The manager was great had travelled from San Francisco and wanted to go whale watching on arrival he phoned and got us on the boat within an hour.we got upgraded for a second night at same price which was a bargain. Big big thank u
Nothing service excellent
Liked the location and parking availability.
The pictures are deceiving. The room looked nothing like the advertisements. The room needs a New paint and New furniture.
The tall wood ceilings and fireplace and spacious room
Room old and outdated...needs new carpet, furnishings, curtains, good mattress. Overall, the price doesn't support the quality of the room.
- basic roomy hotel room with expected amenities - gas fireplace in room was a plus!
- a little off the "beaten path" -- it's not possible to walk to the main tourist locations in Monterey from here - no restaurants in the immediate area; need to get in the car to get to a restaurant - I had to change my reservation (reduce my stay by a day) and ended up paying practically the same amount for a single night as I originally would have for two night; found the room for the fact that it was a basic hotel room a little outrageous.
The staff person Richard very friendly. The room was spacious and quiet. The mattress was firm and comfortable.
The price seemed high especially since their is no pool or air conditioning.
The staff was rude and the continental breakfast included Sunny Delight and plastic wrapped danishes. The room was old and filthy, the beds were rock hard and the walls were so thin we could hear our neighbors all night. It was equivalent to a Motel 6 in the middle of Nevada, and they had the nerve to charge us $500 for 2 nights. Will never stay there again and frankly would have changed hotels if there were rooms available elsewhere.
The bathroom was spacious. The bed seemed clean and was mostly comfortable.
The walls looked as though someone had kicked holes in them and that patch job was poor at best. They didn't even bother to spot paint. The carpets were atrocious. I was afraid to walk on them with bare feet. Everything had dust on it. The television was from the 90's. Hell, all the furniture looked like it was from the 90's
Our room was weirdly shaped, not cozy. The breakfast was substandard.. Nothing to choose from. The coffe was o.k. We ended up going out for breakfast.
Balcony, huge room with high ceiling and Electric Fire place in it, male evening staff ( I think from Fidji?) was very friendly and helpful
Whole room was run down, dirty carpet, needs to be painted, I think they have different rooms, some seemed better renovated to me than ours, so check it out, "Breakfast" is not a real One, it's just coffee, juice and raisin snail
Location was close to downtown and Del Monte shopping center. The room had a gas fireplace which in cooler weather would add to cuddling and deep thoughts.
the room air was stagnant enough I had to purchase a fan just to move air to keep room comfortable.
the price was excellent for the kind of room we got and location
the breakfast wasn't much of a selection, apples and granola bars
Across street from park, room like new with vaulted ceiling.
Big room, good area, very queit place
The "breakfast" was nothing more than a cofee and muffin. I would not call that breakfast.
Tired room in need of upgrading, very basic.
Large window in roof with no blind.
close to town and events good location hotel sort of under construction
The staff friendly, and good location walking distance for breakfast
- friendly personnel - located about 2 miles away from the aquarium (we walked)
- WLAN was sometimes very poor
The staff was friendly and helpful. He exchanged the room we had been assigned to from upstairs to downstairs.
Good room with a fireplace. Which gave it a cozy feel at night with the fireplace on. Not 5 star but a good solid 3 because it was clean and a good bargain.
TV can do with some updating and there were a few flying critters flying by the window on top but that was it.
Poor and overpriced. No curtain on top window. Not cosy.
I liked how the layout of the room and how clean everything was.
Small parking lot hard to get in and out. If your a new driver don't go here since it's really cramped with cars.
Good overall value
Very poor wifi.
The room was very nice.
Someone kept trying to come in my room. My key stopped working before it was time to check out
Staff was so friendly and accomodating! The rooms upstairs are beautiful and include vaulted ceilings, a fire place and are fairly large as well. The location is perfect as it is only 2 miles from Cannery Row!
The lobby offers a good variety of morning beverages and apples, but I would have loved to see some bagels for those who don't prefer pastries for breakfast.
pretty much everything -- clean, great staff.
