Melia Orlando Suite Hotel At Celebration  

The pool was nice and the room was clean. Considering the price, it would have been nice to have more color in the room as far as pictures, or color in the curtains, etc. The pictures on line gave me the impression that it was a bit more of a luxury hotel, so when we arrived i was a bit disappointed.

There was no drier for clothes, although there was a washing machine.

Close to Disney and room had a kitchen

Definitely not work close to a grand and they add all these taxes and charge you more than the actual price at first. Last time I'm staying there for sure!

The location was great.... A short drive to Celebration and all the theme parks but far enough away not to be too noisy

The cleaning of the rooms was not that great. We understand that the rooms only had a simply tidy up, clean towels and beds made but on several occasions, our rooms still had visible rubbish and food debris on the floor. With no broom in the rooms we had no way of cleaning it up ourselves!

We had no washclothes after the first day until the last morning. Coffee pot was totally kaput. Was replaced quickly. No dishwashing detergent at all. Rate was changed the third night. Tax rate was astronomical. Wow!

Restaurant service was extremely poor. On every occassion in the restaurant (for lunch and dinner) it took more than an hour after ordering to be served food. On one occassion, this meant the food was served to us at 10:45pm and, with young children with us, this was extermely inconvenient. Even when the lunch order consisted only of burgers and there was only one other table being used in the restaurant, it took an hour to be served food. To make matters even worse, the hotel had the audacity to add a compulsory 18% gratuity to all of our resturant charges. Had it not been compulsory, I would certainly left no tip at all. In fact, I would have expected to be offered a discount to compensate us for the substandard service provided and inconvenience suffered. The taxi service provider contracted to the hotel (Platinum Transportation) once picked up 46 guests in a 26-seater bus that was not equipped with any overhead bars or straps for standing passengers. I seriously doubt it was even legal to have loaded the bus to this extent. There were elderly people and I had 2 young children to support. With nothing to hold to secure ourselves, the trip was very dangerous. The bus driver told us that his manager required him to exchange his usual larger bus for the smaller one so that the larger bus could be used on another contract. The driver told him the smaller bus would not be big enough for his travellers to be picked up, but he was instructed to make the change regardless. These details were provided to hotel staff on our arrival at the hotel, but no action was taken by them since they believed this was 'normal' practice. We requested they tell the hotel manager to contact us to discuss it, but we received no response to this request. Due to these service issues, I would not stay at the hotel again and, I would recommend to others that they should avoid it.

Excellent facilities/pool

Our third time staying here and again there were issues with checking in. We had already paid for our room, or so we thought and then were told we'd have to pay $15 more a night for that particular room. Staff seem poorly trained and it's really disappointing to not have any pool service. No wonder people aren't staying to eat and drink at the hotel, in spite of the food being really good. Definitely need to improve the professionalism of the staff and the overall customer service.

The location was excellent. The hotel was clean and beautiful.

The food was underwhelming. The breakfast was tasteless. Need a better chef.

Your website and pictures were true to what our family experienced when we stayed with you. Both our suites were exceptionally clean, your staff was helpful and pleasent. We loved the attention to recycling and how our rooms were re-stocked everyday with essentials. The sheets and bed were amazing. Thank you for a great experience.

Decent place, spacious rooms, nice pool. Gym not on site but right around the corner at Florida Hospital and it has everything.

They didn't clean our room on two of the four days we stayed.

Spacious suites that can accomdodate all the family (5 people)

I didn't like that it took several requests up to midnight to have the linen to set up the fifth bed. The hotel was understaffed or the hotel receptionists were too unexperienced

I liked swimming pool and location.
