Lovely room, superb location in the middle of Chinatown, helpful and friendly staff, really good breakfast. Absolutely no complaints and will definitely stay again whenever I visit NYC.
Comfy Bed, Reasonable sized room, Shower always had hot water,Clean, tidy and safe neighbourhood. Friendly and helpful staff in the hotel and at Mamas cafe, where breakfast is served
A bit far from nearest subway station, especially at night
I liked that you could that all the lower Manhattan neighborhoods were in walking distance.
Place and room was clean and I was surprised. Place looks updated. Free Breakfast is next door.
Comfy bed. Modern/new feeling of room.
Very small room. The breakfast is a laugh. You get a voucher and walk 4 shops down to the left to an eatery. The choice is limited, the taste is bland and the staff do not smile even if you try! 'pick-what-you-want-sit-down-and-wait' attitude. Granted that none of them use English as their first language so communication might the reason for that. Why you cannot get coffee in reception in the afternoon and evening goes beyond me! Not value for money at all!
Loved the location! Sandwiched between Chinatown and Little Italy. So many dining options and cultural exposure. It was very cool to see the Asian ladies doing Tai Chi each morning in the park across the street Great breakfast, clean and welcoming lobby.
The room was a bit tired. Could have used a coat of paint and some fresher bedding. The vent in the bathroom provided access to the room directly above. I listened to this guest's rap music while getting ready in the morning. WIFI was terrible.
The best part about Hotel Mulberry was it's downtown location. I loved being in Chinatown submersed in the Asian culture. Directly across the street was a park where you saw martial arts training to kid soccer games. Then, just a few blocks away you end up being in little Italy.
The lack of control of the air temperature.
nice view and balcony large room in NYC nice amenities and bathrobe convenient location
the breakfast is not great: only one cup of coffee (but was good!) and limited choice. on top it is outside the hotel building which makes it less convenient
I liked the Location in Chinatown, close to the Subway and in the middle of down town Manhattan. Crossing Canal Street and getting in to Chinatown is almost like travling to China, the atmosphere and the smells are just the same.
The location was excellent, particularly if you fancy a walk over Brooklyn Bridge or a visit to WTC. Getting to the hotel from JFK via the subway was tricky but well worth the taxi ride from the nearest A train. The staff were excellent and made some good recommendations for where to eat in Chinatown. The bed was amazing and the view even better!
Clean, neat, well designed room Nice view on a small local park Meets the expectations...
Receptionists were not very helpful...
We had a Deluxe King room with great city view. We were traveling with a baby and the room was spacious and clean, lot of space for crawling. :) The hotel is located in a peaceful street, just few steps away from nice restaurants of Chinatown and Little Italy. Also excellent shopping streets of Soho are nearby. We would definitely go again!
The hotel did not have a baby crip.
The Room was perfect including the Beds, Bathroom etc.
Breakfast facilities are limited.
Staff was very accommodating
Location was not convenient.
Everyone and everything was fine. Good breakfast down the street. Used the subway to get uptown which made it bearable.
location was way downtown. If you are going midtown or uptown on the subway give yourself at least half an hour. Cab traffic is worse.
So many restaurants, You can find everything on Mulberry St. Free breakfast! Great water pressure in the shower!! Location-you're in China Town and 2 blocks over its Little Italy and then Soho a couple of blocks more
subway is not too close but its not to too far :)
Location in Manhatten, service staff really good, bed super comffortable
Windows not soundproof
The hotel was super clean, staff was friendly and helpfull. Computer and print possibility in the lobby. Location is perfect, in the middle of Chinatown, on walking distance of Brooklyn Bridge, Tribeca and the Financial District. Ask for a room overlooking Columbus park and you get a view like a documentary: in the morning local ladies doing Tai Chi, in the afternoon kids playing soccer and elderly playing chess and live (Chinese) music. A feast for the eyes. Breakfast is served in "Mamas", just 4 doors from the hotel. You'll find tourists, locals and NYPD officers, since the Supreme Court is accross the street.
Most photos show the most luxurious room with balcony. Not all rooms are like that, but all rooms are good. Breakfast was included, but only for 2 of the 4 people in the 4-person room. This was mentioned in the room description, but we missed that. Breakfast at Mamas is not expensive, so no showstopper, but good to know in advance.
Hotel is located in Chinatown, which is still a thriving community in the heart of the city. The Subway on Canal Street is only a five minute walk. Breakfast is taken in a cafe along the road from the hotel. The staff are really friendly and it's frequented by working New Yorkers, so much more atmosphere than a hotel restaurant. Really easy to walk to many sights from the hotel.
Parking was very close and got a discount for staying at the hotel. Location in Chinatown Large Room with good view Free breakfast Close to subway.
People were knocking on our door after 11pm No complimentary toiletries (toothbrush/paste) Shower leaked excessively Very, very soft bed, woke up with a back ache.
Location Facility Staff Ambience
Mattress lumpy and contoured No A/C ability to set room temp. Had to open windows to cool off- noise from streets
-no wifi -no exhaust fan in washroom -oriental music playing outside -staff was rude and unhelpful -no complimentary water -no bellboy -difficult to get a taxi
Good hotel, comfortable and hassle free
If you travel by taxi it's not the easiest to get to
The queen beds were very comfortable. Great Chinese food right around the corner.
Wifi was unreliable in our room.
The location was excellent. You have a park across the street. Clean facilities. Very friendly staff. Good breakfast at a place nearby. The bed was extremely comfortable and the room was quiet for being NYC.
The wifi was very slow. It was a bit expensive for what you get and the room was a bit on the small side, but that's NYC.
