Score from 1194 reviews Very good
Coffee machine in room Warm chocolate cookie on arrival Huge king size bed Clean bathroom and powerful hairdryer
sound of ice machine in corridor next to our room
The staff were friendly and helpful. Close to Penn Station. The room was good with a nice view of the Hudson River. Very comfy bed. Large bathroom-great shower.
No brochures/coupon offers on places to see or shop. Small elevators.
Location, places in walking distance
Felt a bit seedy outside
The elevators were super slow and at one point stopped working, I had to walk down the stairs.
Location & proximity to both tourist spots and subway
Not much to comment; except the prices in NYC are always expensive.
The location was a 5 min walk from Times Square. Had lots of shops/restaurants/bars closeby. Yet set away so not on a main busy street.
Conveniently close to transit and restaurants, but quiet enough for a good sleep. Staff friendly and helpful; our compact room was cleaned efficiently. Computers and printers in lobby very handy. Everything worked!
Fridge was a bit noisy, so we unplugged it after we devoured our leftovers.
Thomas was extremely helpful and made the trip fun with his friendly and fun personality.
Convenient to my reason for travel. Staff was very professional and helpful. Everything seemed clean in the room.
Room was tiny, very noisy with street noise one of the nights, most of the night. Control to the A/C was broken. For the price I expected at least a bit larger of a room. No free WiFi--should be included in the room price. Was told that check in time was 3pm but when I arrived it was changed to 4pm. Breakfast could have at least been included at the price paid.
When we arrived at the hotel, the staff did not find our reservation. We had to wait over 10 anxious minutes until it was found. For the price we expected a better service. Upon check-in we where asked for a credit card just for unexpected expenses. Three days later a credit card was again requested due to "problems" with the first and we where informed that only a pre authorization would be performed and the final payment could be made in whichever form we preferred. On check-out we found out that the total amount had already been credited to this card, we requested a cancellation and made the payment. After arriving back home and checking our bank statements we found that a pre authorization was pending on the first card, the total amount had been credited when the second card was originally requested and still not cancelled. After several phone calls the matter was finally sorted out but frankly the international cards excuses wore thin considering we had been traveling in the US and only found such careless disregard at this hotel.
No respect for my reservation created online for my king room. I went with my wife and was given a two bed bed room instead. I was charged an extra night. I arrived Thursday at midday and was charged for Wednesday. This was all caused by ms Jennifer who i thought was very rude. She yelled at me at reception the day i was going to pay. I Don;t find it right that i was charged for Wednesday the 10 of September. I also did not like the way i was treated by Jennifer. I would recommend teaching your employees manners, due to me being a foreign tourists. I will not recommend nor will return to your hotel. Ever.
Rooms quite small
The tv wasn't working.
Great staff, very helpful
Shower dioor didn't close all the way (room 2405).
Waiting of an elevator takes ages
The reception staff were friendly and helpful
the housekeeping was below standard. we were not given the required towels. we either got bath towels OR handtowels OR bathmats, never all of them. if they took away the bathmats they didn't always replace them. I would have been happy to use the same towels for the duration of my stay but they took them away each day without replacing them. and they kept taking the pillows too
The bedrooms were what you'd expect size wise, but the bathroom was huge! Loads of things within walking distance Staff were extremely helpful during our whole stay
Next door is where the food carts are stored so it's a bit smelly + dirty in the morning on the street, but that can't be helped in a big city!
The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was clean
The room was very small but as expected in NYC
The staff was wonderful, caring, and took wonderful care of us during our shock and grief. An outstanding group!
Cleanliness, green features, City view, location
The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. the room was clean and the location was great near Penn Station, & just a few blocks from Times Square. overall it was a decent stay.
housekeeping came after 4pm to clean the room.
The location made the Javitz center very walkable. The bell staff was extremely friendly - and fun.
The bed was super hard which doesn't work for me personally.
the staff are very friendly, polite and helpful. they have the Hilton standard in a hotel for less than a price of the bigger Hilton hotel branch. I booked two weeks before in the main / bigger Hilton hotel in 6th Ave. and the staff over there suck, unlikely compared to Doubletree which is a smaller hotel. I was so thankful that there was someone to help me with my luggage as soon as my taxi door opened in the street. I was really grateful for that.
though the location is very close to a lot of places I want to go in NYC, I find the people by standing in the street of the hotel uncomfortable if not unsafe for a female solo international traveller like myself.
Dirty, not a 5 star hotel, bogus expensive stay and a dirty hotel. Oh, they also kept taking away my personal item and I had to call them again and again to retrieve it.
