Great food. Nice staff. Other guests were fun and interesting. Bed was comfortable. Only 4 hrs from Oakland. Good location to get to lovely winter scenery. Easy cross country skiing or snowshoeing right out the door.
There was a smelly dead mouse in a trap under our bed. There was no extension cord so our reading lamps would not reach the plug and we had to read with our headlamps.
I brought all six of my grandsons (ages 2-17) and we had a great time. The older boys loved the paintball. Even with such a lack of snow we still had a great trip and many happy memories!
Lack of snow, but the staff and other activities made up for it!
The situations and the atmosphere.
First and most important location. Then food included what's not to like about that and it is good well prepared food. If you are ever hungry it will be your own fault. Then all kinds of activities for the kids and fireplace to sit around for the adults.
the stairs are a little steep and tired some for an old man in the lodge. You must carry your bags up the stairs when you arrive. Just a little bad with the good.
the staff was very accommodating. The meal plan was a great idea. The food was good. The room was clean and the bathroom was new and clean.
The Lodge was hard to find. There were no signs, the address given in the confirmation email took us to a post office. The Lodge inside and out was cluttered and a bit unkept.
Friendly staff. Common areas are great for family activity and meeting with people. Three meals included. Feels like home away from home. Guided winter tours and sports are fun to all levels.
Wifi or cell service is very weak.
The fact that everything was in the same building was nice. Going to eat didn't mean bundling up for cold weather it was just down the stairs. The kids also liked the different activities they had available. Ping pong table, foosball table were nice addition to having outdoor activities as well. Being close enough to do snow play that if someone was done and wanted to go in they could without all of us having to leave. Food was really good for adults.
The room was a bit small, no room to really move around. The beds weren't very comfortable. Also need something for picky eaters (the younger kids) to choose from. The dinners were great but for kids in mind not so much.
Being away from downhill skiing. Nice staff. Lovely large dining area.
Lack of groomed cross country ski trails. Bad coffee.
The price was great for an all-inclusive Breakfast was excellent
The staff... Not the nicest I've ever seen
My fiancée and I are completely in love with the Montecito Sequoia Lodge... The atmosphere and staff make it a true relaxing get away.
The only lodge I know come with breakfast and dinner buffet style:-))) with friendly staff to boot!!!
No complain at all !!!
Montecito Sequoia Lodge is very kid friendly. All four of our children had a blast. The staff is fantastic and our private cabin with bath was roomy and clean.
Location is really convenient between Sherman and Grant groves
The room was awful: the cabin was basically a shelter. Wood-stove only, which couldn't heat up the room. Temperature was around 40 in the room! Old, very old, covers. No insulation we had to put clothes under the door. Old and dirty carpet. Shared bathrooms are in another building and extremely basic and not even clean. Last, check-in was poor. My card was taken for covering another customer's expenses. We had to cancel and retry.
The staff and lodge was great.
Having to leave.
Great kids club activities and things for kids to do like table football, ping pong etc. indoors, which was great as it was pouring down with rain! Unfortunately this meant we couldn't use the trampoline or pool, but they looked great!
Loved the Forest Cabin that we stayed in. My kids enjoyed their loft and outdoor balcony very much. The staff was just awesome with preparing meals and even preparing our bag lunch everyday so we can enjoy our days out without worrying about finding or packing a meal. Kids just didn't wanna leave....neither did my husband and I :)
Very Casual, Good Food, Helpful Staff. We required Disabled parking which was closeby
1 - Guests across the hall let their children out to play ball in the hallway about 7 am and they were not quiet. 2 - We also had at least one elephant in the room above us and they tromped around from about 7:15 until 7:45 and then it was quiet. 3 - no chairs in the room. We had to sit on the bed at night to read and my back doesn't like it. I have never stayed anywhere where there was not at least one chair
We stayed in the main lodge, which was just fine. It was really the amazing breakfast and dinner buffet that we loved about our stay. Thank you so much for all the delicious food choices! We ate better at Montecito then we did anywhere else on our vacation.
The hotel is in the center of the the park. No matter wich way you go, there's always something to do, even if you don't leave the lodge! The food is great and it's free!
The apartments don't have a elevator, so it's difficult to go up the stairs if you have lot of luggage.
Price is worth
The Montecito Sequoia Lodge had everything to entertain a family. The all inclusive resort had excellent food and plenty of outdoor recreation. The location is perfect to sight see the Sequoia forest and the Kings Canyon forest as well.
The older cabins were very cold at night. The beds needed warmer blankets. The fireplace was nice but burned a lot of wood through out the night.
food was great for a camp-style place, and being placed in the quietest part
Everyone very nice.
They could have given us an orientation, either verbally or written. We didn't know to sign up for a sack lunch the night before. We didn't have a map of the property. Didn't know about the activities we could so from there ... hike to Old Baldy, etc.
