Not happy with the rooftop bar. Felt like it was meant for exclusive customers. It was out of my league.
Very friendly staff from checking in to checking out. Excellent location. Love the Red Owl and our Bartender.
The hotel was quite cheesy
The loudness of the decor. If you stay here you should be prepared for clashing bright colors. I knew a Kimpton would have a special decor but my experience previously had been of good taste. Here the room combined red lacquer, pale blue and mustard yellow. Awful.
Somewhat expensive, but a very pleasant stay.
Very nicely appointed 'boutique' style hotel in a great part of Philly.
Our room and certain areas in the hotel were a little dusty.
Great location with a view of the liberty bell. We were able to walk to many historic landmarks. There are lots of great restaurants within walking distance like City Tavern and National Mechanics. Enjoyed the free wifi promo, hot coffee and tea in the lobby each morning, wine in the afternoon and goldfish in the room for the kids
We didn't like paying for wifi. It is a hassle to have to pay daily, although at check-out the staff only charged us for wifi once so that was nice. It would just be easier if wifi was free in every room. We needed wifi because we are from out of country so 3G on our phones did not work.
The decor is beautiful and the room was very comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The location of the hotel was perfect (we could see Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell from our hotel room window) and the restaurant in the hotel is delicious!
My only issue was that the reception staff seemed a bit disorganised and always surprised that check in & out are busy time
I love Monaco & Kimpton brand, I have had the privilege to visit a few and Philadelphia was a good example. The hotel looks and feel great, the location in Philadelphia is simply amazing and surprisingly quiet. The Restaurant "Red owl tavern" is excellent for every time of the day. Overall an excellent hotel, I would highly recommend.
location decor staff room also very comfortable
The staff was super courteous and the amenities were second to none. Next time, it will be a longer stay for sure!
parking was a little stressful. would love to come back without a car.
loved the décor everywhere, wine reception, helpful staff, comfortable beds, location in city, robes, amenities
The room was amazing. The bath (we stayed in a spa room) was also great.
We frequent Hotel Monaco in Philadelphia and we always comment on how the entire staff is always so pleasant. The Tavern staff is impeccable, and they were so thoughtful regarding our small child. The front desk, the doormen, the bellhops, and even the valet staff were so wonderful.
Loved the atmosphere and comfort
The upstairs bartender did not know how to make drinks at all. He had major additude. We had guest join us They had a blast. Wish had a dance floor. We still dance the chilly night away!!!
The great service from the staff. Especially when a few things went wrong they fixed right away. We loved our location of our room cleansiness it priority for us an it was awesome.
The valet takes too long to get your car. They tell you 20 minutes and two times I had to wait over 35 mins. They certainly need a better system.
Overall, the room was clean, but they missed so of the out-of-sight spots. Valet dropped the ball, they didn't clean the snow off the car.
Hospitality is top notch. Excellent wine hour. Good atmosphere on the eleventh floor.
Unfortunately we did not have a city view from our room
The hotel was near independence hall and the Liberty Bell.
Bathroom sucks--no sealed shower--water everywhere--design is too "cute/trendy"
Very expensive valet parking!!!!
Loved the location!
The staff on rooftop not nearly ad friendly as red owl and lobby. They should hang with those other folks to vet a better sense of true customer service and authenticity
Staff members as follows..T the doorman, isabella the waitress at red owl, ommar at front desk, Rob at front desk and Christina at front desk
Noisy neighbours. Hotel security was requested (twice) by me at 5am to ask people in room across the way having a party to keep it down - they didn't. Hotel was unable to give me ear plugs as they didn't have any - I'd expect this as being standard
- Location - Wine reception
Staff were all excellent. Great atmosphere and decor.
Location and ambiance
We moved rooms after the first night. The staff was helpful and excellent at moving us to a different room when requested. The first room was smaller and the water in the shower never got hot. The location of the first room made it very noisy. Every time a room nearby opened or closed their door it could be heard loudly in our room and almost gave the impression that someone was entering our room. Also there was a mirror directly facing the bed where you could see yourself from the bed, which is poor feng shui. The room we moved to was perfect.
I love the decor and the quality of the linens and products used. The rooms are a good size and set a luxurious tone. The staff is friendly, accommodating and focused on delivering great service.
