“ I took a dorm and it all was very neat. The showers/bathroom was kept clean as well. They give you complementary earplugs as well in case you are bothered by other people snoring. Nice touch! ”

location, very clean, nice and friendly staff, comfy bed i wouldn't call these tiny cubicles rooms... it's just like a separated area of ca. 3sq m on an open space... you do have some privacy, but you can hear EVERY noise - other ppls' snoring, alarm clocks, door, music, etc.; the bathroom was on a different floor

Luxury Hostel - brilliant concept! On the whole everyone was very mature and the room where all the rooms were situated was kept very quiet. Showers and toilets kept very clean and were immaculate. Gorgeous decor throughout, lovely roof garden to spend 5 minutes away from the mayhem of NYC. Staff incredibly attentive and welcoming, so impressed by their professionalism. In a fantastic location that is a little away from the centre of manhattan, but in amongst a load of very good cafes and restaurants, as well as shops and galleries. Soho is a great place to stay. I loved the Bowery House and would definitely choose to stay there again. The walls of the rooms do not reach to the ceiling. and while the lattice work on the top of the walls do offer a bit of well needed air circulation, it does not stop sound travelling. They are more cubicles than rooms, but much better than sharing a huge dorm anyday.

Location. Staff. Clean bathroom and showers. Comfortable beds. Very nice rooftop relaxation spot. What can I say, It is a hostel. You can not complain about room with 6 bunk beds. Luggage storage after checkout was 10 USD regardless wheather it was 20 minutes or 24 hours (charge for 24 hours). I can not really imagine a situation in which could someone use 24 hours luggage storage after checkout. In common I think it takes 2-4 hours and 10 USD for that is bit too much.

The staff was friendly; the hostel was safe; the bathrooms were clean; they have a terrace which is very nice. The room size, they were like train compartments. The bed size was way too small. I'm a small guy and it was difficult for me as well. I won't recommend private room for anyone above 5'7. Also if you need a quite place, this is not it.

Front desk people are nice and helpful! I stayed in BH before and noticed a small but pleasant change: a list of recommended restaurants in the room. A couple of desks with chairs in the common area would be nice. Right now there is no place to sit and write, or rest a laptop if necessary. The cotton blanket is very thin. I felt cold for the most of the night, and I wore all my clothes. Same for all my dorm room neighbors, everyone was cold. It wasn't a problem in my winter stay at BH as the heating was on, but when the heater is off, there should be another blanket. My room (Elizabeth bunk) had a very noisy lock. There is no way to close the door quietly without disturbing other residents.

The sheets, floors, bathrooms were spotless. The front door was locked after dark. There was a doorman there from about 9 am or so until about 10 pm. He would help you carry bags up the stairs if you needed help. 1. The Bowery House is located next to a nightclub. On Saturday night, especially, the club was extremely loud and the noise carried through the alley, up to the windows. Amazingly, the staff desk in the reception area was quiet. 2. The plumbing for the showers is completely screwed up. Hot water came out in brief spurts. The water in the trough sinks took an hour to go down the drain. 3. This is a hostel. I don't mind the fact that the walls are open at the top and that you can hear people snore and talk. Earplugs take care of that. What earplugs can't absorb is the sound of constantly slamming doors. The doors slam too easily and make too much noise. 4. I could not find an outlet in my room. It would have been nice to be able to charge up my battery pack or electronic devices.

Staff is excellent. The room and bathroom are very clean. There's a roof top and a place to relax. There is no real roof in a lot of the single rooms, so you hear every one. I didn't get a good night sleep.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Clean and a good vibe. Open windows at night let a lot of traffic noise in. But that was a minor thing.

The Bowery house was a great place to stay. It was very clean and well kept, and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay there again. There weren't any lockers (with locks) provided in the rooms, and although the staff offered to hold my stuff in the office while I was out, I think the place would be even better if there were lockers.

The interior design and furniture is sophisticated and aesthetic. The rooftop garden is well decorated, maybe not the best view of the whole neighborhood but it is definitely a great place to chill out .

The location was fabulous; staff friendly; bathroom pleasant, loved the Red Flower products supplied; good reading light in bedroom; comfortable lounge for calls, etc. The night disturbances on 2 of 4 near neighbor had a loud voiced argumentative prostitute in his room. It took a long time for security to come, and they gave them 5 and then 10 more minutes to clear out. Also, the close quarters would probably be unbearably airless in summer.

The atmosphere when entering was pretty neat. It is DIRT cheap, and in a good location. It felt like I was staying in an internment camp. The room was just a bed and no real walls. They don't want you talking on your phone in the "room" so there isn't really any privacy. You can also hear every snoring person on the floor.

I thought it was very clean and the facilities were good. Location was also good and the staff were friendly. I wouldn't call what you offered, an "room" - that was just a whole lot of partitions put together, which had no roof part, meaning you may as well be sleeping in a dorm with everyone anyway - because you can hear everything. Definitely not value for money and quite misleading especially when ny Budget Inn charges the same with a proper room and even a tv. I also thought the $10 charge to hold onto luggage for a couple of hours pretty cheeky as well, most hotels never do that.

The staff was the most awesome group of people I've encountered in a good while. Extremely helpful is an understatement. The bathrooms were as pictured so that's a plus. No one said that the cabins had no roof and if some twit wants to spend all night crumpling paper then you'll have a problem. But there are some pretty great bars on the block so its easy to find a way to get around it

Not an awful lot! Staff were polite and location was good Everything about this 'hotel' is infuriating. Overpriced, dirty, tiny rooms and a website that is totally misleading. This is NOT a hotel - it is a hostel at best. Rooms have no ceiling, so you in fact sleep in a cubicle - meaning one can hear everything. One bathroom for all residents is pretty shocking. Possibly the worst hotel in NYC
