Staff was very accommodating and helpful. Room was nicely decorated with a huge and very comfy bed. A lot of perks, such as a free wine hour, free coffee and pastries for bteakfast, free back massage and bicycles.
Hotel Monaca is a slightly dated but elegant hotel located in the heart of Union Square in San Grancisco. Rooms were nicely appointed if a bit small by city standards. The staff was courteous and helpful, especially Elizabeth. A fine solid choice for a stay in downtown San Francisco.
The rooms were a bit on the small size compared with other San Francisco hotels in this price range. There was no room service. Perhaps because the restaurant was closed for renovation.
free bike rental
breakfast was limited
This hotel was nearby Chinatown and the downtown area. We were able to catch public transportation and head to Pier 39 easily! We loved it & would highly recommend it.
Location, accommodations and staff were high end
Unaware restaurant was closed
The interior was nice, but that's about it. The afternoon staff was a lot less grumpy than the morning staff.
The morning bell desk attendants were downright rude to everyone. There was no bar or restaurant like the description stated. No room service. No Coffee Pot in the room.
Room was nice, clean and comfortable. Staff very attentive and friendly. Loved the availability of complimentary fruit infused water.
Because the restaurant was closed for renovation, the breakfast option was minimal. There were some minor details/things like dropped trash in the hallway that was never picked up by staff over 2 days; these little things distinguish a good from great hotel.
Room just as pretty as photos. Big window with city street view. Great off Union Square location.
Restaurant was under renovation so the hotel provided fruit and pastries each morning which was nice. The lobby was very comfortable and the staff was kind and caring.
Nothing. All good.
elegant, nice touches
The exterior rooms are noisy (street noise)
I needed a comfortable bed and it definitely provided that.
There was no in room dining available due to refurbishment and that wasn't explained until we attempted to order. We ended up waiting two hours for take out.
Free bike that you can borrow Pastries and fruit in the morning Bathrooms
Windows were dirty and cannot be opened fully
comfortable & clean
Room housekeeping service made up the sofa bed and placed our child's stuffed animal near the pillows on the bed. It was a very nice touch and very welcoming for our children. :)
There was a cigar smoker on our floor. The smell was strong and permeated throughout the hallway and our room and through the bathroom vent, even though we did not turn the fan on. We placed towels by the door to mitigate the smoke coming into our room. Also, some water stains on the bathroom ceiling.
Housekeeping team very pleasant
Entrance lobby dirty ( especially carpet ) No restaurant No Room Service No Breakfast No dedicated concierge service Attitude of front desk staff Refused to do a check out at 10.00 pm as I was leaving next morning at 6.00 am Very close from Union Square but unfortunately many homeless people in the neighborhood and in front of the hotel day and night.
Helpful staff, nice location, beautiful hotel. Would definitely stay again
Very loud outside but I expected this due to Valentine's Day!
The staff and front desk were very friendly and accomadating . I dealt w Ashley at the front desk, she was great
The restaurant and bar were closed for renovation. A little disappointing! But other than that we had a fantastic time. We have frequented this hotel in the past and it is consistently great! Would highly recommend, and will definitely return. Thank you for a great stay.
Super close to good restaurants, bars and shops, few minute walk from the Union Square and the Cable Car. Decoration is lovely, the bed is very comfortable.
The restaurant was still under renovation, couldn't use it yet. I can't wait to go back and try it when it's ready.
Clean hotel, friendly staff.
The room and bathroom were small and had a moldy / water damage scent to them. The hotel also overcharged me which I am working to resolve now.
Very good experience, rooms were beautiful, also i really loved gym.
i think there was new guy at reception because chek-in was little bit awkward.
Great service and classic Kimpton style - centrally located; free continental breakfast
Hotel was under renovation so louder than usual; could also here lots of TV noise and talking on either side of me.
Warm welcome and free upgrade in Junior Suite Comp. breakfast - small choice but good enough
Really noisy when staying by the staircases by the end of the hallway Breakfast close too early 9:00 am and when I arrived at 9:00 am it was already all tired down and cleaned up. And I was not the only one to be surprised !!
Beautiful accommodations, King Deluxe room was an average size of a hotel room (I'm not sure why people complain that it is "tiny", friendly staff, wine hour was fun, birthday surprise left in room was a personal touch, staff knowledge of area was terrific!
Housekeeping was not really into the details, like wiping the mystery brown smudge (really hoping it was chocolate) off of the mini bar door, holes (two) in the bath towels, glass top desk that the TV was on had a layer of dust, ice bucket not emptied every day.
Everyone was friendly and helpful. Danny was so helpful, giving us directions and answering all our questions. They were very helpful when my daughter came to town for a few nights. Everyone was great
I knew about the restaurant being down, it would have been nice to have. I'll come back when it is renovated
