Keys pick up in Harlem. Could be better to arrange to meet at the apartment itself

Great location, quiet, near a park but within a short walk of the main east village area with every bar and restaurant imaginable. Great atmosphere. Food from every corner of the globe. Secure building. Comfortable Stay.

The key pick up is really far away from the apartment. It took us 5 hours from landing to pick up keys and get to apartment. Nearest subway was quite a walk. It didn't bother us as we went to new York with a walking head on but may bother some people.

I liked very much the position in a quiet area very close to a street (St. Marks) full of shops, restaurants and pubs, although the subway stations were about 1 km far from the residence, it was a nice walk (ten minutes). In the residence there is everything you can need, hair dryer included. There was a fine large terrace garden even if it was full of old "broken" things (for instance the old broken sofa-bed).

The apartment was a little noisy by the night as it was at the first floor and especially in the bedroom I could hear a noise (not so important, but ...) that it might be come from the conditioning apparatus of a near apartment. You must know that it is necessary to collect the apartment keys in an office by the 135th street (Harlem), while the apartment is located in the 8th street East side and usually all the trains and coaches from the airports arrive at the 34th or the 42nd street. Anyway you can arrange with New York Hospitality to collect the keys (with an extra charge of 25 $) by a building at the 45th. I suggest to write an e-mail every day in the last 3-4 days before your arrival to remind your agreement, as in my case they forgot to leave the keys and I had to wait 1 hour and a half.

Picking up the key at 135th was unsettling

This apartment was on 8th Street, yet I was expected to go to 136th to pick up the keys. After several emails, I arranged for the keys to be left somewhere much closer. However, I arrived to find the keys were not there and following two calls to the company and an hour wait, finally got the keys. This would have been a great little find but for the hassle of actually getting the keys - a 240 block round trip would have taken me nearly three hours.
