Need to have better internet.
Location was perfect, it was extremely quiet, really liked the dark wood floors and white bedding. Very attractive. First time staying at this hotel and will probably stay there every time if possible. :-)
Being on the third floor an water pressure in shower.
Very quint and beautiful, gorgeous balcony room.
The hotel next door Omni removed their metal trash containers for 20 minutes at 5:45 am and it woke my son and I up on Friday and Sumday morning, very very loud! Also, our toilet overflowed and it was hard to get someone to take care of it, when they did it was 11:00 and all they did was put down towels, no mopping or real cleaning and said the cleaning staff would take of it in the morning, gross.
Staff was friendy and room was clean and comfortable!
Cute, clean pool
No psring lot across the street $40/night, continental breakfast was terrible
I chose to stay at St. Helene for location--I wanted to be in the heart of the French Quarter. Location was perfect and couldn't have been better. Hotel is simple, but perfectly sufficient--no bells and whistles, no more than a handful of English-speaking TV channels, no room service, no main lobby area (aside from a few couches and a check-in desk). Lastly, staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. Would stay again if looking for a well-priced choice.
Like many hotels in New Orleans, the hotel is loud. I was situated right near the staircase, and could hear other guests coming up/down the stairs all night/morning. Next time, I would ask for a back room. Lastly, the hotel had a sign on the door that read, "use the safe to lock personal belongings and please use both locks," but the hotel only provides digital keys. That was a little unsettling.
Great location and beautiful old world charm. Front desk staff was wonderful. Even with some problems I would stay there again.
Cleaning staff was remiss. No hair dryer, no toilet paper, no dusting, dead mosquitoes in hall, did not replace dirty towels once removed from the room, did not empty ice bucket.
Staff was super friendly, room was nice. Location was amazing.
Bed was uncomfortable, mattress sagged.
Size and visual effect of the entire property Lovely cold breakfast and goood coffee Pool and sitting area staff
The location is wonderful, and the décor is relaxing. Loved the comfy white linens, and the balcony over Chartres St.
Upon checking in, our room had not been cleaned yet, so I requested the other second floor French quarter balcony room, and it had been cleaned, but I wish it was cleaner. Dirt and grime on the beautiful white paint is very noticeable. We stayed for two days, and on the morning of our last day we took our luggage across the street to our vehicle in the parking garage because we were going to be somewhere at checkout time, but saw the maid in the hall and ask her NOT to clean our room yet. She agreed, but when we got back ten minutes later at 8:00, she had stripped the bed, poured our coffees down the drain and was using our toilet! How ironic that they couldn't even wait for us to checkout before cleaning our room, but initially checked us into the room that hadn't been cleaned when the other balcony room was clean and ready! When we complained about the housekeeper, we were told she doesn't speak English very well. I assume not at all!
It's a glorified hostel. You can hear guests coming and going...literally!
Great location just about two blocks from everything! Beautiful view of the cathedral from my balcony. Next time I'm in NOLA I'll be booking St. Helene #301 again!
Location, price was good in an overpriced market. Staff (Michelle) was really friendly and helpful.
Agree with another comment re the sitting area, same color as floor - definite fall hazard. Also I did tell staff that sink faucets would turn all the way around at times before turning on - and an old water leak left mold on the ceiling at entry to bathroom. They seemed genuinely concerned, so hope they fix.
Nothing to not like
The hotel is very charming and tastefully renovated. It was nice that they have a pool, however we didn't end up using it. It was nice that they had a little continental breakfast, but it was simply yogurt/granola, muffins & juice. The location is ideal!
The hotel is very noisy! We were woken up multiple times throughout the night from others just walking by and speaking with their "inside voices". Plus their was very loud construction being done right in the middle of the hotel that started around 10am. We originally booked for three nights, but left for another hotel after only one night. Getting a good nights rest is worth spending a little more money.
Very good location and good breakfast for continental type.
Bedroom did not have window with external view, only a window/door with view to the internal common area to access the bedrooms. No mention to it at booking.com.
location didn t have to drive anywhere everything was in walking distance
35.00 per day for parking
Incredible location, beautiful property, comfortable beds, great back garden with pool.
Paper thin walls on the first floor, so it could get loud with people coming in, no windows in our room
Excellent location right in the French quarter! Please to staff and a wonderful clean and cozy room. The courtyard was gorgeous with a quaint little pool. It really felt like being in Europe.
The location was good, parking across the street for 25$ per day if they have space. Room was clean, but small, they need more stands for luggage. Great food on every street.
The heat was not turned on to the temp control system. It was 56 degree in the room the First morning and 66 the second morning. To pricey for the room we had. I would stay just out side the french quart for less money and walk in, the area is not that big.
The staff was extremely helpful, made the transfer to a room I could use (See other comment on what I didn't like), and very knowledgeable about the area.
I had booked a second floor balcony room that would be handicap accessible, but the elevator described was not working. I picked this hotel because of the balcony room. The first floor patio room I received was very nice, although not handicap accessible, and I missed the balcony experience. It is my understanding there will be no working elevator until at least May and that it hadn't been available for some time. My reservation specifically requested a room close to the elevator.
Room was pretty dark with a view of the stairway.
We liked the outdoor area. it was a relaxing place to sit and take a break .
I would like the rooms to have had natural light.
Room was cell-like: no window. Hairpin on floor on arrival was still there four days later--floor not swept. No heat. Paltry "free" breakfast. Find someplace else.
the location, how quiet it was considering the location, the staff were helpful
no window to open to get fresh air, the a/c didn't work very well - but I didn't complain either
