Nice location. Swanky decor and outdoor patio.
Poor service ie concierge and bellhop.
Bed and shower was excellent
Some of the areas of the hotel were not so clean.
The hotel felt fun and cool but not pretentious. The breakfast area (glass ceilinged conservatory) was so lovely in the morning. Building felt well guarded as far as people coming in off the street.
A few late night guests having a loud conversation in the hall, but they were having a great time !
Staff was great. We have a baby and they extended our check out while he slept.
Room was not 100% clean. There was still hair in the shower.
Restaurant and bar area were fantastic. Location in Soho was great.
Lack of information in the room re: the hotel, e.g. check out times, room service, how to work air con ... Air conditioning did not work the entire time and wasn't fixed or looked at. despite repeated requests. Staff were pleasant and appeared they wanted to be helpful, but then nothing was actually done. WiFi was very unpredictable - often wouldn't connect for me. Every night we were woken by loud, on-going talk, laughter and raucous outside our door and in the corridor. There were also 2am knocks on the next door room's door by someone saying "housekeeping!".
room beautiful, nicely appointed hotel overall very nice restaurant great little things in room super nice (Malin and Goetz) staff helpful and positive
key kept not working
Obviously the money you spend gets used on making the lobby, bars and outdoor spaces very funky and cool. It was a very trendy, well decorated hotel. We had breakfast in the restaurant and the baked goods were fantastic! Highly recommend the banana bread!!
For the price you're paying ($389/nt for a "superior" rm) - i would expect at the very least that the bathroom have it's own sink not a sink where the "vanity doubles as a wet bar". No space on the vanity/wet bar for my toiletries - the 2 bottles of Voss water ($10 ea) and crystal glasses (why?) are taking up the space. No USB ports, ipod dock on clock/radio was old, no robe, and let's get a real door on the bathroom - not one that closes with a magnet. The hotel rooms don't need to be as "cool and trendy" as the lobby!
The views, upgrade on the room, food and beverage quality and service, Staff overall
Snooty types managing the entire rooftop bar experience
Friendly & very helpful staff, beautifully decorated, very clean, perfect location, smells great as well!
The rooftop bar being open only on Sundays & Wednesdays.
Amazing views. Clean well appointed room. Great location.
It is pricey but worth it
Location is amazing, the staff are very nice and friendly. Great food
Walls are paper thin. I could hear everything in the connceting room, kept on waking up in the middle of the night because of the noise from the hotel and from the street. There are only very basic amenities (soap and shampoo only) and towels did not smell very clean.
Dark an ugly blue interior, but that's just "my" opinion. Most of the personel were short in answers and faked friendly. The rooms are ok and have good beds. But how can an expensive rooftop like the one of Mondrian be so popular, but look so cheap. Ugly green artificial grass, plastic "old" champagne glasses. Old glasses, because they were full of cracks and cuts. There are much better options around!
Restaurant / Bar area Location
Room small. Could not find a bellman when I needed one. There was no designated place to find them. I had a car - getting it back was never straightforward, and both times, despite telling me they'd let me know when it was available, I had to go looking after 45 mins.
the design is chic. great for young travelers. close to all the soho shops and is right next to many great restaurants in little italy. the Isola restaurant is both beautiful and delicious.
in-room dinning service never picked up my call, although they called me back after I explained situation to the front desk.
the bed is very confortable The area.
I come to NY for business almost once every 1,5 month. Usually go to bowery. Everything was full, but the Mondrian. So I stayed there....Unfortunetly for me Room service took very long + food was always not what I ordered. And not good at all !!! Bfast service was incredibly bad and food wasn't good. The buffet is poor and so the menu. It's not a 5 stars hotel. Last day I couldn't take my shower... the water was brown !! It's very expensive. It doesn't worth it at all. I will never come back.
Design of Hotel is Amazing The rooms were beautiful and stylish
Elevators take a long time to arrive it took as long as 15 minutes for the elevator to arrive.
Staff attitude was terrible. Shower leaked water all over the floor. Mattress was lumpy.
comfortable bed, great ambiance, cool designs, excellent location, amazing views and lovely Isola restaurant.
road construction in the area (Jul 2014) but nothing to do with the hotel. Would love to be able to go the the rooftop patio from the room/our floor instead of taking the elevators back to the lobby than lining up with the huge crowd but we managed and it was worth the wait!
Appearance/decor of hotel was great. Location was good. Staff was wonderful.
Stained carpets in room. Carpets in hallways needed a vuccum.
Location, probably one of the best in the city for regular NYC visitors (i.e. it's not very close to the main tourist sites) Bar, spacious and good service
Normal room size is very small for the money and the hanging space was pathetic, unless you were only staying one night. We were staying for a week so we upgraded to a bigger room at a $100 cost per night Concierge - waste of time (couldn't get us into restaurants, we tried directly and had no problem) Asked them to book us a limo but then told we had to sort with bellboys. They were helpful but you had to run around the hotel to find them! Management We noticed that our currency envelope of $2200 was missing on the 1st morning. Notified the hotel that we thought we might have left in the safe in the original room we had (only in it an hour), either that or it had been stolen from our new room. After chasing different managers for an outcome we were told that we would have to claim on the hotel insurance. When we eventually found the manager who had the insurance form (5 days later) we were then told the money had been found in the original room safe! Great to get the money back but this should have been sorted immediately! Roof top bar. Yes residents can use, but have to queue with non residents and get a hand stamp. One night we were refused entry as there were too many people on the top. We wouldn't expect to queue for a hotel facility or be refused entry (unless they clearly state that it has a maximum number) Even then residents should get first priority, especially if they're paying $9000 per week! Air conditioning We registered that the unit in our bedroom wasn't working on the 1st morning, but it still didn't work!
Easy walk to Soho, Little Italy and other cool parts of NY. Also lots of subway access. Best food is in this area, and you can even get a good cup of coffee.
Hotel restaurant was pretty good food-wise, but prices were crazy. Food was ok, but $19 for a glass of house wine and $12 for a bottle of water was a bit over the top.
Great beds and nice decor.
Crazy internet connection fees.
Great atmosphere. Nice room. Loved the restaurant. Staff very nice. Loved it
The hotel is located in a great area and is a great place to see beautiful people. The bar and restaurant are stylish and serve wonderful food - some of this food is also available for room service.
no pool or hottub but there is a small workout room. no business office but the hotel stay will print out emails for you.
I like how it wasn't super touristy. Clean and quiet
