The location of the Monteleone can not be beat. Especially with young children. You are one block off Bourbon so the kids are not exposed to some of the inherit raunchiness that is Bourbon St. The shops and restaurants surrounding it are excellent. You can park your car and walk to most anything you need.
The size of the rooms and bathrooms are small here and there was only two pillows on each bed. I would have preferred a couple of extra down pillows. But the size is probably what you would expect in a hotel of this age. The lobby and common areas are gorgeous though!
Cost of the room far exceeded quality of the amenities
Location and comfortable bed
Size of room (small), indifferent staff.
The only thing I didn't like, was the fact that we were unable to spend more time there. Everything was very professional with a flare of humor and fun.
There was some difficulty retreiving our velicle when leaving. But the Staff at the Hotel was very responsive. Many thanks to them for all their efforts to obtain the attention of the Valet.
Beautiful hotel with a great bar.
Parking is pretty hectic.
The hotel was beautiful, but seemed a bit tired. The bedding needs updated! The staff was wonderful, but did enter our room without knocking twice!!!!!
Hotel is well located to explore New Orleans...right in French Quarter, a block from Canal street and street cars, and a block from Burbon Street. Staff was very friendly and helpful
We could not control the temperature in the room. It was a cool evening and we needed more heat. The room was also rather small, but I guess that is expected in an older city hotel.
Pool and work out room 1st rate. Concierge very helpful
The beds were super comfy. The location is great. The staff was very friendly and very helpful with whatever we needed.
The bathroom was small and the room was small.
The maid was excellent and polite.
My prepaid travel card (debit card) was overcharged $400.00 . one month has passed, two telephone calls to managers with promise to correct, and they have still not returned my money to my card. Made for a rotten situation since I traveled from australia to us to be robbed by this hotel mob! Stay some other place! Or better yet stay away from new orleans!
The revolving Carrousel Bar always has an eclectic crowd of both guest, locals and tourist. The drinks are first rate ad not watered down. (Not heavy free-pour either). The lobby is grand and the rooms are comfortable. We have been coming there for 35 years (off and on)
In days gone by we used to like the Grand Buffet at Thanksgiving. That is what we went to NO Monteleone for. But I admit, the Thanksgiving menue was first rate and we enjoyed the meal immensely.
property was nice, Christmas decorations were very nice. The kitchen staff was very nice.
Stayed 3 nights, the charge was different each nite.(1052) why? Could not get an answer that made sense. The room was very small, tv doors in the way, only place to watch was in bed. The coffee pot never worked, complained each day in writing. Very expensive, Just to park a car was about 50.00 a day.No newspaper, Thanksgiving dinner was pretty close to just fair In other words it was my last stay...
Great location staff could,nt be more helpfull very comfortable throughout the hotel which is very attractive add to that the carousel bar and swimming pool I would'nt think of staying anywhere else
Welcomed graciously by all associated with Hotel Monteleone.
Many guests for a Monday Night game. Management of Food & Beverage did not provide opportunity to gather after the game to share food and drinks. Very disappointed.
The beauty and history of the hotel. Excellent staff! Fun bar.t
There wasn't anything we didn't like.
Location, location. Bar.
Two beds left no room for suitcase.
Friendly reception and staff throughout our stay, gorgeous lobby.
No one went out of their way to show us why their hotel was $500/ night. I felt like it was assumed I was a rich drunk instead of someone celebrating my sister's 50th birthday in style. Valet parking was poorly handled at check-in time and caused us to have to change our dinner reservation at the Court of Two Sisters. Our security box in the room did not work and no one came to fix it before we had to leave for dinner. One of the beds was very rickety - hardly close to the tempurpedic beds we had at another hotel the night before for 1/3 the price. I thought the hallway carpet looked tired and the staff at the rooftop pool did not welcome us and ask if there was anything we would like. We took in the city view and left. I would have expected chocolates on the pillow and a much more responsive facility manager for the price.
Staff (in every department) was very nice. Location was excellent.
Bathroom too small.
In-Room Coffee Maker and refrigerator; Nice Bathroom;
When booking, requested a water view, but was given a view looking at a building;
Great location, beautiful common areas, good size room, fantastic hotel bar.
The room had full size beds (queen should be the standard). Beds were too soft for my taste. Bathroom was pretty small.
Cruise ship ambiance in the lobby for old school prices Slow service stayed four days never had our room ready before 3pm
The location is superb and the whole ambience is stimulating. This was a long overdue return visit since 1987 and a great pleasure.
Not being able to afford more than one night's stay!
A hair salon would be very nice to have available. The restaurant is the best in New Orleans in my opinion, staff are wonderful from Kaia in sales to all the restaurant staff and managers to the front desk to those in housekeeping.
location cleanliness staff bar
expensive some street noise
