Excellent staff, attentive and knowledgable of the area. We needed restaurant recomendations. We had a wonderful, romantic time and my fiancee said his birthday was memorable. The view, the suite and the bed were extremely comfortable! Thank you W staff for helping me celebrate my fiancee's birthday ! We both love the hotel its location and the room was perfect. Thank you!! What an amazing time we had !
I had chosen the W hotel for the brand they carry . Perhaps , with competion and more trendy hotels opening up in NYC . The W has lost some of the sophistication and trendiness it had 5-8 years ago. I still think it was a good value for the price.
Hotel did not fullfill booking commitments as outlined in discription!
Room could use a good cleaning. Carpet and bathroom floor weren't clean.
Comfort of the room Large bathroom Comfortable bed.... Apple Cider drink during the day...
The apples were on the counter only one time when I was there....it was a great idea and addition (always there at the other NYC location) No coffee out during the day for a quick "pick me up"
No commitment regarding booking change Impossible to discuss with manager to find Solition on simple problem !
Price very competitive with other hotels in area
Rooms very small, so tight walking around bed difficult.
Good location, trendy lounge area and lobby. Altho the rooms are not huge they make the best of the space they have by providing a fair amount of amenities. Staff was friendly and there were a fair amount of front desk agents so the check in/out line did not get out of hand. The price of the in rooms snacks was of course outrageous but thats the norm for hotels in general.
Teeny tiny elevators.
From the moment we arrived the staff were amazing. Great service, very nice room and we thoroughly enjoyed our time here. We will come back for sure!
The staff was very friendly and helpful.
Its position and the lounge areas
No croissants at the bar in the morning! Also no facilities for making coffee in the rooms.Wifi should be free in bedrooms. Both these last two points are normal in UK hotels
I arrived 6pm for my booking. Apparently I wasn't important enough and they had decided to let someone stay in my room until very late. Suggested I leave all my bags with them and go sit in the spa or something. I needed to shower, change, and hop on a conference call immediately so this was a massive hassle. Asked why this was happening and they refused to answer. After pushing hard and asking them to find me a room immediately in another hotel, they condecended to downgrade me into another room that was available. No compensation, no apologies. Took almost an hour to get into my room. Absolutely insane.
Nice bed, cosy bathroom.
We found someone else's dirty sock in our room. This is below the standards of any W hotel. According to the website W is supposed to be a top design hotel, but it all looked a bit faded. Most of all I can't understand why an expensive hotel, would charge for WiFi in the rooms. In 2014 WiFi should be free, especially for that rate per night! Cheaper hotels far outdo W on this part. Also I don't particularly appreciate being asked by security to show my room keycard in the lobby of the hotel in the evening, but should it be necessary, please do it friendly. I was a fan of the W idea, but that idea seems to be fading in this hotel. Really, no free Wifi was okay five years ago, but for this rate per night, it should be free in the rooms.
Baggage porters were exceptional and bar staff very good
Reception staff on arrival
My room and lovely and the Bliss products a real treat. The doorman when I left for the airport was the nicest person at the hotel - even at 4am!
Surly staff - front desk, the bar, at breakfast - even the salon! Everything had to be requested - all at extra expense. No literature in the room about services or facilities on offer. The rest of my group were at the Waldorf and their service was out of this world. Nothing was too much and they didn't have a poor attitude, unlike at the W.
Overall Hotel ambiance
Very small and dark room vs the price paid
Every staff member and I really do mean every was so professional and did an outstanding job. The front desk, housekeeping, wait staff, chef, doorman, room service staff, concierge, cafe staff, security were all excellent guest service providers.
The first room we got was behind the elevator wall. It was incredible noisy so we had to ask to change. Also the beds are very small for 2 people...
convenient to work. room set up was good. Front desk staff where nice but when I called down from room -less helpful.
You have to pay extra for internet in a 5 star hotel -what???
I liked the locations and the closeness to the city. good and nice place. Would return there.
no specific things....
-Service was very courteous and correct. -Location was extremely convenient.
-$20/day for WIFI (this is so rare across most of the planet!) -Always have to wait in line for frontdesk service (crowded lobby, insufficient personnel.) -Room size (despite upgrading by two ranks.) -Bathroom size (ridiculously small bathtub.) -Cleanliness (dirty phone, stained towel.) -Noise from street and ventilation system (poor noise insulation
Rooms are to small
The bathroom and amenities and privacy
Very small wardrobe , missed messages as there was someone at the hotel with a very similar name
this is the worse hotel i have stayed in my life. the room is very uncomfortable and nothing is working properly. ı have complained it many times and they did nothing do it better. ı will never stay in this hotel again. and will not recommend to anyone.
Loved our stay at the W....its in a great location and the hotel has a cool , funky feel to it.
Lovely nice Hotel near most attractions. time square 15 min walk your on the same road as bloomingdale and grand central station staff very friendly
not much bad to report but for a large chain of hotel surprised to see that the hotel restaurant is closed on the weekends except for breakfast
