Roooms on the higher floors offered views of the Empire State Building. The Mapplethorp original in the room was an artistic delight. The provision of a 1800watt blowdryer was most welcome especially when most hotels only provide much smaller 1200 watt versions that make noise and take forever to dyr your hair. The large umbrella (with Morgans wrtiten all over it) was very useful for the rainy New York weather and saved me packing my own or going out to buy one. The bath products are divine (Qantas even uses them for Business Class flights from ny). Reception staff and cleaning staff were friendly and very, very helpful. Breakfast was great for travellers on the go. Lots of fresh fruit, yogurt, cereal, bagels, pastries, juice, tea & coffee. I would thoroughly recommend this hotel to single female travellers as it is so well located and is within easy walking distance to so many major sites and locations (including Macys and Grand Central Station). I even walked from Times Square after a night show feeling very safe. The room I was first given on the 9th floor was dark and looked out to a dingy brick wall. I asked for another and paid for an upgrade to superior on the 16th floor. Well worth the extra money!

We stayed here last week for three nights and, although I'm spending a lot of time in international hotels, I particularly found the personel in Morgans Hotel very helpful and friendly. Room was good and clean and bed was good too. An important reason for us to take this hotel was its very good location to see most of the places you typically like to see during a three day stay in nyc.

Great staff...very helpful and polite. Included breakfast was outstanding...lots of choice, great quality, fresh and superb coffee! Rooms (and Beds) were very clean and comfy! Cleanliness was a huge concern and I'm happy to say it was up to our standards. Great location to restaurants, shopping and theatres if you can handle up to 20 min walks. I'd read this before I booked and thought littel of it but I have to admit the doors closing are very noisy and can be disruptive. To be fair, this can be rectified by thoughful/polite guests - so good luck with that. It would be nice to if the hotel could install controlled door stops or similar.

The staff was excellent and the room was comfortable. I liked the 2 closets and the abundance of hangers. The continental breakfast was a nice feature. The bathroom was a bit small & there were not sufficient towel bars to facilitate hanging and reusing them.

We stayed 11 nights in a superior queen room, and loved the location, the decor, and the confort of the room. The staff is extremely nice, including the housekeeping personal. The breakfast is very simple, but nice and tasty, a good beggining for the day. Unfornately the noise was more than we expected, but we put the most blame on the city. We think the hotel could insulate better the door and the window. Still, we had good nights of sleep and could rest during the day.

Andree Putnam's great design which even after 20 years and is rather faded and in need of a facelift is still brilliant. The location is terrific - much better than the location of the Royalton, staff great. It is really faded and needs some tlc as things are chipped and worn out in some cases. Should have free wi fi in the rooms and more solid doors to keep out corridor noise

I liked the sober elegance of my room, the quality bedding and the complimentary breakfast. I didn't like waiting until 3 o'clock for check-in nor for being billed 12.51 for simply trying to place a call (though in fairness, the fees were dropped after I took issue with them). I also didn't appreciate the maid entering my room while I was there, to hover for her tip...

Great value for the money and good size rooms by New York standards. Also a very cool "Living Room" space that guest can hang out in before check in or after check out if you have time before you need to head to the air port.

Good location, good service, very nice and modern ,though tiny , rooms. Free internet only in the common area on the 4th floor, but with free coffee and tea. A bit expensive for the standard, but that is usual in New York. Small variety of food for breakfast. On the other hand it was the best hotel I ever stayed in New York.

Having paid a reasonable nightly rate for a hotel with such a superb location, we did not hope for too much in terms of luxury or comfort. It was our honeymoon and we were delighted with having a location so central and near to major attractions and transport links. Upon arrival, the staff we excellent and incredibly welcoming. They took time to discuss your plans to see if they could assist or recommend somewhere. The rooms were quirky but incredibly clean and beautifully maintained. The giant beds were like sleeping on a cloud. The shower was fabulous too. My husband and I were thrilled with the experience at your hotel and will stay with you again and recommend the hotel to all our friends and family. 5 star. I wish it had a bar and that it was clearly visible from outside. It sounds silly but it looks like an office from Outside. There needs to be a canopy Or sign at least.

It did not feel like a hotel. The entrance and lobby were very low key which was great. Staff were fantastic, continental breakfast and dining room great and our room very comfortable. We would stay here again and will recommend Morgans to others travelling to ny.

Comfortable with a friendly staff. Very clean. Excellent continental breakfast with great coffee. Free newspapers. Plain low-fat yogurt on the hotel buffet made me feel like home. Living Room on the 4th floor was a plus. A charge for internet in the room is starting to feel so last-century. I think of it now like electricity - it should just be there. Charging for it is starting feel chintzy.

“From the minute we arrived, the staff was extremely helpful and accomodating. The woman at the front desk met us at a room to see if we wanted to upgrade to it. The room was well appointed and very spacious. The lighting was exceptional. Our view of teh park was perfect. We enjoyed dining at Koi. And we really appreciated the free valet parking. We will be back! ” Loretta, Northampton |
