Motel 6 Oakland - Embarcadero  

Price and convenient location

I reserved a king room with a microwave and refrigerator. I did not get a king room and I had to pay extra for the microwave and refrigerator.

no microwave or fridge in room. toilet was bad stained.

Good location when having a car - right off the freeway. Easy access to all destinations in the Bay Area. Right on waterfront on edge of city, lovely. Rooms on waterfront are quiet. Basic but clean accommodation. Reception staff was friendly and helpful.

Reservation through Booking.com failed though I received a booking confirmation from Booking.com. I did check reservations with staff on their office computer - it was not there. Staff at Motel was very helpful and managed to accommodate me anyway - but in a smoking room for the 1st night (for non smokers:what a nightmare!).

The location was excellent.

One of the beds was not so good, but the other was OK.

Noisy, thin walls and ceiling.

I liked the price. One of the cheapest places to stay around San Fransisco (as far as I could see).

The staff was OK, but nothing more. They answered our questions with short sentences. I tried to find a nearby starbucks for breakfast, and they tried to show me the way by pointing me in the right direction. It ended up with me walking a mile the wrong way. Would it kill them to print out a map for me? Also, we found an unused condom right by our bed. It says something about the cleanliness of the motel, as well as the other quests. I would guess the place is filled with two kinds of people: either old men bringing girls they have paid for, or people that dont know the local geography and are looking at the pricetag (us). The neighbourhood is bad, and I would not let my girlfriend walk in the area alone. It takes about 30 minutes to walk to the closest BART, and you walk through a dangerous area. Being there without a car is not very practical.

Motel was very clean, quiet and safe. There are beautiful flower beds on the grounds. We would definitely stay here again. We are in the hospitality business and very picky. This was a great modest price place,. Some burns on furniture, but it was very clean! Glad we found this motel !

Paying for internet lack of microwave and refrigerator apparently Motel 6 does not have in room coffee makers "pool" is really just a hot tub parking lot used for long term non-quest parking - taking the close in spots

Das Motel war absolut unsauber. Wir sind nach einem Tag ins Nachbarmotel umgezogen.

Un Motel 6 à Oakland dont il ne faut rien attendre de particulier mais qui est une excellente solution pour qui veut éviter de se ruiner dans les hôtels de San Francisco. Ce motel 6 est à 15 minutes (en voiture) de Union Square par le bay bridge. Demander une chambre avec vue sur la marina plutôt que sur le parking...

A reasonable, no-frills place to stay close to San Francisco.

We arrived at 9:40 to check-in - female working front-desk had locked the door - which there was a sign saying we had to check-in at the "window" after 10pm. She was very short-tempered and demanded our ID's which she took out of view and scanned into a machine - reasoning being for 'our safety incase police were needed'. Then took credit card again out of view - scanned and returned with a paper to sign. She stated that there was a fridge and microwave in the room - didn't ask or book that for my stay - and it was a "freebie" but if we stayed another night it would automatically be added to my bill. Then as we walk away she explains we'd have to pay cash for internet access. Directions to room were incorrect - walked around whole property to find room on waterfront but in a dark area with limited access so getting luggage in there was terrible. Suspicious males outside on benches all night - loud and 2 females that were very scantly dressed walking up and down walkways throughout night.
