The miscommunication between the website I booked on and the hotel. I was charged for an upgraded room, and then did not get the upgraded room. Very frustrating and upsetting experience.
There was a mixup with my booking and they did what they could to rectify the situation. Staff were very friendly.
Rooms are so tiny even with an upgrade to a bigger room. There was garbage sitting behind the toilet when i checked in. It looks like the once very nice updated furnishings are starting to be on their way out making the room seem a little cheap. I wouldn't pay full price but booking.com rates are the way to go with this hotel
The location is ideal. Appealing lobby, Bliss products in room, large bathroom, comfortable bed.
poor quality sofa room furniture and carpet. room layout not logical. Lack of transparent window treatment. No coffee in room.
great location, decent floor space
No free wifi even in lobby Less than helpful concierge Very noisy air con units Noise from street even on 15th floor
Comfortable bed Nice bathroom and toiletries Free upgrade when checking in Doormen were very good and helpful
bed was lumpy n hard
The rooms are plush despite being small. The staff is attentive and friendly. Especially want to thank David who was a manager on duty for the weekend. He was very friendly, outgoing and knowledgeable.
The wow suite! Was really wow for me
Room was very small, but that's New York. It would be nice if the hotel gave you the password for free wi-fi upon check-in. They didn't and I didn't bother with it so I don't even know if they offer it.
Location, location, location! Room was extremely clean. The price I got on booking.com was unbelievable for the W.
Not having free wi-fi in the room
Efficiently run, modern hotel
I didn't like that due to a booking error I had to book another room and whenever I tried to call booking I was on hold for over half hour before I had to give up.
The reception was very helpful and understandings but could only do so much.
No free coffee!
Extra-charges for nothing (still didn't get my money back) Breakfast overpriced No wi-fi in the rooms
Good location Friendly staff especially concierge
Wi-fi very expensive every day! Wrong over-charges on bill!
Breakfast at the bar! Cider Concierge service wonderful
Rooms are dated and not the usual W standard
Great bar, excellent staff, easy access to everywhere in Manhattan. Great for NYE- they even let us into Times Sq just before midnight
The rooms were inredible small. We upgraded to a superior room and it was very tight for two adults. The hotel was nice, but for the price I would go with the Marriott.
The hotel location was great! The staff was incredibly helpful and extremely nice!
Rooms were very small and bathrooms even smaller and rather tired !
The location of W New York is very convenient for most places you would wish to visit but the welcome and warmth extended by a very professional team of staff surpasses that and makes for a most enjoyable stay. Nothing to dislike.
Food, beverages, mini bar was too expensive... You d better go outside and buy whatever you need!
The location was perfect...
I had chosen the W hotel for the brand they carry . Perhaps , with competion and more trendy hotels opening up in NYC . The W has lost some of the sophistication and trendiness it had 5-8 years ago. I still think it was a good value for the price.
Excellent staff, attentive and knowledgable of the area. We needed restaurant recomendations. We had a wonderful, romantic time and my fiancee said his birthday was memorable. The view, the suite and the bed were extremely comfortable! Thank you W staff for helping me celebrate my fiancee's birthday ! We both love the hotel its location and the room was perfect. Thank you!! What an amazing time we had !
Hotel did not fullfill booking commitments as outlined in discription!
Room could use a good cleaning. Carpet and bathroom floor weren't clean.
The apples were on the counter only one time when I was there....it was a great idea and addition (always there at the other NYC location) No coffee out during the day for a quick "pick me up"
Comfort of the room Large bathroom Comfortable bed.... Apple Cider drink during the day...
No commitment regarding booking change Impossible to discuss with manager to find Solition on simple problem !
Rooms very small, so tight walking around bed difficult.
Price very competitive with other hotels in area
Teeny tiny elevators.
Good location, trendy lounge area and lobby. Altho the rooms are not huge they make the best of the space they have by providing a fair amount of amenities. Staff was friendly and there were a fair amount of front desk agents so the check in/out line did not get out of hand. The price of the in rooms snacks was of course outrageous but thats the norm for hotels in general.
