The shower pressure was poor, the safe wasn't fixed to the wall.
The staff were friendly and professional, the location of this small hotel was fantastic. The room I stayed in was at the back of the hotel, with a balcony overlooking a small pool. Its was quite even though the French Festival was in full flow.
Because the hotel is in such a central location, it is very noisy, specially if you get a room facing the street. Wear earplugs and you'll be fine.
Location is great next to everything. Traveled for Easter weekend and was abel to watch a parade from the balcony while having breakfast.
Rooms are small for the price paid. Twice I reported a loose fawcett in sink and a water bubble in bathroom ceiling. Nothing was done/repaired. It rained one morning and the only place to sit for breakfast is in the outdoor patio. Pool needs major repainting - looks very dirty. Beware of a city tax of $1.00/night not included in Booking.com final cost. No elevator so make sure you don't stay in the 3rd flr.
The location is superb. Close to everything yet in a relatively quiet area. Staff is very helpful and go out of their way to please. Bed very comfortable. Nice sofa in room. WiFi is excellent and free. Our request for connecting rooms was honored. Great towels.
Parking doesn't exist and Paid parking is $35-40 a day. The a/c was either on or off.. no in between... had to shut it off after it got to 57 degress.. brrr..
Located 1 1/2 blocks from Jackson Square. Can't get any closer than that.
Hot water was a little slow in the shower.
close to everything we wanted to do in the French Quarter, yet quiet. Lovely courtyard. Great continental breakfast/snacks. "Wyatt" was exceptional! Room was spacious for an older property.
Location. Location. Location. Tucked away nicely in the French Quarter, but still steps away from all the action. You truly receive the best of both worlds at this spectacular placed boutique upgraded hotel!
Noise all night. Balcony faces back of Omni Hotel where they have their garbage cans. Plus very squeaky bed (bring your WD-40) and took 5 min to get hot water.
Perfect location with balcony looking at St. Louis Cathedral down Chartres.
It's a bit expensive. TV signal is not good enough. The TV remote is very dirty.
Down town busy street, my room is facing the yard which is quite. room is spacious. good facility and kind satff.
Location was great! Staff great!!
The convince of not having to drive anywhere. Everything we needed was walking distance.
The late check in time
I like the location, I like to feel like I'm in a old place but you have the amenities of a new updated place ...
The small bathroom Bed was rough Thin walls Sheets were dirty
Could use some quicker wifi, other than that everything was perfect!
Staff was friendly, clean room and couldn't ask for a better location.
The only down side was having to climb 4 flights of stairs to get to the room after walking around all day. We were on the 3rd floor. However I think it helped even things out for the rich food.
i treated myself and my 15 year old son to a 3 day vacation here. It was great!! The staff was available 24 hours and happy to answer any questions. We were able to check in a little early which was great after driving 12 hours to get there. The room was cozy which was a plus after exploring all day. I would definitely stay there again.
The bed we had the first night was terrible. It seems to have been an old mattress that sagged and hurt my wife's back. Fortunately, we were moved to another room the second night, and the staff was very helpful with this.
Location, price, and very friendly and helpful staff.
How thin the walls were, we could hear our neighbors talking and some people weren't courteous about trying to not slam their doors. I understand that with these old buildings, sound proofing was important back in the day. Minor problem. The thing I hated most was the rug under the bed. It was terribly uncomfortable to walk on with bear feet. Luckily it was winter so easily solved by keeping my socks on :)
the location was great, we could walk everywhere. We were really close to Jackson Square and Bourbon Street. The staff was helpful, especially Wyatt, I only wish I would've talked to him more indepthly than on our last day. Our room was bigger than expected, the seating area was a great place for our suitcases.
Next door there was a very loud party taking place luckily stopped by 11 pm. Not having an elevator was a pain, since there was no one to take luggage up and down.
Local was very good, walking distance to many venues.
Being in the heart of the Quarter in a historic and classic boutique hotel.
Everything, was beyond excellent. Thanks
I would have liked to know more about the hotels history before it was a hotel
I loved that the Hotel St. Helene was not a traditional hotel. Very elegant. I loved that it felt like an old southern home straight out of the 1800s. And the coffee was delicious! Great staff. Very kind.
No easily available hot water even at breakfast time. Very annoying .
The room - clean , quiet, very relaxing cozy nook as sitting area within the room . Loved the crisp clean black and white decor.
The room was incredibly noisy from about 4am to 6am due to several garbage trucks right outside on my window. They were banging garbage cans and things in their trucks for 2 solid hours. The area is expected to have some traffic and moderate noise during the course of the night, but this was EXTREME. Very little sleep.
TV had some iffy reception, but I wasn't there to sit in the room and watch reruns.
Modern, uncluttered feel but with a sense of history. Location was ideal, and the staff was incredibly friendly. Even though I was in an interior room - had enough light.
The doors to the rooms closed very loudly. Which was annoying when trying to sleep.
We liked almost everything about the hotel except ......
We love playing tourist in our own city and this was one of the best experiences we have had so far. Love the location! Far enough from Bourbon to avoid noise and crowds, but close enough to enjoy all of the little boutique shops and everything New Orleans has to offer. Our room had the balcony looking over the courtyard and pool. We had the doors to the balcony opened most of the time when we were in the room to enjoy the weather and the music from the quarter.
