Location to downtown Newport was good.
Staff wasn't welcoming. Room was on second floor no elevator. Had to change our room because the toilet broke. They didn't offer to help. Ashes and match stick on the floor. Area was quiet.
No free wifi, no hairdryer
Hair on sheets. A large clump of hair also on pillow case. We were told they were out of clean sheets. The toilet overflowed. After it was "fixed" it continued to leak on floor all night! It was so terrible for what we paid, $112.
Rooms were a little sparce
I liked the fact that I was able to reserve the room in advance.
The room was very basic. There were no amenities included. No shampoo, cream rinse etc. and the soap was so small it barely lasted for two people. The room was also quite noisy. We had attended a wedding at the Yacht Center and should have used one of the recommended hotels. We will never use another Motel 6 even if they leave the light on.
The rooms were nice
Guest in room next to us complained and warned us of possible bed bugs. Although we didn't see any we were paranoid to sleep. Also the hall ways had a foul oder and the rooms smelled stale.
close to resturants
wish a coffee pot was in the room
Housekeeping knocked on our door Saturday morning at 8:30am then came n our room and left the door wide open while we were sleeping. Desk staff knocked on our door at 10:30 and told us we had to check out by 11 but checkout was noon. Very rude staff
no frills hotel. Comfort and cleanliness good. Good service from receptionist.
bad location ( way too far without car). Would price it at 40$ a night after taxes.
Good rates Friendly staff
Pretty basic and needs some remodeling (old ripped elect sockets, etc)
The price was good. The clerk was attentive to our problem of strange room odor.
First room had a sewage odor. Quickly moved and second room was fine.
Room and bathroom was very clean and comfortable. Good location with respect to the strip mall next door, short drive to downtown
Hallway had that old hotel smoky smell
No clock radio! How do you tell what time it is when you are traveling? No basic supplies: no kleenex, 1-2 towels for 2 adults . . .
NO clock, fridge, hairdryer, or iron. NO direct access to room HOMELESS man in pking lot @2pm Shower didn't drain, but DID drip24/7 Broken glass in parking lot Check-in took 10-15min, waiting for Mngr, who was complaining on fon about 'lack of help'. Tv pic was wavy til it warmed up. AM Coffee in Lobby w/Powdered creamer.
Waking up and leaving!! Car wasn't broken in to!
Front desk couldn't verify over phone 3mos. Pre booking !. Requested non smoke-wreaked of nicotine. (Cleaning crew said they'd notified manager.Transferred to rm at rr exit - noise all night. New room smelled of burnt microwave - had to buy Fabreeze and Lysol. Continental brkfst was a squeegee coffee canister with no milk.
Location, cleanliness, very friendly staff
The room smelled, all I was left was 2 bars of soap no shampoo or conditioner. And for the amount of money there was no free wifi, it was an extra charge.
I was told check in time was 3 pm, he told me to leave and come back after 4 pm. I was told check out time was noon, then some staff member was banging on our door at 1030 yelling we had to be out bye 11. Also when we finally did get in the room the bedding was damp.
Proximity to Thames St.
Bedspreads were stained and didn't look good with white spots all over them, actual bed linens seemed clean enough though..
no fridge or uWave
Everything before bed bugs
Everything after bed bugs
Cheap clean place to stay in Newport
Hard time getting a local cab to get downtown and to beaches
Room was clean, including bathroom, as was the bedding.
Online info does not inform you what Motel 6 does not provide. Registration clerk told me nothing about the motel except where my room was and where I could park. When I realized there was no hair dryer, I went to the front desk to ask about it but no one was there. Later called to desk and was told there might be one available. There was and I went to front desk to get it. I was never told that coffee was available in the morning. The hallways smelled like disinfectant and stale cigarettes. Room had no air flow, not even the fan, when I entered the room. I couldn't sleep on bed by the window because the air conditioner blew right on the bed and ther was no way to adjust it. Not told that no shampoo or air conditioner was provided. Towels felt like sandpaper.
The location was great with just about everything you would need within walking distance; shops, restaurants and a bus line to the Newport wharf area.
Dog barking all night in a room on same floor. Noisy room. We could hear everything. Drunk guests coming in their rooms at 3 am, dog barks...not nice. No shampoo in room. Cheap look and feel. I would not come back. Usually I don't mind cheap motel but this one was too much for me.
Room was clean staff were friendly
Requested a refrigerator did not have one in room
