Two bathrooms in the room free wifi
trouble getting a taxi from the front due to congestion around entrance
The location can't be beat and the staff were all outstanding. The rooms are New York size but comfortable.
The walls are paper thin and you can hear everything going on in the room and bathroom next door.
Loved the art deco decor and history of the building. Rooms were very clean and service good. Staff was friendly and helpful, Location was fantastic.
Room was a little small but what I would have expected in Manhattan. Hallways could use a freshening.
Old dark rooms
Room was tiny and decor dated without anywhere to lay your case let alone unpack. If this is a refurbished room then money has not been well spent. Rather expensive for the quality of room despite the good location
Location, Location! Suzie,,at the concierge desk, made our trip less hectic. She took her time and explained (everyday!) the subway system. We were afraid of it but she made it a breeze. She outlined our walk to the Intrepid and back to Times Square. The doormen were very efficient in getting cabs when we needed them. Tictoc was good be we really enjoyed the dining room; very relaxing after a busy day. Pumpkin ravioli excellent!
The guys at the concierge desk.....forget about them. They didn't roll their eyes, but you had that feeling that they did! We are retired and in a big, strange city, spending over $4,000 in 5 days,,,,a little respect, please. The internet went out on us on the third night and had to spend 20 minutes on the phone to get it back. 2 nights later same thing but we were too tired to want to try again. Not fair; we need when out of town.
Located right opposite Penn station and near Macy's, this hotel ticks all the right boxes. Although an older building, I liked the charm of the Art Deco. Our room had three big windows with fantastic views.
The bathroom had a big window in it which made it a little cold and although very clean, it was a little worn in places.
Very good location and the food in the restaurant was good, although the restaurant decor could do with updating. The room was clean and a good size (twin room) but needed decorating.
The rooms are currently being renovated, sadly we were in one of the rooms not yet done!
Location right near Penn station where I got off train. Decent access to rest of city. Two blocks from Macys. The room was clean and tidy which is good for NYC.
Cost. Over $400 when fees are included for one night. NYC is expensive, but thats no excuse for overcharging for a room that is only 12 x 12 with windows that have not been washed in some time.
The room was fresh, clean and comfortable.
I like the price for the value. The hotel was very elegant and clean. The staff were professional and helpful. Loved the location; very close to Times Square, Penn Station, and many shops and restaurants. Easy to access from the highway if you are driving in, and the valet service is run like a well-oiled machine.
Our shower had some hot and cold spurts.
If you are looking to take a traib out of penn station for your morning meeting, this location is the best.
The hotel bathrooms have not been updated and the showers are absolutely horrible. Small toilet, yes really small. The shower heads fron the 80's literally spit the water at you making the most ridiculous of noises. Never again are we staying at this hotel.
I was in walking distance to Time Square. The Diner next door stayed open 24hrs and the food was good.
We liked the location, the friendly helpful staff and the Ticktock diner.
We did not like having to insist on the room with a view which we had paid an upgrade for. Five attempts before the right room. We disliked the Trattoria Bianca which meant we could not, as residents enjoy a drink in a bar.
I liked my suite once it was changed after the first night.
Did NOT like the original suite as my PA booked a view and it did not have one. Didn't like no true room service as it was a takeaway service with plastic knives and forks even though room had table and chairs. Which seemed odd to us.
Location was key
Small room for price but everything is there.
Hotel was perfectly located near 34th/Penn Station enabling easy access to most places.
Sound proofing was non existent. No coffee facilities in the room. Fold out sofa bed was broken, and staff woke us at midnight (without a service call) to fix it.
Great room with a view of the Empire State Building. Excellent value
Near Penn Station, Macy's and 5th Ave. We wanted to see the Christmas windows at the big department stores and it was very walkable. Also near Times Square. Our room was small, but very neat and clean. The bathroom was also small, mostly updated and clean. The Tick Tock diner off the hotel lobby is a convenient place for breakfast and the food and service are very good. I would stay at this hotel again.
The shower head needs to be updated, but was adequate. Unlike every other hotel I have been in, this hotel does not even have coffee in the room or include breakfast of any kind.
Stay here every year love location
Didn't like change to restaurant & bar think it's very cold ; found one member of staff girl in bar extremely rude & not helpful at all
Dinner at adjacent restaurant was extremely enjoyable plus breakfast location very convenient
health club had all the right equipment but located in the basement, long trip from rooms
The best bed of my trip
Bathroom very small, no door lock. No fridge in the room
Location to Penn Station
It was cold in the room when you got out of bed.
Wifi was good.
The used soap is not replaced and no fresh soap and body cream provided for my use after one day. There was no breakfast with this large amount paid. Sad I will not use this hotel again. I paid for keeping my bag with concernage. Why?
Location was perfect. Hotel was very nice, comfortable and cozy. Concierge desk very friendly.
Found rest of the staff un helpful and rude.
