Staff were wonderfully helpful and responsive.
The place needs an overhaul, especially the bathroom needs a deep clean. The carpet seemed so damp we didn't want to walk on it. The mattress has seen better times.
Kathleen at the office was excellent, very nice and helpful. We were very surprised with a free breakfast delivered to our room. Room was very clean and comfortable with fridge and microwave. Excellent for a money. If in area again I would stay there definitely. 5 stars for service and value.
Staff was very nice. Breakfast was great!
The only problem was a slight musty odor, which cleared up with open window
The staff was super caring! Price was right. While there were no frills and things looked worn, it was clean. Included coffee/juice and pastry/bagel for breakfast.
Bedding, carpet, room decor needs refurbishment. Walls were thin and I could hear the man next door snoring.
For the price in this market, it is an excellent buy. Make no mistake -- it's not a $250/night Hilton, but it provided a very clean and quiet room with a good bed and a staff that made you feel welcome. For someone needing a good night's sleep in between 10-to-11 hour drives, it was perfect.
Really good little store attached to motel, & very quiet
When I booked the room it was only for 2 adults but, we ended up having to bring our kids, 3 & 5. That didn't make a bit of difference! The rooms are spacious and clean, lots of space to put things and a nice little kitchenette type spot! We will seriously never stay any where else when we stay for our annual week in State College!
Plenty of room, extra towels( not thick but fine plus face cloths) extra chairs, Flat screen TV, Long counter that has lots of room for two computer users. Microwave, fridge plenty of hangers. Breakfast delivered to your room- bagel and coffee but very clever delivery.
Price!!! Attached convenience store was great and staff very helpful and accommodating.
room had a slight funky smell, but I could live with it
Very clean, friendly, close to things, little cubby door for breakfast
coffee not very good but DD right next store at corner light
Very clean room and comfortable beds, not to mention the price.
Great value and comfort
This is the best budget priced motel that I can remember staying at and they are dog friendly.
Cost, room door easy access from car, location
interior seemed dated
Carpet was stained
Staff pleasant, room clean. Like having the fridge and microwave. And the breakfast delivered to our little cubby was a nice surprise and treat.
There was a strong odor of mustiness or "staleness" when we got there. It took awhile for the a/c to calm the odor down.
Good location "just" far enough away from town. Low rates. Employees were great and the coffee deliveries to the room an unexpected bonus.
Room needed some attention: Sheetrock in bathroom, shower drained poorly. Could only lock front door from outside using the knob lock. It had an additional deadbolt, but no key for it.
Location, Price, Value and Quality - All Outstanding!
The Internet connection was Very Slow - but that's OK, I didn't choose the motel and stay there for the Wi-Fi.
This motel is located on a quiet corner of State College about 5 miles from Penn State Campus and downtown. Since we were biking we enjoyed being near bike routes. We also loved the breakfast nook which allowed having breakfast in one's room.
The place is an excellent value for money deal. The staff were very helpful and nice. For a short stay it works out very well.
room, nice and big, tv, wifi, clean, plenty of towels, hot water.ac, value
For a budget accommodation, there were lots of little perks, such as the breakfast, the provision of supplies in the room (cups, sugar, etc) and especially the presence of a surge protector to provide extra power outlets. The staff was friendly and accommodating. For the price, this was better than expected.
There were a few minor cleanliness issues that bothered me: food crumbs in the corner of the sofabed, a few stray hairs and stains on the sheets, etc. The location was slightly inconvenient in terms of being near other businesses/stores/restaurants. There were options about ten minutes away, but everything in the area is reached by winding roads, so it felt like it was far. Breakfast was good except that the bagel was beyond bland.
Quiet room despite being next to the office. Bed was decent. Air conditioning worked and wasn't rattly. Plenty of towels.
No hairdryer or shampoo.
The staff was so nice. On our way to the motel, we hit a skunk on the road. After reading on the internet that coffee grounds can help mask and absorb the odor inside the car, the staff gave us several packages of coffee and coffee filters. It helped tremendously. The location is a short drive into downtown State College. Can't beat it for the money! Liked being able to park our car right in front of our room.
