Clean rooms, nice shower/bathroom, good wifi, very friendly and helpful staff and very well located. All in all I'd recommend it as a great budget hotel
Hallway had a very bad smell (I'm being fussy here though).
It's quite close to city center, and well served by public transportation. In 30 minutes you can go to everywhere in San Francisco. It's very basic, but safe and clean. One star is the right classification
Breakfast must be consumed standing up at reception and only consists of Tea, Coffee and muffins.
Location was central to activities. It was possible to walk most places or take cabs for a reasonable price.
Room size was small - just a bed and bathroom with limited walking space around the bed, no real room for luggage. Price - for the accommodations provided, it is overpriced Local area is dirty and smells bad
The window of the room overlooked a vacant lot.
The Hotel is walking distance from most sites.
According to the booking we should have received a room for four. Because they overbooked, we got a room with a double bed and two matresses were laid on the floor, which was not very clean!
Fast internet. Good location
Very worn furniture. Unclean and moldy room.
I had a very positive experience. Of course you have to relate the comfort to the low price. Room Nr. 401: Big room (no problem with storing two large suitcases) with a small table perfect for working, large closet and equiped for ironing. Staff was extremly helpful. The location is good as on Sutter, where there are no homeless people lying around, it's also very close to the art university buildings with nice restaurants and coffeeshops. Only 7 min walk to the BART (Civic) (if you prefer to stay right next to the BART station you would have to deal with the homeless). Not too noisy if you are used to the usual city noise. If not, you shouldn't stay in the area.
More or less safe area, sometimes some drunks shout around (I'm a girl travelling alone). Internet was at times veeeeeery slow.
Reasonable price. Nice staff.
Danegerous neigborhood, poor brekfast, only sweet cakes. I wouldn't come back there again
Ok for price.
breakfast to go
We got rooms with private bathrooms, which also included a huge piece of furniture blocking the window, just to say the room has a TV (as old as the building). It also included breakfast, which consisted of burnt coffee and mini muffins, all "served" on a tiny table next to the elevator. There is no place to stand at the reception, and no option for two beds. They wanted to charge us for a rollout bed if we did not want to share a full sized bed.... This hotel is overpriced and needs to be updated.
Ok if you look for a fair place to sleep in excellent location, but hotel offers no comfort and is kind if shabby
laundry and supermarket next door. close to cable car in California St. obviously have upgraded in the last year. breakfast was just served at a cart near reception but was ok rooms were serviced daily old fashioned lift
was not worth the money however.
We arrived early, way before check in and the hotel was able to get us into a room. Quiet neighborhood. Convenient market a couple doors down.
I think there was blood on the shower curtain. They seemed a bit bothered by me asking for a 30 min late check out.
room was clean and well presented and cleaned daily. has fridge and microwave with supermarket and laundry next door. it is close to cable car with easy access to fisherman's wharf by changing cable cars at Powell street.
the fan and light are controlled by the one switch. the bedside light was difficult to turn off tv was too old and some stations not working
very quaint, and quiet room with good wifi acccess
Staff very helpful, good location, great wifi
Location is good, but this is a tourist trap, read below:
After 4 times in SF this was definitely the worst accommodation I've had. I had to sleep in a bunk bed. They didn't make my bed any day. Room was tiny and sark didn't have a table to sit down as shown in pictures, furniture was ancient. Breakfast consists of mini muffins and pastries, only one type of each, and coffee/tea. There isn't even milk. My suggestion is, if you're.on a budget, save your money and go for a hostel. You might have to sleep in a bunk bed too but at least you'll get full breakfast and a kitchen, nice staff and a beautiful room with plenty of light.
2 people from the staff where very nice
- when i arrived the first thing i did was washing the bed sheets myself, there where pubic hairs and other dirt on it and it looked not cleaned - lots of people made noise until 1-2 am - drug abusing people there - for this price it is possible to get a much better place in san francisco
This Hotel was not clean. I did not se any staff. Brekfast was poor.
Helpful staff. Good location
Distance from room to shared bathroom which was ok but a bit run down
The staff was friendly, but they told us that parking on the streets around the hotel was for free, we did it and got a ticket for illegal parking. This is not very reliable.
Very simple hotel, at a great location. The room was small, with not much space for our luggage, but clean. The 'breakfast' consists of muffins and a coffee machine in the hallway.
