location i booked a non smoking room, i ended up in a smoking one. the day after i finally get a non smoking room. 4 days later the reception calls me and tells me i need to move room again because i got upgraded and could not stay in the room for the price I had booked at. I have not asked for an upgrade. |

I found the hotel staff to be polite and helpful. The rooms were a good size and also kept clean and tidy. The hotel itself was in a central location. |

Just in the middle of the city...No matter how you arrive NewYork; take metro from JFK airport, or travel by train, just get off at Penn Station, walk a few steps upwards and cross the street. You are in front of the hotel. If you reserve a room looking west and higher than 20th. floor, prepare yourself with a magnificant sunset. A small refregiator in the room would be helpfull. |

The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Location excellent, one minute walk from Penn station. Diner was convenient for breakfast, but think the hotel should have some discount considering the price of the rooms. Photos of rooms shown online were accurate. The corners in the bathroom could use some extra cleaning. |

Good position, room OK for central NYC hotel - 2 double beds but a little cramped, clean but bathroom in need of renovation. Service excellent, useful restaurant & bar on site. would recommend again. Bathroom needs thorough clean or makeover |

The room was clean. It was an old hotel that was done over, but done nicely. The room was pretty warm so we opened the windows for some air. There were no screens on the windows so I was a little leary about that. I didn't need any birds visiting. The other thing I didn't care for was the factor that you had to pay to leave your bags when you checked out. It wasn't a lot of money but it was the principal of the thing. |

The friendly attitude of the staff and their willingness to be helpful was a key feature of this hotel. Its convenient location for accessing so many different areas of the city on foot was important too. The lobby area was invariably crowded and not conducive to relaxing in, though it was attractively decorated. |
