I only liked the location and the room.
Staff were a tad stiff, valet is completely disorganized and the rooms are a little outdated. Not your typical Mondrian hotel. Not for families either.
Location, staff, bed, have gotten used to it in 30 years of staying there
Still mediocore restaurant, restaurant expensive compared to quality, fish restaurant with no fish on lunch
I really liked the staff and the dining area as well as the pool area. The location was nice too. I actually loved our room and thought the large tv was nice. Our beds were very comfortable. But I paid more money for this hotel because I thought the ambiance in the lobby, dining, ammenities etc. was going to be awesome. The only word I can come up with is tired and dirty. Even the elevators were dirty.
The lobby is very tired... Needs a makeover for sure. If you are looking for sleep, this is not the hotel for you. It's really geared toward the late night crowds and younger clientele.
I was really impressed with the double glass sliding doors that soundproofed the room extremely well.
Beware of the $14 bottle water in the room.
Absolutely loved the location, the hotel is so glamorous and great fun. Weirdly tranquil given the location and excellent food and views
Found the staff lacked attention at time. I waited 25 mins for concierge
Nice room, nice pool when there were no parties happening and we could enjoy it.
The massive weekend pool parties - all day and through past midnight. Fine if you're wanting to party, but we actually wanted to relax and lounge by the pool in the sun, and there was no way we could with several hundred people partying it up. So was kind of a waste of money and frustrating. They were also two hours late getting us into our room and were not good at communicating about it either which was frustrating. Very expensive room service. Week days would be much more chilled, a trick for first timers.
Jackie at the Mondrian upgraded us which was great! Herringbone restaurant was very nice and the outdoor pool / lounge area is very cool.
Being on Sunset Blvd, our room was a little noisy.
Good Location and lovely pool / drinks selection and restaurant on site.
I felt the staff wasnt very accomodating Especially, travelling as a single person. I felt they wasnt very friendly, helpful or sociable. I also found that the pool staff were not helpful unless you were a celebrity or throwing money around - I feel that hotel guests should be given priority for pool beds over guests visitng for the day.
Great place to stay.
Parking is $38/night per car.
Really Nice hotel, clean and comfortable. Amazing city view from the balcony. The sky at at the pool is definitely a plus.
Price of the overnight parking at 38$ when it is very easy to find parking for free few blocks away!! Of course did not know that the first night.
Very confortable room, staff is friendly and helpful. Outdoor, restaurant, swimpool and bar has an amazing atmosphear. Very well located.
Room wasn't properly cleaned when we arrived but it was quickly rectified. There was a couple with a young child above us on the second night who woke us up at 5am.
bigger pool area
Stylish hotel with helpful staff but if your not planning on spending much time at the hotel then consider more economical alternative. We weren't getting back till after 10pm hence didn't get a chance to use nice outdoor dinning area etc.
Small, busy swimming pool area
The hotel IS beautiful, no doubt about that. The rooms are very modern and it's located in a great area.
Blown away that there is no place to put clothes. No dresser of any kind. One closet with only 8 hangers! I don't like living out of a suitcase when I'm on vacation for more than a couple of days. Also- VERY disappointed that the pool is CLOSED at 7:00 for parties! We couldn't even get in to the pool area unless we dressed up first
Nothing was good in that place. Such a desappointing experience.
We toured California for 10 days, LA was the last stop. We stayed at great hotels everywhere until we got to Mondrian in Los Angeles. It was the worst experience in my entire live. I have never seen anything bad like that. The room and the bathroom were not clean. The second day we woke up with strong marijuana smell in the room. We called the duty manager to come and see it. It was really bad and they couldn't explain why, the hotel supposed to be Non smoking place but clearly it wasn't and people in different rooms were smoking so much weed that it went through the ventilation system. We changed the room and no one came or call to check if everything was ok, bad service for so called 4 star hotel. On different occasions we took the lifts and they smell marijuana, the corridors had food trays left for hours and smell food everywhere. At night is very noisy and the lobby turns into a night club. So many prostitutes and drug dealears around. When it get late, the lifts had wine spills and food on the floor. Overly priced, I wouldn't even spend 1 $ to stay there. If I am offered a free stay there in the future, I will not stay. Terrible place and made the stay in LA so unpleasant. I don't recommend it to anyone.
We were well looked after, food in the sky bar was fabulous .....lovely stay
Noise from furniture upstairs keeping us awake, with sliding door on bathroom keep banging from other rooms..
the food around the pool was nice, but not much else.
the towels on the beds around the pool were grey and thread bear. they have private parties around the pool so you cant use the bar of a night time. they have private parties of a day time so you cannot get a bed because people who are not staying in the hotel book all the beds up and you are left sitting on the floor. the lighting in the rooms are really dark, and the corridors are out of the shining movie. overall I would not recommend this hotel to anyone, it spoilt the end to a good vacation.
Location to West Hollywood, airport and downtown. Concierge staff knew the area thoroughly.
Wifi, PC use in the business centre and printing required additional hotel fees and costs!!
pleasant staff great poolside bar good restaurant nice rooms
Fun and lively in a great location.
14 dollars for a bottle of water. Crazy!
The hotel was well located within walking distance of some great restaurants. The rooms were ultra modern, roomy and very comfortable. The staff at reception were extremely efficient, helpful and very friendly as were the cleaning staff. The hotel is well equipped with a fitness centre with a variety of equipment that is easy to access, a pool and restaurant.
The pool area is beautifully set up with deck chairs and lounges, well staffed bars and friendly staff but as a guest of the hotel it was difficult to find anywhere to sit due to the number of non guests allowed into the area. Seats and tables had reserved signs on them for parties that were happening later in the day and therefore not available for guests. Also to enter the pool area, even though we were staying there, we were asked for proof of age! Anyone who did not have ID, even if they had their room key was turned Away.
The room was really pretty :-) we spent most of the time at the swimming pool :-) the stuff is amazing !! Thank you !!
I couldn't sleep much at night because of the noise :-( it was coming from outside somewhere
modern and clean rooms
loud noise from bar crowd in early hours of AM waiting for cabs
This place was perfect for me as was travelling on my own and was looking for a fun but safe place to stay. It ticked all boxes and contributed to being one of the best holidays I've ever had. Rooms were gorgeous and funky. Beds were very comfy and my room was always cleaned to a high standard. The pool area is perfect and is always filled with interesting people. While I'm sure it is not intentional (and I don't want to be rude) but I actually appreciated the fact that there were no children around while I was there. Made for fun, funky atmosphere. When I come back to LA I will definitely be staying at the Mondrian.
The bar/pool service could be a bit hit and miss with some excellent wait staff and some not so great staff. Not a big deal for me though and any negative was totally outweighed by positives.
Loved the friendliness of the staff
