The location and the Decour
We booked a two bedroom and none was available so the sleeping accommodations were not satisfactory. It appears others that booked a two bedroom as well and were forced into a one bedroom. They put us in a room by the elevator which was very noisy all night long
The staff was marvelous -- friendly and efficient. We chatted with Charmaine and Will and told them we were celebrating my partner's birthday in New Orleans and they sent up a basket of NO goodies on that day. Our room was huge and beautiful, with comfortable furniture. The hotel has marvelous style and is in a great location in the French Quarter.
Not much! There could have been a little more closet and drawer space in the bedroom for a week-long stay.
Very good location & friendly/helpful staff.
Poor wi-fi, loud traffic noise on 2nd floor.
This property is beautiful, very much like a boutique hotel. The design and decor of the lobby and guest rooms are unique. The rooms are clean and provides a very comfortable feel for your stay. In addition, the staff, especially Charmaine and Will were phenomenal. They were extremely attentive to our needs and went above and beyond ordinary service to make our experience a pleasant one.
I did not like the fact that there were several rodents on/in the property. The first rodent was seen on the rooftop while my friends and I were enjoying a few drinks. Later that evening, a rodent was dashing in and out of several spaces in our one bedroom suite. Luckily, the staff was able to accommodate us with another room (we didn't have the choice to stay at a different hotel because the weekend was book due to a music festival). In addition, management was somewhat apologetic for the incident, but made excuses for the presence of the rodent (attributing its presence to local restaurants and construction). I would recommend there be a warning in the event that they have the problem in the future. In that case, a guest can determine whether they are willing ot take the risk of staying there or choose different accommodations.
The staff were very friendly especially Will. He welcomed us with a nice smiled and assist us with our bag. I also like that the hotel allowed us to store our luggage until our room was ready.
I didn't not like that we, along with other guests had to wait until 4 pm to check-in although I arrived 6 hours earlier. Because everyone had to wait to check-in at the same time, it took us 40 minutes to get our room key and our luggage.
The overall decore was appealing and location is central to everything that we needed.
Our group had two suites to accomodate us for the Essence Festival. We saw a mouse on the rooftop and a mouse in one of the rooms. The front desk was able to switch rooms due to the complaint. I understand it is the French Quater and there may be an issue with mice etc. for a mouse to be in an actual room indicates that there is a problem with them that needs to be addressed better especially given the high cost for the room for the special holiday.
The location - walking access to the French Quarter as well as the riverfront and many restaurants within a several block radius. Close to the French market & Bourbon Street but not noisy at night or in the hotel. We loved the character of the hotel itself, and it has modern conveniences and free wifi - which is part of what sold us in the first place. The staff was friendly & helpful and we liked the sundecks and our stay overall. Would stay there again for them price (hope the price doesn't go any higher though otherwise we would likely choose one with a parking garage in the same range & area )
Parking was a challenge -virtually no parking on the street near the hotel & hauling bags from several blocks away was a pain. They do have a valet service -but your car is parked in an open parking lot somewhere several blocks away as well... Not sure if its actually the same cost per day if you park it there yourself or not...? If we came again we would likely not stay there if we were planning to have a rental car for sightseeing due to the parking difficulty. Very nice location to walk from to go sightseeing of the area & to go on tours & shopping though just the same. C&K from Grande Prairie, Alberta, Canada.
Location and decor with the New Orleans flare feeling that we got from staying there. And if one was looking for a club/time share I'd recommend this
Room had a lot of street noise but over all our stay. But other than this we loved our stay and our room.
1) Location was great. 2) Cleanliness. 3) Great rooms.
1) Not having room service. 2) Not having complimentary water bottles. 3) No wifi connection last day and problem was not resolved.
When choosing this location, I searched high and low for the perfect hotel. Me and my husband of 10 years was celebrating our anniversary and I wanted it to be a memorable and enjoyable trip! When we arrived we were astonished at the location, decor, and the staff. The rooms were absolutely perfect. The balcony and rooftop was a hidden jewel. And most of all the staff which we had the pleasure to interact with, was outstanding! Can't wait to go back!!
The hotel is in a great location and the rooms are very nice.
There were difficulties with the billing, which could not be resolved. We were constantly promised service that never happened. Rooms are not serviced, but this is not explained, and when service was requested, it was not done.
The location is great in the French Quarter, everything within walking distance, the hotel is cosy and comfortable. Good place if you are looking for fun, not so ideal if you are on a business trip and need to sleep during the night.
I was there for 6 nights, there was never any room service (no fresh towels, bed was never made in 6 days, coffee/tea never refilled) although I had asked for it twice and was promised service. Some of the staff are passive aggressive, esp. after I was charged one extra night, and it was difficult to get the money back. WIFI does not work on the fourth floor (room 406).
Great location staff and room.
Nothing it was a great stay and good value
When checking out the hotel tried to charge full rate. When I mentioned I had got a better rate the desk through bookings she said I would have to contact bookings I asked if they did not honor thier rates. Only after I showed them my e-mail confirmation and insisted on the manager be consulted did they finally agree to a refund. The clerk seemed to be upset with having to give the refund. If this is any indication of how booking.com transactions are honored I may be reluctant to use again.
Staff were amazing. So friendly and welcoming. The hotel was decorated beautifully! Location is ideal.
I enjoyed everything here but, although it didn't bothered me, it can be quite noisy on a night with people and traffic.
