Location, food, service and owner was over the top in service
Nantucket Inn is close to shopping and activities, is a charming house with large rooms, comfortable beds and nice showers.
We arrived at 4:00 pm - the designated check in time - but the doors were locked and there was no one to greet us. We finally had to call the owner/manager and were directed to a lock box for our key. We chose not to eat there the next morning because of the filthy pile of dishes and pans in the basement kitchen. We would not return nor would we recommend this B & B to anyone.
The hosts were kind and warm, the rooms were clean and comforting. I could not have asked for a better stay.
I could hear some street noise, but it was brief and minor. I still slept like a baby.
Everything was great. Great owners and nothing went unnoticed for our needs.
owner was great and an excellent cook.
price was a little high for this late in the year but it was Oyster weekend and rooms were hard to come by.
Beautiful place, Matt, Karen and James are truly amazing people. They are great host, they make you feel like home. Breakfast is delicious, can't wait to go back again. Aline and Darryl.
Matt and James very welcoming and attentive and flexible. Good time good conversation good breakfast. Very relaxing. Jeanne, Scottsdale
it was like the B&Bs we visited in Ireland. Very well done!
Having to leave.
friendly innkeepers nice room garden view close to activities quiet nice bed
whats not to like
James and Matt were excellent hosts! They made us feel at home like we were visiting old friends. The rooms are beautiful with great attention to detail. Couldn't recommend Nantucket more highly!
Matt was an excellent host. Easy access to room with walker. Good recommendation for dinner. Good directions to bank and ferry. Great breakfast. Friendly guests.
Full length mirror would be nice.
Very friendly service.
the kitchen smelled like urine which came from the bathroom off the kitchen. It was not clean I checked it out. The kitchen was also iffy. It needs a good cleaning. The carpet on the stairs was filthy
Really, honestly everything. First time we stayed in a bed and breakfast and it was a great experience. I liked the personal family touches around the Inn it wasn't too much and just enough to give you a "welcome to me home" feeling. Food was great, room was beautiful. Owners/Inn keepers genuinely care about their place and the guests who stay there.
Nothing. This will be my place of choice when going to Anacortes from now on. :)
The staff were friendly. Breakfast was outstanding! The house has lots of character and charm.
While our "room" was clean, I didn't find the rest of the house to be in the same condition. We were brought in through the back door, with a very small entry way therefore it was cumbersome getting the suitcases in and up the stairs. I'm puzzled as to why we were directed to use the back door, since the house has a beautiful front porch and large entry way. The back door itself was dirty, making me not want to touch the door handle. The lino floors on the entry stairs and in the kitchen were dirty, with a significant buildup of dirt around the edges and in the corners. The carpet on the stairs up to the bedrooms was disgusting! Very soiled and dirty. Definitely did not want to take my shoes off to walk on that carpet. The bathroom had zero counter space to place toiletry items, and while there was a wicker shelve outside of the bathroom, it was inconvenient. I had already undressed ready to get into the shower, then realized there was no blow dryer in the room, so had to get dressed and look for someone to get me one. There is no air conditioning in the room, and while fans are provided, we found it very warm and uncomfortable for sleeping.
Excellent staff. Very welcoming and accommodating. Immediately upgraded us to a nicer room when we arrived. Very comfortable and homey setting, beautiful grounds.
Minor, but could have used more counter space for toiletries in the bathroom.
owner is an executive chef and made breakfast every morning. Also gave great advise as to where to eat out
This should be labeled as a B&B, a nice place to stay but not what I expected
Everything! The facilities were warm and inviting, what you would expect in a classy home like Nantucket Inn. The location was perfect, close to town and all the goings on. Matt and Carlen were wonderful and made us fell so welcome. We were even upgraded to the lovely honeymoon suite to help us celebrate our 35th wedding anniversary. Without a doubt this is the place to stay in Anacortes. Looking forward to going back soon!
Nothing. Facilities, food, chief, & location were great!
Matt was very helpful in giving us ideas as were to eat and what to see
The proprietor was very personable and a wonderful host. We have been wanting to stay at the inn for a long time and it was more than we could have asked for.
Matt, the inn keeper, was very nice and accommodated all of the needs of a larger family with young children. The room was spacious and comfortable and his cooking was great as well!
Before we arrived we were upgraded to a much nicer room on the third level. It felt like a private honeymoon for my boyfriend and I; it was so nice we didn't want to leave the room for our other planned activities! The room was very clean, and it was easy to come and go as we were given both a room key and a key to the house. There was some noise from the traffic on Commercial Ave, but since our bed was on the other side of the room it was perfect since my partner likes to sleep with a bit of noise (He has tinnitus). The regular owners were vacationing in Portland for the weekend, so Ben and his girlfriend were taking care of the place. They did a very good job making us feel welcome, and breakfast the next morning was excellent too!
If there had not been other guests in the main living area, we would have been greatly confused as there were no staff on the premises when we arrived at 3:45pm. Also if our bed had been on the side of the house next to Commercial Ave, it would have been too noisy to sleep.
The bedroom was clean.
No security the house was left open all day and the owners were not there. The entrance and hallway carpet were filthy. They are clearly running a catering business in the basement, loud music, cooking smells. Breakfast was at 0830 no flexibility, presumably due to their other business. We tried to pay Friday and the owner said no, we are here from 5am. We tried to leave at 0645, the house was wide open and deserted. We went and paid for breakfast, came back at 0730, the house was wide open and deserted, so we left.
