Staff was extremely accommodating and friendly. The building gave you a more apartment feel rather than just halls with rooms. Making new friends .
Water pressure in shower. No milk on breakfast bar.
An individual hotel rather than a chain with a Louisiana charm to it through the décor and furnishings. Two blocks and you are on Bourbon St.
We had an a-joining balcony but the door security was very poor to the balcony
The facilities in general were lovely - pool side, main building and the guest room we were in. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The room, especially the bed was comfortable. Location was good and we would recommend it to others.
We realize the buildings are old which adds to the charm, however, some attention to the bathroom in our room is needed - low water pressure, leaking toilet, cracked sink and very old flooring.
Breakfast was not what we were used to at most hotels. the room we were given was next to a street, very noisy. tv didn't work right, they didn't do any thing about it.
Great location, clean facility and room, good staff, decent continental breakfast and not any noise due to off season.
Did not like the hard mattress. Not the worst I slept on but for someone who likes a firm mattress this one was too much.
It was an easy walk to the various activities in the French Quarter
Extremely noisy at night. Water in the shower goes from hot to cold all the time. Beds were so hard that if felt like we were sleeping on the floor. The price was outrageous. I suggest staying somewhere else.
The lady at checkin was extremely nice and helpful. The two pools were very pretty and I loved the look of the hotel. The rooms were a nice size. It is nice having a bar in the hotel.
First the bathroom in our room could use a makeover. The shower is really small and looks dirty. The tiles need replaced. The pools could have used a cleaning. The was stuff at the bottom of it. And the beds were not all that comfortable. They were a bit hard. Also do not get a room with a window on the right side of the building. There is so much noise from people that we were up part of the night even though we were pretty far from the party scene.
Next to the french quarter but without his noise
Central location to French quarter. Reception staff were helpful.
A minute past 11.00am which was check out time, we were called several times from reception and house keeping knocked every 5 mins. We stayed on a Monday night off season and did not understand the necessity for this. If it a weekend , I would completely understand but not a Monday night.
We were originally lodged in a room near the pool where there was a lot going on (primarily a bachelor party). We requested a quieter room as we were staying for a week. They had a lovely room on the third floor (no elevator). We had a good workout getting there but the room was quiet and comfortable, even with a full house and road construction.
Closeness to the French Quarter
Balcony door cannot be closed tightly resulting excessive filtration of the traffic noise. No place to hang towels. No toilet brush. Lack of TV channel guide
Good Location. Close to Hop-on-Hop-off stop. Close to bus stop.
I received a huge telephone bill when I got back to Canada because the WIFI was so poor that my phone pushed everything to the cellular network and I was unaware that this was happening. Don't plan on staying in room 112 if you plan on using your computer. We were unable to connect in the room most of the time. For people staying more than a day or two it would really have been nice to have some variety in the continental breakfast….maybe some yogurt or dry cereal? Coffee pot was usually empty or the coffee in it so old that it was not drinkable. We has to ask several times for a pot of coffee to be made. Rooms don't have any amenities like fridge, coffee maker, iron or ironing board. Also our room was not cleaned at all on one of our days there. Staff in general was pleasant and helpful. I would not stay here again.
Interior check in area with nice fireplaces and seating area
I chose this hotel due to others not being available. It is quite a distance from the Quarter, not safe for walking. Beds were rock hard. My daughter and I both developed an itchy rash from the bedspread. The rooms were not cleaned one of the days we were there, and I overheard another guest with the same complaint. Mold was growing in an a/c duct. It was relatively expensive for the conditions of the rooms. I would not return.
the night life.and location.could walk to most places.the staff were great they got me a small fridge and a fan
the road works that started after I had arrived just outside my bedroom the price of parking you are paying a good price for the room it should be included.no fridge in the room and no safe
Staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Hotel was in a good location, not far from French Quarters. Hotel was clean and pool was inviting. Prompt food delivery from local restaurant. Overall a quiet, relaxing stay.
Bed in the room was too high. Room was on the third floor with no elevator. Could have had better breakfast. On-going construction right outside the hotel, only experienced it on Monday, but still an eye-sore.
The staff were really nice and helpful. The old southern style of the old section of the hotel was really beautiful. There was coffee and ice water available all day - which was really nice. It was 6 blocks from the French quarter.
My room was dirty. It looked like it hadn't had a good cleaning in a decade. The corners were so dusty and every time I put the bath mat on the floor it picked up huge dusty bunnies. The gate to the pool really needs some W40.
Relative convenience for walking to Bourbon Street / French Quarter. Staff were excellent
Pillows were flat and very uncomfortable.
100% New Orleans! The interesting people met at the complementary breakfast. The staff.
Bathroom needs a little more attention to cleaning detail.
Staff were all extremely helpful & friendly - easy access to Frenchmans St. Beautiful old residence full of original character
No lift for moving luggage upstairs ....very long staircases !
Everything, the location, staff, room, beds, cleanliness, breakfast, constant coffee available, 2 immaculate pools to choose from, extra towels supplied poolside, free computer access in the lounge, really private & secluded location only 10 mins walk from Bourbon Street. So good we booked another night's stay! We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone !
Really had to try and think of something and the only thing i could come up with was the parking charge per day.
Walking distance to French Quarter Nice Pool Good Breakfast Always water available Secure under ground parking available
Paper thin walls allow one to hear any communications next door- arguments seem to prevail!
The staff was unbelievable. They were so nice and helpful. Called us cabs, booked us tours, gave us maps with directions. The hotel was beautiful and charming. Very clean and location was perfect. I will always stay at this hotel when in New Orleans.
Staff was extremely helpful and very friendly. Breakfast was good however the eating area was a little tight - probably would have been fine if the weather was good but since it was raining, everyone stayed inside - but cozy is still good :) The location is great, off the main strip still very easy walk to Bourbon and Jackson Square and all other local tourist area's :)
just a little tight in the eating area for breakfast - but nothing that would keep me from staying here again :)
