This hotel is pretty banged up...On the facade it looks good but a closer look shows cracks in the tile, the pool is horrifying and the beds feel like you're sleeping in Jello they're so soft
I liked the location of the place, right on the water
Lots was under construction. Out tub filled with water when you showered so you were sloshing around I ankle deep water but it was a great location!
Our view was amazing! The A/C was always cold, lots of T.V Chanels, convient parking, and it was very affordable!
Wifi only available in the lobby area.
Location is near airport.
Everything was tile. Cold hard floors.
lack of eating facility
location, faciloity, handycapped parking
The beds didn't have comforters. no table to eat on as if we were in a jail cell with a view....No wonder why this hotel went out of buisness..I will never stay there again I would have rather camped on the beach...
There is no restaurant in the hotel and none within easy walking distance.
Right on the waterfront. Good view Good walking trails along the waterfront. Staff is upfront about ongoing renovations and go out of their way to minimize the inconvenience. Rooms are not elaborate but are comfortable.
No tel to contact reception. No wifi and no restaurant.
Good value for the price very clean
We loved the view from our room.
Well" No Glass No Wifi No service no cups No fridge. No Food any where. Dirty Rooms and Windows
The Bed was Good
Kinda run down.
The corner ocean view room was really cool, and had a great balcony and awesome view!
The hotel didn't have a breakfast service, there was a coffee machine in the room but no coffee. They did offer complementary coffee in lobby and it was really good.
The location and the view are great! Free parking.
Lack of towels and other daily services to room; no restaurant on sight.
Location near parks, markets, restaurants and shopping.
wifi limited to first 2 floors, elevators outdated.
Ocean view was great. Wa king up looking at the snow. Covered mountain, close to airport, and sight seeing.
The building is undergoing renovations, so it looks shabby, but all of that may change once the renovations are completed. The bathtub drain was clogged with hair when I arrived (although that was quickly remedied). The air conditioning was not working, but that was okay because it was chilly in Hilo during my stay.
the room was clean and tastefully, if spartanly, appointed. The staff was very responsive when I asked for an additional blanket and reported that my drain was clogged. The location was convenient to both downtown Hilo and the roads leading to neighboring tourist destinations.
Old and kinda scary
Cold hard floors. No decor or color in the room. Bare white walls & blonde wood closet & drawers. No drapes, but large blonde wood panels for window shades. Two large paintings were a feeble attempt at decorations. Not at all inviting. or cozy. Ice machine out of order, no coffee for pot in the room. Would not stay there again.Definitely NOT high class...barely o.k.
Nice view & a positive referral to the Hilo Bay Cafe, which was the highlight of our trip...A long way to go for a good meal!!!
Very very disappointed. Worst place ever.Staff were not friendly or helpful and were condescending. Room nothing like pic. very small and dirty. every worn out. Walked in and straight back out. couldn't even stay one night. Smelt like a mens change room after a football team. Do not even contemplate staying.
Not a bad experience, but the WiFi was as if someone was TORRENTING OFF THE SYSTEM even if no one else was in the lounge provided.
Location was perfect to walk into Hilo. View was perfect. My girlfriend felt as safe as at our own home.
dusty vents in the lobby and hallway. dirty shower curtain, dirty bedcover, ants in coffee area in room
the pool, garden and views
This hotel was probabably built in the 60s or 70s and feels outdated. The furnishings are so spartan that the room felt empty. The hotel is undergoing extensive renovation at the moment so most of its services and facilities are curtailed or not available at all. In fact most of the hotels along Banyan Drive seem to be undergoing similar renovation, and the closest working restaurant was 2 hotels away.
The harborfront garden. The room was clean and had a nice view, even though we booked the cheapest room and not paying extra for the view.
No WiFi, really bad TV reception, cleanliness of room was average. The room stated it had a microwave which it didn't and when we asked we were told no rooms come with microwave, so very misleading in room photos and write up of facilities.
The view was absolutely amazing. Staff friendly and quite helpful.
The place is under construction. Half of the property is inaccessible. The rooms were only half finished, never did get a full set of bath linen. No wifi, no phone, no restaurant, air conditioner sounded like a diesel truck, pool was not nice.
Great location, price was why we stayed.
Sliding glass door had no lock, had a problem getting clean linen for bed, had a problem getting towels, no wifi in rooms only in common area, Had a microwave at the front desk and common room only. Room was small for the money paid, very limited place for unpacking clothes in suitcase. There was a small pool, but we did not go in as it looked dirty. Lots of construction.
Location was nice as it was close to many things and had a refrigerator in room.
