“ The restaurant had a lot of warmth filled with nice timbers and decorations. Next door, as a really special surprise was the Sugar Valley Railroad with an old working steam locomotive. The whole experience was totally cool. ”

Very close to the park entrance. Spacious room. Convenient. Only one table indoors for breakfast with 4 chairs for all the guests. This is only a minor issue as you can eat outside (which we did as the day was nice) or you can eat in your room. I just thought it was odd.

The restaurant for dinner was good. There was very little room to have the included continental breakfast, but they provided trays so that you could take your breakfast back to your room. The king bed was very comfortable. It was good value for money. It is still quite a way to drive to get to the main Yosemite valley, but given the value for money price it is certainly worth staying.

Only a few miles from the southern entrance to Yosemite, yet surrounded by stunningly beautiful forrest, The Narrow Gauge Inn takes full advantage of its location with private balconies off of every room allowing for a full Yosemite experience... at a very affordable price. The restaurant blew us away... we had fresh trout and venison, cooked to perfection. Would I prefer to stay at the Yosemite Lodge? No way! I'll return to The Narrow Gauge Inn every time!

Liked the view and the restaurant. The woman who helped with the breakfast was lovely, very friendly and helpful. Absolutely HATED all the cigarette smoke that came into the room, we were surrounded by people on patios smoking incessantly. Really stank up the room. Also couldn't sleep most of the night with all the bright lights shining through the upper part of the windows.

This was our second stay at the Inn. We wanted to share again the friendly atmosphere, the delicious dinners, comfortable accomodations, and the mountain's trees and clean air. The train ride is a unique experience.

Good geographical location, friendly personnel, friendly athmosphere Very little noise isolation between rooms.. I could hear my neighbours snoaring, and the only way to hear TV is to Watch the same channel as the adjacent room.. Wireless Internet didn't work during my stay. Only 3 breakfast tables for the whole place, you either wait or take it to your room

Room 40 was a lovely upgrade surprise. Thank you!! We would like to return when the pool, hot tub and restaurant are open. It would be nice to offer a more substantial breakfast.

We loved the charm and unique setting and accommodations. It is quiet and peaceful, a place of real character as opposed to the average, run-of-the- mill chain. Yet, the price was comparable. We stayed here last June, when the lovely gardens were in bloom. It is so pleasant to walk along the little stream and enjoy the handiwork of a master gardener. Someday, we'd like to stay for a week, just relaxing and breathing in the simplicity and loveliness. The basket of breakfast goodies was a nice surprise and we appreciated the channels available for the flat-screened television. We also appreciated the books available in the room that described the local area and the 15% discount coupon for the gift shop. No bathtub!!! The walls are pretty thin . . . some guests next door were pretty noisy at 4:00 a.m.

The overall look of Inn, very calm and nicely designed, fitting its surroundings, natural. Breakfast was not very impressive. Dont know whether it gets any better during season but having to walk for the hot drinks up to the front desk and than eating at a small table back in the room was not very comfortable.

The Staff- super friendly & accommodating. Gorgeous, Secluded Location The Gift Shop rocks and guests get a discount per item! Prices for rooms are affordable. All rooms have decks with stunning views. Easy to get down to the town of Oakhurst and to Yosemite National Park. The walls are super thin. One night I was kept awake from a loud snoring, and another night I woke up to a baby crying. You'll also be able to hear people's televisions and personal conversations.

The Staff The Beautiful Surroundings The Gift Shop The Location The Price Feeling welcomed and cared for by anyone who worked there. The walls are thin. I was kept awake one night (most of it) by loud snoring from next door. Also, you can hear others' televisions and personal conversations. They completely close down at 8. A friend who was trying to visit me could not get anyone to lead her to me. I had given her name and approx. arrival time.

I loved the cozy and homegrown nature of the place. The restaurant feels like a carefully restored swiss eatery and bar with great lighting, good food and friendly service. There ara a lot of taxidermied animals on the wall, but they are well kempt and noble rather than moth-eaten. The bed was comfy, the little seating area outside the room was pleasant. The trees were amazing. It felt the opposite of corporate, yet well-cared for. I didn't understand how far outside of Yosemite Valley the inn was. A little farther jaunt to get to the valley then I expected.

Very quaint and old fashioned in woodland setting. Poor tired rooms with very thin walls. Small rooms, not very comfy beds which made a lot of noise when you turned over and poorly made up, e.g. sheets and blankets over to one side and not reaching down to bottom of bed. Moved rooms due to very bad noise from next room 2nd room was better as rooms on either side were empty. We were given a reduction in our room rate but that didn't make any difference to the poor quality of the rooms.
