brownstone character. Loved the Murphy bed! The keyless entry was great!
Lovely size rooms with a more unique feel than a standard hotel room. Good size and comfortable furnishings. Clean and in good repair. Felt secure with coded entry system. Would be perfect for longer stays as well as short breaks.
It was a little further out from Manhattan than we'd thought and whilst during the day the area was fine with easy subway links to City we weren't sure how safe we would feel at night (no actual evidence to suggest this would be the case) easily solved by getting off subway earlier and getting a taxi to the door of the apartments.
