Decor was well designed to offer an experience more than just a comfortable stay. Little details of creativity to discover. Staff very professional and engaging as well. Location steps away from Independence Hall. Simply a pleasant stay!
Valet was a bit slow if parking a car.
Food Service was great particularly bell man Spacious rooms - ask for a park view
Expensive breakfast No pool
Everything was very lovely, down to the last detail. Everyone was friendly to both me and my dog. I was also very pleased that such a nice hotel accepted big dogs! I loved the attention she got as a guest as well! Treats, her own bed, and dog bowls. I loved the Alice and wonderland book on the night stand.
I understand that check in wasn't until three, but I got there early hoping that I could get checked in and ready to go by 3. I wasn't checked in until ten after 3 and still had to get my dog and belongings to my room. I was on a time crunch to try and see the area before the museums closed at 5. Maybe someone called in? I've usually been able to check in early at other hotels.
decor and location
needs new pillows
Cool bar/lounge upstairs and very trendy feel overall!
The Red Owl Tavern is first rate and friendly, the staff are very helpful, the atmosphere is lively but not intrusive, and it's inspiring to be so close to the Independence Mall
The decor was over the top. The music in public areas was too loud and to funky.
Staff was great, complimentary champagne when we arrived, Room décor was interesting
Valet service was automated and took 45 minutes at 6 am when I needed to leave. Hotel Lobby was overrun on Saturday with intoxicated guests from a wedding reception upstairs at the Stratus bar. There was a shirtless man in the lobby and then sitting out in the valet area. The staff did not control that situation. Wine happy hour was a neat idea but seemed to crowd the small lobby even more. Don't go on a weekend, the place is mobbed with patrons of the bar upstairs and the lobby is really over crowded. Not the 5 star experience you would expect for 500/night
My friend and I stayed in various hotels during our multi city, 12-day US visit and I think this was my favourite. The decor was incredible, the staff were genuinely friendly and knowledgeable. The location was perfect (right by the Liberty Bell) and I greatly appreciate the receptionist who went to the trouble of giving me advice on where to hear live music. PLUS they had nightly wine tastings -what's not to like? Will definitely be going back!
Not a single thing :-)
Every aspect of the structure and staff attitude was excellent.
Breakfast starts at 6:00 AM, even at lower priced competitors. Neither room service nor the restaurant was available until 7:00 AM, which meant we hit the road on empty stomachs.
Location, gist of the place
Ask for turn down, never showed up. Called to apologize next day however did not turn down the run. Called to complain again. Apologized and offered a bottle of wine which was cool but only brought it after they were reminded one hour later....
A lively reception when we checked in and a nice glass of wine on the house. Rooms were very spacious. Coffee in the lobby in the am.
The rooftop bar seemed off limits to guests unless you were dressed up, with the warning when you check in as to appropriate attire and a separate elevator staffed with hotel personnel I was disappointed that my husband and I couldn't just go up and have a glass of wine before dinner because he didn't pack the right shoes!
We arrived for our 30th anniversary celebration and found an iced bottle of wine and two refreshing bottles of water along with a lovely personal note and a bowl of fresh fruit! You must try the rooftop bar for a romantic time. Over the top decor.... You feel like you are in a set for Alice in Wonderland! Fantastic!
Location Decor Staff
If you're going to Philly - stay here!!! A perfect mix of top level service with a very modern twist. Wacky decor, great rooms, highly professional staff (even though they were young and trendy!), and complimentary coffee in the morning and wine in the evening! What's not to like??? Genuinely very impressed with this hotel, and I'm a pretty harsh critic! Location outstanding - next to Independence Hall/Liberty Bell etc. lots of good restaurants within walking distance. Shout out to 'T' on the door - friendly and professional. Only criticism is the pillows - too small and not greatly comfortable. Otherwise perfect place - u can't go wrong here!
The location The lounge area and bar The style and decoration
The pets ( it is a pet friendly hotel) Room service was the worst food was very bad The room had some areas that needed to be clean Valet parking was very expensive
Bar and restaurant next door Friendly staff
Paying for wi-fi - free wifi should be a basic these days.
The location was excellent; the staff friendly and the room very comfortable (with nice features/decoration).
Very little - the Red Owl Tavern breakfast was poor value for money compared with the diner up the road, but that is not unusual for hotels.
Beautiful room, amazing location for tourists, wonderful accommodating staff. Overall, a fantastic first class hotel.
Nothing not to like
A very special hotel, with special decor and great ambiance!
Perfect location to explore Philadelphia! Loved the decor! Will definitely go back!
Price of food
Great location for Old Philadelphia sites (right across from Liberty Bell), a little further from the rest of city if on business. Nice hotel - seemed to be "happening" and leisure oriented.
Weird complaint, but the TV in room was too far from bed. I had to sit on the edge to see. Unfortunate that you have to join loyalty program to get wifi. So only small stuff.
Comfortable and stylish room and hotel overall, great restaurant where we chose to eat all meals during our stay in Philadelphia. Very conveniently located close to historic landmarks. Easy walking distance to South Street for great shopping. Friendly staff and the happy hour was a welcome treat.
No tea and coffee making facilities provided in the room and no wine bottle opener - and a charge of $10 to use a bottle opener!
everything, the room, the gym, the staff, the bar, the location, everything. An unexpected delight
