Newbury street is nice and the building of the hotel is friendly. The Staff was very nice and helpfull when they found something valuable in my room after I left. They contacted me and made sure it got shipped while keeping in contact.
My room was next to the elevator. Lots of noise from that. Lots of noise from the airco as well. Breakfast included, but there was something careless about that breakfast. Room for luggage storage is next to back entrance and even though it is locked it is not supervised: any guest can ask for the key and enter. It made me nervous. All in all very expensive hotel for average quality/ facility.
The location is great close to all the shops...breakfast in the morning was good ..staff were helpful & polite but wouldn't be very friendly...would suggest if booking look for a room at back of hotel because of street noise in the morning
It was cozy. Complimentary breakfast.
No coffee maker in room. Double beds instead of kingsize.
The location was great. The staff were very friendly and accommodating.
It was very difficult to locate the little service lane for car parking. If you are from Boston, you know these exist however, if not, you are unaware of these.
Old fashioned charm. Great location. Breakfast in the restaurant next door. Alleyway parking. Hospitality. Really fun place.
What's there not to like?
Staff Size of room.
Small amount of shampoo/shower gel.
Although the room was lovely with its Bay Window fronting Newbury St; by night, there was a lot of street noise. Breakfast was ok. A bit of a language barrier when asking for 'HOT' water, we ended up walking out and going down the road where we bought a cup of tea. Missed an electric kettle in our room.
Location and bed.
Breakfast facility not clean and poor offering. Small bathroom. Staff not very cooperative.
Great location with a variety of shops galleries & restaurants on the same street. Easy walking distance to main Boston attractions. Newbury was clean with good breakfast & v helpful staff.

City tax, mind this as it puts 9% extra to every bill, even the hotel bill. Booking.com should give the final price after tax when they advertise the tariff as the tariff you see is not the tariff you pay. I was a bit disgruntled about this as all the hotels in America I booked also on this holiday I paid the advertised rate, not the sheriff of Nottingham taxed rate.
The location on Newbury Street was excellent
We stayed in room 208, it was directly above the kitchen and faced the rear parking lot. It smelled like a deep fryer all day long. It was a bay window room and we paid extra for it. They shouldn't even rent this room let alone charge extra for it. Definitely request a bay window room higher up away from the kitchen or facing the street
Location Close to restaurants
The guest house was very convenient for access to major shops and a large number of places of interest to tourist. The food at dinner in the bistro was very good and the availability of a discount was very attractive.
The fact that there was no variation in food available for breakfast.
Excellent location. We had a problem with a damp patch caused by a leak from an upstairs room. We were moved to another room and given a generous discount on our bill.
Breakfast only fair. Buffet is the same every day.
The Concierge was very helpful arranging dinner reservations and transportation.
Excellent location, easy walking to parks, restaurants and a longer but still do-able walk to Historical Boston. Staff were very obliging.
Breakfast was included but not very appetising.
The weather but that couldn't be helped
It was charming, clean and comfortable. Loved the location.
I didn't think the hot entrees at breakfast were that good.
My favorite place in Back Bay Boston.
Aloof staff. Rooms plain. Nothing extra which one expects in a boutique hotel. Cookies would be nice. Breakfast cold. No cereals. I've had better breakfAsts at Hampton Inns
The Newbury Guest house has a great location right in the middle of trendy Newbury St Back Bay. The selection of cafes/restaurants seems endless. It is in easy walking distance of Beacon hill, Boston Gardens, Boston Common, the lovely Charles River and Fenway Park.
Street was noisy until late on Saturday night but we expected this. There is a lift however there are still stairs to negotiate with heavy suitcases. Limited selection for the complimentary breakfast and then limited places open for breakfast if you miss out.
The room was clean and the Wifi worked
I don't believe the Deluxe room I requested is what I got (more Standard based on the pictures I had seen online). Was in the back of the building. The staff at most was accomodating, no way near friendly. The breakfast was a challenge both mornings. The first mornig the food kept running out and it was barely enough seating. The second day we had to deal with bad tourist/guest staying at your hotel. The kid was running around and knocked over two glasses that broke on the floor.
The location is ideal for short visits to Boston. Parking was available for a reasonable price. Within walking distance of many restaurants as well as shops. Selfhelp breakfast is sufficient for everyday need. Large safe in room.
The bathroom is small and internet can be on and off from time to time. Coffeemaker in room would be nice.
The room on the third floor was quite and away from the street noise. The included breakfast was quite substantial. And the location close to Back Bay shopping, a short walk to the Amtrak station, and Copley Square is ideal for leisure and business travelers. The Newbury Guest House is more like a small European Boutique Hotel than a typical guest house, a welcome alternative to the large chains in the area.
I don't have any complaints.
