Location is excellent. Spacious room. Staff is friendly & helpful. Great buffet breakfast.

Noisy due to construction going on across the street. Pool area quite small & to reserve a lounge chair on the beach was quite expensive.

The hotel is in a PERFECT location!! The staff was awesome, the accommodations were AH-mazing!!

    - The bathroom was clean, but the shower curtain had a few stains on it. - We couldn't drink on the beach, so we had to walk to the bar, finish our drinks and then return to our reserved space. - Otherwise, everything was perfect!

Position of hotel was good beautiful building

The pool was to small for the amount of guests in hotel . Never enough deck chairs . To many guests for the infrastructure. of the hotel . For the price of this hotel did not think the rooms were up to standard .

Location, beach bar, pool area, rooms

The price! Expensive, but no more so than many other similar properties on Waikiki Beach.

I didn't like it being overcrowded and it has a very small pool mainly full of kids and typically two people on check-in with long lines of people waiting. The whole place feels manic! Valet staff amazing. The location is excellent, but the beach is so crowded, that's Waikiki for you!

See what I did like! It's also overpriced. We had an expensive 'old central part' room with supposed sea view at $425 a night excluding taxes. A two night stay with one meal and a bottle wine at the main restaurant, small lunch at the bar and just a couple of cocktails and the final bill was $1500, felt like a lot. The bed was very comfortable, but room felt small, cramped even, with a small window (no balcony) and only a sea view if you craned you neck with face up against the window! Finally - the whole placed was impersonal and you didn't, in the end, feel special, which you should have.

Service front desk very poor -Rude not trained in service there was always a excuse-Concierge were not friendly like a smile may help 2 examples We went to pay the account and had a question the front desk said I cannot not do this right now I have people in front and will need to phone you back 2nd example - I required a power adapter asked concerge they said when you go up to the room they may deliver it in half hour to 45 minutes, I then asked where I could buy one as I did not want to wait that long then they arranged one straight away

I love the old ambiance, I love the hotel location and the lobby.

Rooms really need to be updated and this might not be important but it was to me is that they had the worse toilet paper ever!. At least at the price we paid they could have had soft toilet paper. The bathrooms especially need to be updated. Too old for the price.

loved the ambience, location, the veranda for breakfast, the staff always very helpful and friendly. I enjoyed the AFTERNOON TEA very much, fortunately I did resv. it before arriving at the Moana and got a great table with view of garden and beach. In all enjoyed my stay! jytte in Vancouver

did not like the location of the room, thought I booked a view of city, but really it was a view of another hotel, very disappointing with that, the room was adequate but nothing special for such a grand hotel and such a price. Did not appreciate it that I could never manage to get a pool lounge in the shade or even the sun, all were taken from early morning to late afternoon, some empty w/towels for long time.....there should have been a notice that if you were away more then half hour your lounge would be taken by another guest. Also, beach loungers were also not available. Pool area for such a hotel with so many guest far too small. Should be better lounger chairs outside by the Beach Bar area, if not able to get pool loungers, sitting in a rocking chair for too long is not too good. Dinner was not available to me at the Veranda Friday May 9th so had to sit inside ....well, was just OK, however the most disappointing of all was.....the main course, special of the day, was brought to me and upon tackling my meal I found the fish had not been cooked at all........was something right out of the river going camping. Raw!!!!! I sent it back and ordered an appitz. instead. The waiter was most accommodating but what was in the head of the chief.??????? It was a disappointing dinner at a famous Honolulu hotel restaurant, this should not have happened.......the meal was the special of the evening....Snapper! I was staying at the Moana hotel to celebrate a special occasion for myself and wanted a nice dinner on that Friday evening.

The Moana SurfRider hotel was amazing. We stayed two nights for our Honeymoon. Fantastic location and facilities. Enjoyed the 10 minute free massage that was offered in the foyer by the spa centre.

    Liked everything.

The best part about this place is the veranda, but you can get the view from anywhere else in Hawaii.

Front desk staff, including managers, are snooty and NOT accommodating (they act like they're doing you a favor by speaking to you). The facility is NOT worth the money. The rooms are small, old and unimpressive, ESPECIALLY for the price - don't let the cost fool you. It's like the saying goes, "you can't buy class". In other words, just because they charge an arm and a leg does not make them superior, and they are NOT. In fact, we were shocked and appalled, and simply disappointed at what we were expecting to be a romantic honeymoon get-away. We left after only two days and checked into the Hilton Hawaiian Village. That was a great decision - what a beautiful resort, with hospitable folks working in the hospitality industry...they must've gotten the memo about what their job description is, there!! Great trip, no thanks to Moana - don't waste your time or money.

Outstanding central location with great beach access and short walk to shops. Historic old hotel with great character, pleasant lobby and good facilities. Arrived early after long flight and accommodated with early check-in.

Very crowded at times with guests and visitors. Difficult to secure seating around pool. Average quality food and variable service at beach bar.

Great location on waikiki beach Bar and pool area were great but always busy. Most staff friendly and helpful. Providing a room and shower to freshen up after arriving early in the morning on a long flight was a nice touch

Like everything in the area it is expensive, extra charges for beach chairs etc a bit excessive

Beautiful hotel in a central location in Waikiki. If we'd had an ocean view room in the tower, I would have rated it higher. But we faced the street and it was very noisy.

Our room faced Kalakaua Avenue and we were awakened around five each morning by the beeps of trucks and the clunks of garbage trucks. Each afternoon the street performers started banging drums until 9 pm, except on Friday when they played very loudly until after ten. We got very little sleep on our vacation.

    Basically, we like the location.

In general pool area is not well taken care of...no one goes around to pick up towels or trash, not a top end set up.

I liked the location and main entrance of the hotel. The bed was very comfortable

My room wasn't cleaned properly everyday simple things like making of my bed was very untidy and not all the towels were replaced daily. I was disappointed that the ammenties were only lotion all other westin I have stayed at you get shampoo, shower cap , slippers etc. I paid almost 5,000 aud to stay there for very little value.
