The name is a grandiose over-reach. There are no visible palms, and it looks like an old motel somewhat remodeled. The TV in our room was a 30-inch standard-def CRT unit the likes of which I haven't seen in 15 years. I didn't try watching HBO (who would, on such a screen?) but the channel list lacks ESPN and a few minutes after we turned it on to watch local news, the picture started to roll and flicker. The vent fan in the bathroom was on its last legs and emitted a scary rumble. The security gate access to the very tiny swimming pool was disabled so it couldn't lock. If all rooms were full there would not be enough parking spaces (but there's a big parking garage across the street). We didn't try the wi-fi.
We stayed here in order to attend a concert at "City Winery" on Main street. This location was extremely convenient, less than 5 minutes to stroll to Main, 2 minutes to amble up to First for all the shopping there. Probably less than a 10-minute stroll to the big Riverfront complex. Also, parking is off-street, and the building and room were properly maintained, clean, and quiet. So you know, "meets minimum requirements".
