Very nice people
To far from Mohegan for me, shower did not work and sink was leaking. But things do happen so I was fine with my stay.
Location.....and no bed bugs
OMG....I had been a frequent visitor to this hotel many years ago; however, it has changed ownership several times over the years and it has become a hideous/almost scary place to spend a night. It is so dirty, I literally would not touch the stair railings. There are no working elevators and you have to haul luggage up three flights of very dirty stairs. The garbage cans outside the entrance doors to the stairwells was not emptied for three days and the smell was horrific. The carpets are filthy, the bath towels are the size of hand towels, the doors and woodwork are dirty, there were no tissue boxes in the rooms and there was no TV guide in the room. The iron did not work well and the ironing board was crooked. The hallways smelled so strongly of disinfectant that it almost made us gag. The owners lived on our floor and left the doors to their rooms open most of the time so we could see their dirty and cramped living space. Most of the other guests that we saw in the halls or outside looked as though they rented rooms by the week and would hang out of their doors smoking cigarettes. This experience was not one I would wish on anyone.....I was so disappointed in the decay and decline of a once nice motel.
The staff is very nice and the rooms are good for the price.
The beds were a little too hard for us, but there's people that prefer that.
Our booked room online was not available on arrival. We were however given a room with two queens instead of the king bed rooms we booked.
It appeared that people were living in some of the rooms. They were walking several dogs from one room,
Convenience off of highway.
Very run-down facility. Soap/shampoo sizes were tiny. Noise levels too high. A drunk guy was singing for hours one floor down. Room was NOT CLEAN. Found hairs on pillows! Maid service was not great. TV was fuzzy on regular channels TV reception came and went. People appeared to be living on the first floor, they took over the pool area for hours, so no one could use pool as they were "cooking out" on a grill and eating poolside. Someone was trying to swipe-key into our room while We WERE IN THE ROOM!!! Will never stay here Again!!
quick check-in. Clean room.
Hallway door lock sticks. No elevator
The room was clean but everything inside was worn out but this is a $ 40 per night motel not a $ 90 plus tax room. I have stayed in $ 90 hotels by far better than this one
This is a very old motel and the facility doesn't look good for the high price charged, It had a couple of rooms with poor people siting and hanging around with their bare chest giving a bad and scary aspect of the areas. This hotel needs to be closed and rehab. It is not a family motel, not recommended!!!
Nice people Good room
No elevator Smelly stairwell
At least the location is walking distance from Stop & Shop, although Route 161 in East Lyme gets busier year by year. It's also very convenient to I-95, although the building is hard to see from I-95 or CT-161. The bed was decent; I slept surprisingly well the first night. Good eats nearby: Illiano's is about a mile south on 161; The Shack is about a mile north at Flanders Four Corners.
Some of these won't happen to all guests at all times. Just unlucky, I guess. 1. Poor accessibility even for a healthy person carrying luggage: heavy glass doors that hate being held open, and even the first floor rooms require lugging suitcases up the steps. 2. There's still a sign indicating the presence of a family restaurant, but there's no restaurant and hasn't been for years. 3. Ugly pickup parked in the "back yard" behind my room (I could swear someone was back there sleeping in the driver's seat--not very reassuring). 4. Ugly, toxic carpeting. 5. Dog barking in the room above me. 6. Some other stuff I've forgotten by now.
Bedbugs... Bites all over the following morning. Owner did not even acknowledge. Being investigated by local health Dept. They should be shut down..
Every thing was old. Carpet in room was dirty wall paper was coming off of walls. The whole place was dingy and dirty.
The owners were very accommodating about switching us from the third floor to the first floor.
The back door entrance, the door, was kept open with a stone and never locked.
For the price of the hotel was decent enough. At first I was skeptical about the place when I pulled up. The outside did not do the inside justice. The front desk provided great hospitality. The room was big and the beds where comfortable. The kids enjoyed themselves in the pool they had.
The outside of the building needs to be more up to par. It's very outdated and can use some touch up.
The pool was great for the kids but no towels. You had to walk to the front desk and deposit $5.00 per towel. The staff was friendly. And there's free parking.
The pillows are flat and uncomfortable and the place looks a bit worn out. The room smelled like someone was smoking and I asked for a non smoking room.
Dirty, A/C not working. Will never book this motel again
Room was clean, bed was good and pool was nice.
One day our room got skipped by housekeeping. Smelled lime bug spray. Very dated
The motel, the location, the lovely surroundings, the area,,,,,
Air conditioning did not function well.
It was easy to get to.
The property is run down. The view from the interior sliding glass doors is overgrown weeds. The shower had to be repaired. The toilet's tank had no lid. The light over the mirror in the bathroom did not work. The ceiling light in the bathroom was inadequate for shaving. The hallways smelled. The television set was old and the remote unit didn't work well. Requests had to be made to get the room attended to by housekeeping (bed unmade, no fresh towels).
Room was clean and updated. Loved that the maid came in to change sheets and brought clean towels.
would have liked either a complimentary breakfast or restaurant on premises but not a big deal.
The room smelt like dirty feet and mildew....it was a strong intoxicating odor, also the shower rod fell on me during my shower; the room had many spiders....it was all in all a horrible experience!
The bed was very comfy & the room clean.
Pretty run-down, with peeling paint on the eves & soffits & broken door handles (onto the little balcony off my room, in any case) & trash scattered around the property's periphery & the building itself in a general state of declining disrepair.
Smoke alarm was chirping, management repaired it quickly@ 1am. Quiet, security ok.
Room needed to be aired out, I requested a non smoking room, but it was musty/smokey. Clean enough, a little dated.
