Perfect location, nice rooms, great staff

A bit cold rooms - couldn't work out the a/c

Entire experience was extremely pleasant. Everyone very cordial and helpful. Lovely amenities. Colorful, tidy room. Convenient to Union Square and surroundings.

The rooms were clean and beautifully presented. Very comfortable too. The location was excellent for shopping and touring the city. And the free wine hour was an added bonus!

The staff were incredibly friendly. The room was clean and the design funky/trendy. The hotel is situated beautifully. We were able to walk to great restaurants, Nob Hill, Union Square, etc.

Our room was next to an elevator, so we had a lot of noise. Also, the workout facilities were a little sparse (not bad though).

My room was spacious and the bed was comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The location near Union Square was close to shops and only 10 minutes on foot from the Moscone Centre. Ok I walk fast.

The hotel overall was excellent and a high point of our trip. In particular the spa services and restaurant were outstanding. All of the staff were efficient and friendly and representative of the service we have found at Kimptpn hotels.

I loved the design of the hotel and room, as well as the wine hour. The staff was particularly nice, outgoing, and helpful. I loved the Bigelow bath products!

I didn't love the quality of the bedsheets and towels. It would be nice to have a comforter with a cover rather than covered with a sheet. The towels were rather old. The tv channels were rather limited. I was hoping to watch AMC but no luck.

Very friendly and helpful staff. We had to bring our car and appreciated the valet service. Beautiful rooms and common spaces. We had room service twice. The meals and service were excellent.

They weren't clear about the wifi service when we checked in, which could have resulted in us paying and unnecessary fee. Also, I have stayed there before and knew to expect a small room, but this was even smaller than I expected. There was no room for a chair other than the desk chair, so one of us had to sit on the bed when we had room service.

Location Decor

Hotel Monaco has a great location (as many other hotels nearby does), very nice decor, but the total absence of courtesy of the staff, for an expensive hotel, its almost unbelivable. My wife and I stayed at Hotel Monaco as part of our honeymoon, and, not once has the clerks at the front desk have said "good morning", "welcome"' nor "have a nice day"; not even when we checked in. When arrived we had to carry our own bags because no one was there to help us; the same to open the doors while we where handling the bags. Its a $300 per night hotel, with a staff service of a Motel 6 at its best. Avoid this hotel if you value service

Loved the sheets on the bed...so luxurious and comfortable. Pillows were also great, as were towels. Loved the nice big flat screen tv, robes in the closet, comp wine and coffee. Everything was just perfect.

Friendly staff, the room, jets in the tub, dog friendly, location, parking. This was our family Xmas present-we saw the Lion King too.

It rained. We could only afford to stay one day.

Location

When you pay 600 plus dollars a night I expect a room to reflect the money spent. 50 Dollar a night parking is unacceptable. I expect the staff to go out of there way to get things for customers. I expect facilities to be better equipped. This hotel was so grossly overrated it was laughable.

If you are a shopper the location is great for Union Square. Service from every member of staff was exemplary (Reception, Waitstaff and Housekeeping).

Our room was probably not what I would call "value for money" and very small i.e. lack of floor space for two mid-sized suitcases. Long delay for hot water for the shower in the evenings.

The gym in the basement was very convenient, and the restaurant was exactly what I needed for one of the nights. Friendly staff. Easy to use, reliable WiFi. Although I did not need any of these items, I noticed that they have cell phone chargers, power adaptors, and other essential gadgetry at the front desk in case you forget yours.

It is pricey, but in line with similar hotels nearby.

Expensive breakfast

Beautifully restored old hotel with great attention to every detail. Perfect Union Square location. Staff were friendly and professional. Comfortable bed, thick guest robes, pet-friendly, beautiful decor.

The only complaint is the expensive valet parking - $50 per night. We parked in a public lot just around the corner for $30 instead.

The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Service in the dining room for breakfast was slow.

Location and silence for down town hotel

I have truly enjoyed my 3-day stay at this hotel. My room was very quiet (not on the main street), very clean and the bed was of excellent quality. The location of the hotel, close to Union Square, is very convenient. We got a reasonable price per night thanks to the "deal-of-the- day* on booking.com, so this was cheaper than other hotels in a simillar category around Union Square.

We would probably not have stayed at this hotel if we would have had to pay the regular price per day. Without the special offer "deal of the day", I would have tried to find a cheaper hotel.
