We loved the quiet of the hotel; unless you saw another guest it was so easy to think that you were the only guests! There was a real sense of calm which was great coming back at the end of the day. The staff were very friendly and helpful and we especially liked the décor. It was so nice to be staying in a hotel that had character and comfort. It was great to come back in the evening and sit in our snug sitting room with a bottle of wine and relax. We both would highly recommend Nob Hill Inn which was a recommendation by the Guardian newspaper! Thank you for a lovely stay.
- great staff - clean and cosy hotel - beautifully styled (especially the bathtub)
- a bit on the small side
Size, comfort and appointment of the space.
Style and ambience of the property was good. We paid for a bigger room which was very nice. Afternoon tea was provided daily in the lobby and coffee/tea was offered in the morning. Easy walk to downtown city and services
Noisy (our room overlooked the street) and hot (no air cond). Afternoon staff struggled with English and were not that helpful. Breakfast not included.
I really liked the rooms - I stayed in two different ones at each end of my overall trip and they were both very clean and had everything required. The free wi-fi is great and easy to access, the bath is AMAZING and the decor beautiful. If you are a light sleeper I would recommend ear plugs because there is some street noise but if you want to stay in a great city location then you will get that anywhere and quite probably need to get over it! The overall service was fantastic - friendly but not instrusive and certainly very accommodating. I loved the bed.
I think breakfast included in the price would have been good but offering that as part of the room price does not seem to be the standard in very many places in the US. Having said that though, the breakfast options were very cheap with prompt service and available until 10am so can't really complain! The pillows are a little on the hard side but then some people prefer that!
Old building with plenty of character. Good service. Comfy room.
The location of the hotel was great. Near Union Square. The lady at the reception was very kind and helpful. Nice historic building. Nice room. Good service.
The room was smaller than I expected.
Location. We like to walk and this hotel was about an half hour walk from Fisherman's Wharf taking us thru China Town and Little Italy. Lots of little restaurants nearby. Good sized room.
No coffee making facility. Not that it was too much of an issue, but I would make a coffee if it was available.
Staff were very friendly and helpful. Room very clean and a great central location.
It would have been nice to have a fan in the room as there is no air conditioning. It got quite hot at night. But only a minor problem.
Liked location, the staff who kindly checked us in to next flight & printed boarding passes & breakfast very adequate for us. The room with separate sitting room that had foldout couch was perfect for 3 adults. The furnishings were fabulous from the 'old times' just like it shows online & we all slept well!
Very warm welcome, lovely rooms with period furniture, great location (easy walk to Union Square). Would stay there again without hesitation.
Location is superb Staff are very friendly and supportive Rooms are very nice and clean We had a two room suite, which was great for a family of four. Wifi was good
Our room (two room suite) was facing the street and it was rather noisy. Breakfast not included into the room rate
The street noise from the room is unbearable. Was impossible to sleep...the windows are like paper
Spacious rooms and relaxing atmosphere
Location near the center
The hotel is ok, but there is a terrible smell everywhere
Location was amazing. Right in the heart of San Fran. Walking distance to most things, including cable cars, coit tower, fisherman's wharf, restaurants and shopping.
I was travelling with a couple. They enjoyed the stay. I had difficulty sleeping on a sofa bed which was too soft because it lacked a proper mattress.
Great location for us, our room was on the 2nd floor with a super bay window. Our older teenage girls had an adjoining separate room with washbasin and tv which was perfect. Loved the quaintness of this hotel and the friendliness of all the staff which made our stay in San Francisco all that we wanted. (Loved the afternoon tea and sherry!)
Great location, generally friendly and helpful staff.
Of the twenty hotels/B&B's that we stayed in during our ten week trip, the room we were given at Nob Hill was by far the most inconvenient and lacking in amenities. No windows, limited storage space and the room was so small we kept getting in each other's way! If allocated Room 5 insist on a change!!
Lovely period feel to this central San Francisco hotel.
The corner bay room we had (3rd floor) was so loud it was like sleeping on a roundabout.
- you can walk everywhere from here - small room but cozy (double bed). - nice bathroom - wifi in the rooms - nice lobby - old style 2 people elevator - clean rooms (you never know with carpets but it looked)
- No outdoor light from my room. - loud noise under the room during the night (like a fan or AC or something) - Booking.com said there was breakfast included and there was only coffee/tea included, they charge an extra 2.50$+tax for each item you want to order - Parking is a pain in that area
-Very close to the Union Square, just a short walk to have access to all buses and the cable car -breakfast possible -good service
-very small rooms, no windows meaning that it's always dark -in the bathroom was muck on the mirror -it wasn't possible to lock the door at all because there was always a small gap -very expensive for the size of room you'll get
Street noise at night
Location Sherry and tea time Décor Big bathroom Comfy bed
Difficulty in unloading bags and carrying up stairs, had great help from staff though. Other rooms had lift access. Need to add 30$ per night for parking (very close)
Location Staff Character
Noise - No air conditioning so slept with windows open and heard cars accelerating up hill all night
