Desert Inn  

A clean, comfortable room at a reasonable price. Not high on fit and finish, but that didn't impact my comfort.

While each room has a coffee maker and microwave, there is no coffee or hot water in the lobby for breakfast. There is instant oatmeal, but you need to plan a long time for the coffee maker to make hot water. Nothing in the room is microwave safe.

We were staying here on the way from Death Valley to Yosemite. Very nice guy at the desk. Motel is clean and has the standard necessities. No comments there. Good value for price.

There is nothing to do in town. Hard to find a restaurant that is not a fast food chain. Of course, this is not the motel's fault...

Clean comfortable and good ammenities for a budget desert motel. Worth the extra ten dollars over the other low priced options, and as good as the others that were thirty dollars more.

Desert Inn is a nice clean, quiet place. I'd definitely stay there again if I go to Mojave. The wifi was fast. It is just a block or so from a gas station that that has a convenience store. Also not far from restaurants. I arrived very late at night (almost 11pm) and there was no problems. My reservation was ready for me and I got my key quickly.

They have satellite tv which means 2 remotes. One is used ONLY for turning the TV on and off and I accidentally used it to change channels and got things confused. I was able to work it out but I can see where it might confuse someone less technical than me. A laminated paper showing what to do might work better. Really though, this is minor and not a reason to not stay at this inn.

The owners are extremely committed to customer service and providing good value. The facility is very plain and low-frills, but it's clean and comfortable, and little amenities like breakfast and WiFi (which aren't really expected at the price of the room) are very nice touches. I've stayed here on two different trips this year, and it's a no-brainer for where to stay in Mojave.

i was told by the nice man at the front desk that the room would be HOT because a) the air conditioning was not on all day ("we didn't know if you were going to show up".....i reserved the room 2 weeks prior to arrival and guaranteed it with a credit card.....) and b) "it was 108 degrees today so it's going to take a while to cool down".....it took 4 hours for the room to cool down enough to be BARELY comfortable enough to sleep (11:30pm). there is a nice new-looking motel 6 down the street for $10 less a night and they PROBABLY keep the rooms cool for arriving guests......i'm just sayin'.....

That it is located near death valley.

When we arrived, we just couldn't believe the motel was so nice at such an affordable price. The room was very clean, the furnitures were all new and functional, and the owner (a really kind and helpful one) had cared to refrigerate the place before our arrival. The sorrounding landscape was peculiar too, with a long scenic railroad and the appealing sensation of very few people around for miles. The room was also quite well sound proof, so the few trains passing by didn't bother our sleep. We had to leave Mojave early, and at 7 a.m. there was a simple but nice and various breakfast in the lobby: apples, oatmeal, milk, several types of cereal. All in all, I think it was the best motel treatment we've found in our 1000 miles trip around California. So, if you need to spend a night around Mojave, make sure to stop at the Desert Inn!

The rooms were clean. The beds were ok.

They did not turn on the A/C in the rooms prior to check-in. We arrived at 11pm. I estimate the room temp at 90 degrees! The rooms did not cool down for three hours, so I did not fall asleep until after 2am. The manager apologized but did not offer any other consideration. There was NO coffee at the free breakfast snack. Don't count on breakfast. It was minimal.

Hotel on the way between sf and lv. Good stop before to head to lv going through the Death Valley, that makes a full and beautiful day of tourism.

Hello, I like the Desert Inn because of the friendliness of the manager, cimfort and service for a value price. It is quiet and an oasis from the crowds.

The owners, both the man and the woman, were extremely courteous and kind and made the stay special. They were of Indian or Pakistani heritage (I think) and so many motels in the U.S. today have manager owners of that culture that are always cold and uncaring. This couple was so gratious and made every effort to be helpful and informative that I would definitely stay their again even though two motels just a few yards away offer better pricing. I truly appreciated this couple! ! ! !

It was slightly dirty(not vacuumed completely as you entered the door and the sink was missing a stopper so I could shave in with a basin of water.
