Beautiful place and great location and great in-house bar (Sky Bar)
There was music playing all night from Sky Bar and was not screened well by balcony door
The facilities,the decor,the location,the room
friendly staff, ideal location, great seafood
Access to shopping and entertainment - nice views
Staff were excellent, hotel very clean and modern. Food from room service was excellent.
Bed was very uncomfortable, as were the pillows. No hot water in shower 4 days out of the 7 I stayed.
Hotel is well styled and well placed with good restaurants and bus tour stop nearby
In this day and age WiFi should be free throughtout the hotel
Gorgeous room and havently relaxing pool area!
Just wish they had some dresser drawers and a coffe pot for a late tea in room.
The rooms, skybar, staff
Loved the TV mirror Loved the view Loved location Awesome modern room
A little noisy
I loved my stay! The staff was friendly and welcoming. I also loved the Alice and wonderland type theme
I don't really have any complaints about the hotel. I did find it hard to find the tv but that wouldn't stop me from staying there again
location was great and the hotel,
roll out bed could have been bigger.
Get ready to pay $47 a day in fees and $38 a day if you valet.
A step above a couple of similar priced hotels we stayed at in LA. Very high standard
Wifi cost $10 a day, all similar/cheaper hotels seem to offer it for free these days The hotel doesn't have anything identifiable from the outside so it was tricky to find!
We arrived early, as we had travelled from Australia, the guy on the desk was great, he suggested we had a coffee and within 1 hour we were in our room by 11.00am, great location, great staff and we really enjoyed the restaurant, also the water ballet from the balcony in our room. We will be back!
I liked the location and the trendy minimalist decoration but a lot of it could be better!
Bath sucks, room is fair, food is more or less...
Great location, close to comedy club
Staff were not very knowledgeable about anything!
I like the location of the hotel the convenient access to it's surroundings, and the fair price value for what was expected. The Concierge was quite helpful and amiable the only person who might have had some professional hotelier training in this beautiful hotel.
The staff at the door was not as welcoming and professional as one expect at such a hotel. As I was checking out I even saw a new guest trying to get somebody's attention to assist her with her baggage although there were at least 5 staff members huddled around the valet counter. Furthermore the man who took my car to park was very rude and blasé which is an odd attitude to expect at a hotel by the valet who is supposed to set the tone for the guests' stay. So although I was a repeat customer who originally enjoyed my stay at the Mondrian and even recommended the hotel to my fellow travelers I shall not repeat my stay on my next trip to LA. Additionally, the bathroom seemed only half cleaned when I checked in, with the sink obviously not wiped down and some traces of the previous tenant still visible. This hotel is in desperate need of new management!
The Mondrian has a great location, the aesthetics are very cool but it's the service from the front desk to the restaurant to the support team that really sets it apart. I highly recommend it.
The Mondrian attracts a very eclectic mix of guests. It is great to be able to mingle with Joe Average through to major celebrities with no attitude.
Lots of private events held this time of year, winter and a lot of the facilities for eg the pool and the sky bar area were out of bounds. Also the Herrinbone restaurant was used for a private events on several occasions leaving the guests to use only a small section which was left available. Also there was much noticiation in advance.
We stayed at the Mondrian twice in the last two months. First was in a Deluxe One Bedroom Suite - simply fantastic with an amazing bathroom/shower room, super-comfy bed, an fabulous view of Downtown and plenty of space to enjoy both in the bedroom and living area. Decor is very stylish, the bar and restaurant are excellent again with great views down into LA - plenty of great people watching too. Our next stay was in a Deluxe Studio which was a smaller version of the above without a separate bedroom but still with a small 'office desk' space as well - in fact a larger vanity mirror area than the other. This room had not only views of the pool area but also the valley. The exceptionally helpful concierge helped organise basketball tickets for us and along with the front desk staff provided a wealth of information. The wi-fi was very good compared to another hotel nearby. Bathroom toiletries had lovely scents - neither too masculine or feminine, again very cool stuff - a perfect fit for such a cool place. Will definitely be returning there when we are next in LA.
Struggling to come up with any negatives. We were fairly jet lagged so slept well - the studio was on the second floor with a distant sound of noise in the evening floating up from the bar but not enough to stop us drifting off. There is limited vehicle space out the front but they managed to keep traffic moving through most of the time. There are currently roadworks along Sunset Bvd (November 2014) so expect traffic delays along there during peak times. It's entertaining watching the 'groupies' hanging outside to catch a glimpse of famous people staying at the hotel or at the House of Blues or Comedy Store across the road.
Price reflects the location and not the quality for the price
The pool is nice, and the room is HUGE
comfort and big rooms,
bad how they talk with people. Specially the Valet Parking, i was in hotel from 2 year it was great not sorry to say it become so bad
Staff were friendly and treated all of us like stars. Staff always tried to exceed our expectations. Position of the Mondrian is spectacular especially at night..
No coffee or tea facitlities in room. Restuarant evening meals OK could pick up quality.
