The staff did the best with what they were able. The small store next door made agreat samdwiches.

It was sort of like a hotel from a bad movie. Run down, elevators seemed unsafe. No lights in the stairwells so I couldn't avoid the elevators. No printer to print my boarding passes - who sends out a printer for repair when they cost so little? No real facilities. Not within walking distance of anything. I tyhought a "resort" hotel would be more than an old facility which in it's day may have been something.

The location is good, rooms are clean and the staff friendly.

The room itself was nice and clean, the view was lovely, although spare and small

The common areas were dirty, I understand that you are in the middle of renos but I don't think that excuses it being dirty. For instance, in the elevator on the vents there was lint/dirt hanging down, the pool deck was filthy and needed to be pressure washed.

1st Room totally unacceptable. 2nd room better but poorly designed and renovated. Place looks like it has potential but needs major coordinated regeneration. Doesn't appear they have the money to upgrade properly so its being done somewhat by piece meal but overall results are terrible.

The mold growing on the exterior walls...the open ceiling structure with rain pouring into a bucket in the lobby corridor.. The rudeness of the hotel management... The current owner has filed chapter 11...bankruptcy..that should paint the picture accurately!

Location was good.

It was dirty from outside to inside. It looked like it was a mental hospital that was converted to hotel. No wifi in the room, you had to go to the lobby to use wifi. Thank God I chose room only and no breakfast as the food didn't look appetising at all.

Some of the staff were friendly and I slept good, so I guess the bed was comfortable. The bathroom looked nice, but didn't feel too clean.

The building and rooms are in bad shape. Very disappointing. If I knew that that's what I was getting for my money, then I would've never paid that much to stay there. That place needs A LOT of work and renovations.

Hotel was poorly maintained, elevator in bad shape, rusty furniture in public area, rooms uncomfortable, loud, definitely not cozy.

We were really disappointed with our stay at this run down depression era motel, not hotel. The pictures of the remodeling inside of the rooms were accurate. The bathroom was nice. That was the miss leading part. Not disclosure of the general run down, musty, filthy hallways, elevators. We feared the railing might collapse on our ocean front room. Really put out by horribly unwelcoming staff. They acted as if we were a burden simply by being there to pay for a room! These things could have been overlooked except for the extremely high price we paid to stay. This was supposed to be the "nice" hotel in Hilo". So we were willing to pay more. Never again. I saw the other hotels and they looked just as bad but far less expensive. Now I know we would only stay in a highly rated Bed & Breakfast next time in Hilo.

Rooms are nicely done and very comfortable. Staff is friendly and helpful. Location is excellent for Hilo and volcanoes visting. Parking is OK.

Common areas need lots of work. Food services need to be developed. Really need a good solid coffee shop type facility that serves 3 meals. Nothing fancy but good selection of staples at competitive prices. The AM continental and buffet breakfasts are a start.

Room was big, clean, and comfortable. Location is ok, easy to find.

1. At the check in I was given an attitude. 2. The breakfast was horrible - one half-disabled woman was serving the entire line, she was barely moving. The selection of the "free" breakfast items was poor, coffee and muffins. Everything was gone, and people were waiting for the staff to replenish them for long time. For the $10 breakfast you would get some eggs, but be prepared to stay in long line, since the same lady is making them for you!! 3. All public spaces are soooo dated, some drywall was falling off in the corridors.

Close to airport. Free parking. Good for one night stay. Breakfast was sufficient.

Hotel is dated. Hotel hard to find in the dark as it is set back a little from the road and the name is nor illuminated. They should shine a spotlight on it.

continental breakfast was terrible. right out of costco but not even that good. private parties going upon arrival and parking was a major issue.

The view from the ocean side rooms was spectacular. The check in staff (Wendy) did a great job checking us in with a long line, she was very friendly and helpful. The room was remodeled and very bright and cheery, the white bedding was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. We made the decision to stay over in Hilo at the last minute and it was the only place that was available and aren't sorry that we decided to stay there.

Parts of the hotel were somewhat outdated and run down, but it appeared that it is being worked on. I hadn't stayed at a hotel that used real keys in a long time.

This place should be renovated and ran by someone who will give you what you pay for? The first key we received was for a room in use... I went back to the front desk and simply said that, while adding I requested a king bed. In result we went up two more floors without any sort of discount. The only furniture that was in our room was the bed... Ridiculous

Room was clean

The front desk staff was rude to my partner when we were checking in. Later, I went down to get the wifi password and the person at the desk was treated me as if I was trash. I have stayed at your hotel in the past and found your staff to be friendly and pleasant. What has changed? We don't intend to stay with your hotel again.

It was only 2 miles from ITO. Take the helo ride over the volcanoes. The main road to Volcanoes N.P. and Mauna Loa macadamia farm was at the entrance road. Very convenient. The views are spectacular. I would definitely recommend Naniloas to anyone going to Hilo.Will stay there when I go back.

They are in the midst of refinancing. Many of their amenities are not open.They don't have a restaurant. The continental breakfast should be skipped. Blah. Good coffee though. They don't have wi-fi in rooms, though they lend you an ethernet cable which was definitely ok.

The terrace near the main lobby was lovely for watching things outside, and reading in the evening. The bathroom was clean and updated.

The rooms were sparse, beds were uncomfortable, tv was in a weird spot, not enough towels, not enough cups for coffee, no chairs in rooms. Spent the evening in the lobby where is was more comfortable. Overall, the hotel is outdated and uncared for. It has the bones of a once nice facility, but now there is nothing to do. There is a pool, but no lounge chairs.

The hotel is located in a beautiful and very quiet (to Kona) Hilo. Excellent room furnishing, beautiful garden & unique sounds coming from singing frogs(!!!) at evening hours. Thank you!

It was nicely located and on the water with pretty tropical views. It was budget friendly and good enough to stay in again.

It was tired and undergoing a cheaply done renovation. The plywood linings made for the elevators were poorly cut. The tiling around the tub was a frame built up around what must have been the original 1960s tub. The TV shelving/desk/draw combination was made out of light cabinet grade plywood and looked that way. It looked like the renovation was designed by an amateur and constructed of "big box home improvement" lower end products. The paint halfway up the hotel was not redone and streaked with what looked like years of dirt or black mold.
