Score from 37 reviews Wonderful
I loved the lodge and the common areas. The staff was amazing. The access to food was amazing. loved the fire pit at night with people gathered around. Lots of stuff for kid to do.
Our room was tiny. Big furniture made the room more crowded and a little uncomfortable. The bathroom was very nice. The bed seemed small. We spent as little time as possible in the room.
Lovely staff. Stunning views.
Sat nav wouldn't pick it up so we went to the wrong end if generals highway looking for it! One hour of twisty bends later we found it!! Also bunk beds squeaked badly!
- Amazing location! - Huge number of activities, for kids and adults. All for free. - Some excellent add-ons (like top quality coffee in room, etc...) - Decent food included in room price - breakfast, lunch and dinner!
- cleanliness of the kitchen - pathways to the cottage was, sandy unclear and not lit.
Had a great time. A must do with children or grandchildren !
Ambience, extremely friendly staff, meals
Fantastic place in very picturesque surroundings... Super super place giving the meaning of all inclusive service a new meaning. Just go there and try the vibe... It's awesome - go go go
Problems with booking - in spite of confirmed booking, the room was not ready at 6pm - maybe trouble with connection between booking.com and the lodge. A small request - a welcoming message, written or oral could make up for the waiting time.
Breath taking views, trails, lake activities. Beautiful with a pleasant welcoming atmosphere.
What's not to like? If you expect perfection and new with people catering to you.....you're going to the wrong place!
Activities on the lake
That they had an pool and hot tub open late. Beautiful grounds, great view and picture perfect lake! We enjoyed the free flavored water and juice available.
No TV, small room size, broken lamp shades, mix matched light bulbs that I had to switch around. Some were white light while others were warm light lightbulbs. The hall light outside are room was out so it created a dark hallway. Our second room key was for another room. The dinner buffet that was spoken highly at another lodge was very poor quality. My partner couldn't finished it and sadly that was his birthday dinner on his birthday! Thank goodness they had cold cereal and bagels available or we would have gone hungry as you can't simply drive to town for dinner. The breakfast buffet was a huge improvement.
The lodge is right by a small pond. There are free paddle boards, kayaks, and paddle boats for a short afternoon cruise during sunset. The view from the main building balcony is gorgeous. The three meals (included in the price and lunch bag option available) are all very tasty.
The facility is old. Air conditioning does not work that well but summer nights can get pretty cold. It takes some extra strength to open the stuck door.
Great location but they had a family camp going on and it was very insular. I was clearly not welcome. If you are travelling thru the park stay 3 miles down the road ... They were much more friendly.
Great location in the park. Probably a fantastic place for a kids vacation/camp
Place is a bit run down - built in the 40's and feels like that. More of a communal camp feel than lodge/hotel
It is all about the location. Friendly and helpful staff.
Excellent location does not compensate for the fact that the lodge is long overdue for a general renovation and a thorough update (run down sanitation, decrepit furniture, general feeling of dust and dirt in the premises)
Included meals were great. Friendly and helpful staff. Beautiful location central in the park. Free use of canoes, pedal boats and paddle boards for the lake.
If you're a couple without children, be aware that serves as a summer camp from June-Aug. jacuzzi and pool might not be so appealing then.
You can't beat the prime location -- right in the park. The breakfast was good standard buffet fair.
Montecito is a rustic "summer camp" kind of place. Great location, but don't expect anything fancy.
Location in Sequoia Park.
Loved the lake , the food , the pool, activities , campfire Staff and our room. Highly recommend and we will be there again .
Walls were thin could hear the family next door but it didn't interfere in our enjoyment
Location to nearby hiking trails and National Parks. Many onsite activities, especially the lake with canoes, paddle boards, and paddle boats for guest use. Included meals.
Rooms were a slightly older then I expected. Definitely a camp/dorm atmosphere. Walls were thin.
as a vegan I expected to be eating iceburg lettuce and bland rice for my stay, but was happily surprised by the restaurant quality delicious entrees and delectable veggies such as roasted asparagus, garlic potatoes, and italian mushrooms with onion, tomato and garlic.
The room was stuffy and lacked air flow even when the outside temp was in the 50's. Wary of staying there during the summer without a/c...
Great location, good food.
The setting was pretty.
Our room was nice but the common rooms was not very well taken care of.
Excellent location, very well located close to all main attractions, very good value. has nice facilities for families
A little bit run down and old but clean
The outdoor activities were great. Lots to keep the kids busy. Staff was friendly. The pros almost outweighed the cons.
Didn't know there was no air conditioning or tv. Yikes. We were hot all night. Rooms were small, old, needing updating. Shower was terrible. Thank goodness we only stayed one night.
Incredible setting, right in the National Park. Rustic and beautiful. Staff are awesome and super friendly.
