The home is beautiful.
Where to begin? The home was very dirty---cat throw-up from the night before still wasn't cleaned up the next morning and one of the cats added another area of throw-up during the night... The class smelled strongly of cat pee. Dirt on the floors, spots on the bedroom carpeting, cobwebs between the banisters of the stairs.
Nice, comfortable and quiet rooms Della and Virgel are wonderful hosts who gave true meaning to; "mi casa es tu casa". They did everything to make sure we had a fantastic stay. Exellent breakfast, together with the other guests.
The location was good.
You are pretty much renting a room in someone else's home. I wouldn't consider this a B&B. They have a few cats so if you are allergic this is not a good fit. You rarely see the owners. Had to request for the air conditioning to be turned on and it was extremely hot. Breakfast wasn't served before 9am which made it difficult if you had plans and we were served the same thing every morning we were three. Again we would not consider this to be a true B&B. Very disappointed.
Unfortunately, this stay was overshadowed by a strong male cat-spray odor. Otherwise, it is a beautiful home, top-knotch construction features, bath, deck, yard, wildlife, quiet neighborhood. (Owners and Booking.com made good on refunding my stay.)
I couldn't control my own temperature settings. Suite door was just a "privacy" lock (like your home bathroom door) and not keyed entry. Cat odor was overwhelming. Advertisement didn't disclose presence of cats on property (multiple).
Hosts were absolutely wonderful. Breakfast was delicious! The area around the B&B is gorgeous...If I could I would move there!
A bit far from downtown (15min drive), so you def need a car. However, the drive was easy and parking downtown is convenient.
Everything else....I booked thru booking.com arrived wanted to leave but would lose the $300.00 so we stayed.....I sent an email to booking.com when we returned home just expressing my/our disappointment...and they contacted the B & B and got us a FULL refund...which I did not even ask Booking.com to do! That was amazing and appreciated!
Loved everything, loved the location, beautiful house with super comfortable everything, and superfast broadband.. We had the King room, with the spa tub in the largest bathroom you could imagine, with a double shower wet room. We had lovely full English Breakfast every day with homemade biscuits/scones. The long back deck overlooked the forest, and the deer would come for the bread that Virgil put out each evening, plus any other wild life that was around. Altogether a real treat.
Just to let you know NOT to wear perfume or hair spray here, as Della is allergic and it will set off her Asthma and they do have some lovely cats, if you have a problem with that, then I would recommend you go some where else!!!
The view, the room, the bed,the hosts, the tub ....whwhat's not to love!
We loved all the wildlife surrounding the place, including cats, deer, raccoons, and birds. The room and private bathroom was spacious and we had a nice balcony. The breakfast was good, but not what we were used to when it comes to B and B's. She asked us what we liked and fed us TONS of food, but not the greatest. Mostly eggs, bacon, and toast. The pancakes, however, were amazing, as well as the homemade bread. The owner was nice enough.
We didn't like that the room was never cleaned during our 3 night stay. We weren't crazy about the front door being left wide open all the time, even in the middle of the night when we came home late. The owner seemed a little flustered at times when we came down for breakfast at the usual time of 9:30 (which I think is pretty late) and she hadn't started yet. She seemed to be the only one running the place and did not see her husband participate much. The bed was not bad, but the pillows were so thin! The water pressure was lacking, there was no A/C (and the room got HOT), and no way of locking your bedroom door from the outside when you went out. This was not a true bed and breakfast, in my opinion. It just felt like we were staying in a spare room in someone's house. I would not recommend if you are looking for a true bed and breakfast experience. We prefer a breakfast with set recipes that differ each day and if we are paying to stay as a guest, we expect the rooms to be cleaned each day. And also to treat our room as private and be able to lock it and go.
We were a little out of Portland but the public transit there was very convenient. Local wild life (deer and raccoon) were feed right of the back porch. The breakfast was wonderful. Also enjoyed desserts in the evening.
Location was beautiful and the king suite was amazing!
The owners were very sweet, but didn't provide breakfast one morning and was an hour late the other. We had to wake her out of bed in order to check out and get breakfast. Very generous with kitchen, but there was no vending machines, laundry, pool table or darts as stated.
The breakfasts were delicious and abundant - more than I could eat! It was so quiet, the only sound at night were the frogs croaking. Deer appeared a number of times in easy view of the back deck. Most of all, Della and Virgil did everything to make my stay enjoyable.
I can't thing of anything.
Della was quite friendly and cooked up a great breakfast. There were only 2 other guests, but she encouraged everyone to sit together and chat! The place was kept quite clean!
I came back quite late one night and felt intrusive. If you're a solo traveler, you might feel this is more of a couples' place -- but the host is still super friendly.
Very comfortable beds.
Unkempt hostess, didn't cook breakfast, too old to properly run a B&B.
The owners. Nice location and place.
Needs a cleaning person to help with choirs.
lovely place. very comfortable and friendly there. beautiful view. nice snacks also. lovely. will go again. saw momma raccoon and her babies.
everything was good and fun.
This is an excellent stay as far as affordability, comfort and location. It's a beautiful, convenient setting. The hosts provide a clean, comfortable and accommodating environment. Very safe location as well.
Easy access to large shopping Mall and food outlets at Clackamas. 15mins to park and ride, recommended. B&B nice clean rooms, lovely setting, wildlife, excellent staff.
Could not find fault really, if you had to have a gripe, it would be the late breakfast, 9.00am.
The people very friendly, Della, Virgilio, Vincent and Jeff, give us excelent hosting.
The tables were always set beautifully, the rooms were spotless and it was in a really peaceful neighborhood. I really liked that she had a few friendly cats.
The rooms were clean and beautiful, but were rather warm even with the fan and window open. I had a difficult time sleeping in the otherwise very comfortable room.
I loved the openness of our hosts; breakfast served in a family environment at 9:00 AM -- SO civilized and congenial as you eat with the other guests around the same table. Great conversation.
This is a large home in a residential area, owned by a nice couple who own the manor and live in an apt. in the building. They work hard to maintain a homelike experience for guests too . Wonderful space in the suite with spa tub and huge dressing room.
There's a drought. grounds are nearly bare. Huge trees give relief - they're beautiful. Very limited parking.
