The food is great, the lake is beautiful, the activities are family friendly, the staff is accomodating, just a gem of a place.
My only complaint is the bottom sheets would not stay put!
Spend 2 days there for visiting the giants and Moro Rock. Beautiful Lodge.
The staff was not so well organised and not particularly kind.
Very kind Staff, good food, wonderful location.
Family perfect. Children friendly, casual good food home style dining, cheap bar, games room, people employed to lead activities for children/parents,fire pit after dinner where you toasted marshmallows. Spa but full of children.
The wifi is slow but it's a weekend to get away (no TV either) but if u need wifi it's an issue.
We had such a nice time at the montecito. All your meals are included which made it such great value, and they'll do a packed lunch if your out. We especially like the complentary smore making by the fire. It's a short drive to the large sequoia tree's...which is a must see. This was a highlight of our trip staying here.
This is a very family orientated place, so there were a few kids running around and playing, which we didn't mind at all.
Because you are located right in the middle of the Sequoia national Forest, we were Surrounded by the trees we came to see. The food was great and your lodge was the perfect place to relax with our adult children. Scenery and Hiking was great!
The room was quite a bit smaller than your photos seemed to show, but the bathroom was a very pleasant surprise. It was very spacious and modern.
Relaxing, casual atmosphere
There was a supposed family reunion at the time we were there. I think it was a home school group and we felt over runs by indulged children. We stayed out of the lodge most of the time
Great food. Nice staff. Other guests were fun and interesting. Bed was comfortable. Only 4 hrs from Oakland. Good location to get to lovely winter scenery. Easy cross country skiing or snowshoeing right out the door.
There was a smelly dead mouse in a trap under our bed. There was no extension cord so our reading lamps would not reach the plug and we had to read with our headlamps.
I brought all six of my grandsons (ages 2-17) and we had a great time. The older boys loved the paintball. Even with such a lack of snow we still had a great trip and many happy memories!
Lack of snow, but the staff and other activities made up for it!
The situations and the atmosphere.
First and most important location. Then food included what's not to like about that and it is good well prepared food. If you are ever hungry it will be your own fault. Then all kinds of activities for the kids and fireplace to sit around for the adults.
the stairs are a little steep and tired some for an old man in the lodge. You must carry your bags up the stairs when you arrive. Just a little bad with the good.
the staff was very accommodating. The meal plan was a great idea. The food was good. The room was clean and the bathroom was new and clean.
The Lodge was hard to find. There were no signs, the address given in the confirmation email took us to a post office. The Lodge inside and out was cluttered and a bit unkept.
Friendly staff. Common areas are great for family activity and meeting with people. Three meals included. Feels like home away from home. Guided winter tours and sports are fun to all levels.
Wifi or cell service is very weak.
The fact that everything was in the same building was nice. Going to eat didn't mean bundling up for cold weather it was just down the stairs. The kids also liked the different activities they had available. Ping pong table, foosball table were nice addition to having outdoor activities as well. Being close enough to do snow play that if someone was done and wanted to go in they could without all of us having to leave. Food was really good for adults.
The room was a bit small, no room to really move around. The beds weren't very comfortable. Also need something for picky eaters (the younger kids) to choose from. The dinners were great but for kids in mind not so much.
Being away from downhill skiing. Nice staff. Lovely large dining area.
Lack of groomed cross country ski trails. Bad coffee.
The price was great for an all-inclusive Breakfast was excellent
The staff... Not the nicest I've ever seen
My fiancée and I are completely in love with the Montecito Sequoia Lodge... The atmosphere and staff make it a true relaxing get away.
The only lodge I know come with breakfast and dinner buffet style:-))) with friendly staff to boot!!!
No complain at all !!!
Montecito Sequoia Lodge is very kid friendly. All four of our children had a blast. The staff is fantastic and our private cabin with bath was roomy and clean.
Location is really convenient between Sherman and Grant groves
The room was awful: the cabin was basically a shelter. Wood-stove only, which couldn't heat up the room. Temperature was around 40 in the room! Old, very old, covers. No insulation we had to put clothes under the door. Old and dirty carpet. Shared bathrooms are in another building and extremely basic and not even clean. Last, check-in was poor. My card was taken for covering another customer's expenses. We had to cancel and retry.
The staff and lodge was great.
Having to leave.
Great kids club activities and things for kids to do like table football, ping pong etc. indoors, which was great as it was pouring down with rain! Unfortunately this meant we couldn't use the trampoline or pool, but they looked great!
