Close to Herald Square Times Square Penn Station Madison Square Garden and Subway
Bathrooms were small and outdated
the bed was one of the most comfortable beds i had ever slept in... the bathroom was a nice size compared to the smaller room. i would stay here again.. might actually be the only place i stay in NYC again
didn't like that i had to leave
closeness to penn station, subways, Times Square. Efficiency and helpfulness of staff. quiet and comfortable room, affordable
Rooms are ok. Beds are comfortable. Location is stunning.
Concierge staff might be more friendly. Overall no extra friendly approach to say the staff is good. Only one device can be connected to wifi. This is ridiculous.
Tick-Tock Diner comfortable meeting rooms two bathrooms in our suite
No restaurant/bar available due to construction going on
Close to Penn Station, Hop on Hop off bus stopped right across the street, and once block from the subway.
Bathroom small and needed updating
The location was great
The bathroom was dirty and old with mold and cracks- it did not match the nicer bedroom. The walls were very thin and we could hear the neighbours at night Checkin was very inefficient with along line and staff members doing everything but checking in!!. I wouldnt stay here again as it is overpriced.
Art Deco styled hotel in prime mid town location Rooms were a little small & the bathroom could be refurbished but we had a great time at the New Yorker
The location is perfect for travelers on public transportation and convenient for any purpose - leisure and business We got a free upgrade to a large room on the 8th floor. The room was completely handicap-accessible, which is nice even if you're not. Beds were very comfortable. Staff was efficient and forthcoming
breakfast is not included the lobby is like a train station there was no table in the room, just a desk fridge in room froze our food
Friendly staff and a great location.
I paid extra for a room with a city view and the window was covered with scaffolding and mesh. The shower lacked water pressure or a mixing valve so we either got scalded or frozen during our shower. Construction started at 8 am, usually waking us up.
Free wifi, location, clean and spacious rooms, nespresso machine in the room
Upgrade to executive suite. Call us when we wait for early check in. Concerige staff help us to arrange service from room cleaner when we receive no response on calling from room.
The bathtub of the suite is terribely run down, paint come out.
We were on the 8th floor which is one that is done being remodeled. Very nice! The subway is 10 steps out of the door, or get the doorman to grab you a cab. I love the Wyndham New Yorker. Wonderful staff and immaculate rooms.
The location couldn't be better for attending a concert at MSG. I love the whole art deco feel of the place, too. The history could really come alive with just a little more attention.
The room was incredibly small for what I paid and the bathroom fixtures were dated.
Perfect location! Close to everything...stores, subway, landmarks, etc..
Too bad the balcony was under construction.
Despite being centrally located our room was quiet and comfortable. A great base for touring New York.
No tea or coffee making facilities in the room.
Bedroom was to a good standard
Having to pay $2/bag for the hotel to store them for 1 1/2 hrs, I disliked this very much.
- The size of the standard double room with twin beds was too small. - No amenities. - Very noisy that you can hear all what's happening on the street especially the amublance sirens that never stops. - they had like few floors used as students accommodation that we had to bump into teenagers carrying cooking pans and trays with food in the elevator several times during our stay. Their staff serviced differed between very good and very bad: Sameera at the front desk gave us a great service that we decided to stay after the first night where we decided to find another hotel when Angel gave us very bad service at check in: he decided to block from our credit card 500$ without even informing us. He kept argueing that he was right for long time. Then he offered us a free breakfast for one day only that we felt it was very disrespectful. Then we asked him to change our room, he said he will check and get back to us immediately, but he never called back or even bothered to follow up with us on the breakfast offer just to show us he was genuine with his apologizing offer. - We stayed at the hotel for 11 days and most of the time we had to show our room cards to the security staff which is very annoying. - At night they had no bellboy to stop taxis for the guests. Only in the morning and those in the morning were good.
This hotel was literally steps away from Penn Station. A comfortable walk to Time Square and Theatre District. Check-in staff was friendly and helpful. We asked for a higher floor and were given it. Away from traffic and noise. Great temperature and pressure in the shower.
The price is fair for what we found in New York.
The location fantastic.
The room was very small, with a 50cmts wardrove were the suitcases didn´t have place. The bathroom old fashioned way and small.you should advise to the future customers that the check out date if they need to leave the baggage in the checkroom they must pay 2$ for each package, big or small. After beeing a customer for 7 or more nights is not very polite. After travelling quite a lot I must say it's my first time I see something like that.
I love The New Yorker. I regularly stay there. I've previously posted a review that was glowing. Seriously glowing. I love the location, the room size, the staff, the wi-fi, all of it... Until this trip.
Despite multiple complaints of chain-smoking (not just a little smoking) going on in a nearby room for multiple nights in a row, no one on staff would confront the smokers or attempt to get our comfort taken care of in this non-smoking hotel. Apparently, the privacy of the smokers is higher priority than the comfort of the non-smokers in nearby rooms. It wasn't until we insisted to be relocated that we got a good night's sleep. This, after having been lied to ("We sent someone up." Nope... no, they didn't send anyone up. We were awake. We would've heard. "They're masking the smoke so we can't locate the room." Nope... no one was masking anything. The entire hallway reeked and the hotel's solution was to spray Febreeze in the light of day.) and getting a free breakfast voucher (only usable 7:30am to 9am, though). Wow. What a shame! I love this hotel and it wasn't until I called Wyndham out on Twitter that I got ANY sort of customer support, and even that was flaccid at best (15% off a best rate on two nights max, to be used within a year). Also fun, upon arrival, we put in a dry cleaning order, with rush overnight service. Even spoke with the front desk to be sure we were choosing the right option for exactly how much time we had. Received a call the morning of our first night's stay saying that even though the pieces had been picked up the afternoon before, they did not receive service and there was no way to know whether they'd be able to take care of the items in time for our premiere. Luckily, we did receive the items with a half-hour to spare... and we paid a premium for the rush service, despite the fact that no rush service was provided. Lovely.
Location Cleanliness Helpful staff Dining facilities - Tic Toc Diner
Free Wi-Fi was hit & miss. Whilst my device said I was connected, I obviously was not as no emails came through!
The service was amazing
Definitely dose not deserve to be 4 star hotel. the photos are totally different from the reality. I was on the 29 floor but the room was so noisy, old furniture, extra tiny rooms and bath room.
It is an older building so you see some unique architecture/design. Our room had 2 bathrooms so 2 people could get ready for the day at the same time.
Hotel prices in NYC are ridiculously high.
