Location the Best in Waikiki. Beds are so great its hard not to stay in bed all day. I loved the feel of the hotel; a bit of grandeur from the past. Drinks under the Banyan Tree with live Hawaiian music .
Staff needs to pay attention to details. They are not as warm and welcoming as should be but they were not unpleasent. Then again there were staff that made up for the others. Overll I had a wonderful 10 day stay.
The beds were phenomenal. The staff were very helpful.
Our sliding door squeaked terribly.
The position of the hotel was excellent and we enjoyed being so close to the beach. The public areas of the hotel are lovely, the food excellent and our beach view room very comfortable. It was a lovely way to finish our holiday.
Food and the abundance of options for enjoying the seen
Price a liitle stiff and small roomd
great view and confortable bed
Everything about our stay there was excellent. Planning already for our next visit.
My wife and I are captivated by the nostalgic hotel capturing the history of Hawaii yet still allowing us to kick our heals up around the beach bar listening to artists like John Valintine. Great week, Bob and Karen.
The hotel made a great stopping off point on our way home from Japan. The location on the beach is lovely, the staff were very friendly and accommodating - we even got a room upgrade at check in and was able to arrange late check out.
The large room could have used an extra chair or two. On lower floors you can hear the outside entertainment. They don't advertise the hotel airport shuttle well enough.
The bed was lovely to sleep on
We were upset with the $31 a day extra costs for things we did not want or use such as car parking, kids under 5 eat free, the activities. The only thing we used was the internet and often access was poor. We thought the free photo was a scam. It was a small photo in a postcard. A normal photo we would have had to pay. The hotel should be upfront about hidden costs
Location is excellent
very old room. average customer service.
Great service and facilities. Can't beat being right on the beach etc. Beautiful hotel, wonderful location.
Walls were a bit thin and other people's conversations kept us awake. The hotel has constant weddings which affect access to some open spaces etc.
The setting at the Moana is exceptional! This hotel has it all, history, class, atmosphere and views to die for!
First impression at Reception was disappointing! Reception staff slow and quite unhelpful which I found frustrating as the Moana was the most expensive hotel on my recent trip to Canada and US!
Traditional building, rocking chair, view, banyan tree, air flowing through the hotet.
Coin laudry and dryer was in bad shape. Bed sheets were not changed some days.
Had to cue to check in. The phone in the room was broken, had to go downstairs to call room service. Staff were rude when checking out. The room was small and bathroom was tiny. The pool was very small and not even seating for hotel guests. Hotel is full of people/visitors who are not guests.

Swimming Pool was nothing special Shower n Bath was rubbish & Dirty
Excellent location, amenities and quality of staff. I was travelling with a toddler and chose a tower room with Balcony with superb ocean views. Brilliant room size and the balcony was very secure for a kid. Great value to money
Location is excellent. Spacious room. Staff is friendly & helpful. Great buffet breakfast.
Noisy due to construction going on across the street. Pool area quite small & to reserve a lounge chair on the beach was quite expensive.
The hotel is in a PERFECT location!! The staff was awesome, the accommodations were AH-mazing!!
- The bathroom was clean, but the shower curtain had a few stains on it. - We couldn't drink on the beach, so we had to walk to the bar, finish our drinks and then return to our reserved space. - Otherwise, everything was perfect!
Position of hotel was good beautiful building
The pool was to small for the amount of guests in hotel . Never enough deck chairs . To many guests for the infrastructure. of the hotel . For the price of this hotel did not think the rooms were up to standard .
Wrong time for us as it was school holidays
Absolutely loved this oldest hotel in Hawaii. Beautiful surroundings, great service, ideal location the perfect honeymoon hotel
Location, beach bar, pool area, rooms
The price! Expensive, but no more so than many other similar properties on Waikiki Beach.
The suite is very old.
We liked the very friendly, helpfull staff, the very comfortable beds and the best pillows we've had anywhere, we liked the ambiance of the hotel
The wardrobes, not enough room to hang clothes Nowhere to put your things in the bathroom
