Value for money.

Advertised as parking available, but was extra and not attached to hotel. It was an extra cost for valet service to park off site with no in and out privaleges
The location was perfect to walk to many points of interest.

Loved the roof top patio.
May 18, 2015
Room was way too small. Had to sit on the bed to use the sink. Some staff were more helpful than others. Parking valet service was hit and miss. We were 5mins late for breakfast and were not aloud in. The breakfast finishes earlier than most other hotels.

Feels really like Victorian age inns, except of course there are LED TVs. The elevator is really old like you would find onboard Titanic, must be the oldest I'v ever taken. Forgot to ask the stuff how old it was, sigh.

"Cozy" = very small room
Great location. Friendly staff. Free breakfast.

Not entirely clean and a little run down.
Nice size room with patio. Good TV.

All of the staff, bar one, were unhelpful. Breakfast was terrible. The room we were put in our first night was deemed unfit for customers, led me to question why we were put in it in the first place
The bed was comfy

The location was ideal for my trip. Their valet service saved me when I couldn't find a parking spot on a Saturday night.

No hot watter in the bathroom, very poor breakfast

- While the hotel is central but it is a not within walking distance to many areas
- The room was clean and spacious - Free wifi

Old carpets. No view in my room. No air-con.
Clean linen and bathroom. Microwave and fridge was a plus.

Only negative thing was that it got cold in the evening so I was looking forward to warming up with a nice hot shower but the shower didn't work! The drains in the bath and sink were slow so the water sat there for a while. I could also clearly hear the guests above me every time they walked, and their loud music.
The front desk staff was friendly and helpful. I liked the room decor; nice antique furniture and fabrics. The location was central; I could walk to most places I wanted to visit.

Water Luke warm. Decor a little tired.
Proximity to Union Square. Restaurant very good and reasonable price. Breakfast good value.

Cramped & Outdated, homeless people stealing change from meters, prostitutes, bad neighborhood, no shops nearby, no parking, $36 vallet it took an hour to receive car back from no trash can in room or anywhere in hotel. Breakfast is way too overcrowded with little food to choose from there's one very old elevator and still have to take stairs to top floor. Very inconvenient and overpriced do yourself and family a huge favor spend a little more $ for much more hotel in a better area or spend a little less $ for a motel would probably be better than here.
The staff was friendly and the hotel had charm. We had a room on the top (6th) floor. With only one other room up there beside ours and a cute rooftop patio with a few plants chairs and tables.

I loved the charm. Really a great place to stay.

Size of room
Good location but old hotel with small room
April 25, 2015
The room is small but comfortable and has everything we need, including a small refrigerator, a microwave and a coffee maker. Very impressive. The breakfast is also good. I like the veggies and the tea. The staffs are also very nice. I left my computer charger in the room. After sent email to the hotel, they send the charger back to my home. It was a nice travel experience. I will definitely recommend this hotel.

Don't bring your teenage daughters! The male desk clerk offered my underage daughter wine. When she revealed her age, and replied "not thanks", he replied "it doesn't matter, no one will know." Creepy, at best! My car was damaged by valet and they still haven't paid for the repairs. It has been a month.
The rooms were excellently decorated and the bathrooms were completely remodeled. the coffee was good and the breakfast was average. they have a wine happy hour.

We requested quiet room but the man in reception gave us room just outside Hyde st. The people walking were loud shouting up to ca. 3am- the cars , police siren etc. the room not dark enough because of hotel sign vacancy outside the window- the curtains thin . I did not sleep well- the mattresses and pillows very soft- not comfortable. For a grand hotel poor qualities. We slept in a grand hotel in Gaslamp area in San Diego this was no comparison!
Nothing except free cheese and wine 5-7:30 pm at lobby
April 19, 2015
no sound proof, room is too small
price and close from trader's joe
April 18, 2015
Valet experience was a little bit annoying. 36 bux, 20 min to get ur car back, and it's parked 17 miles away so you can't get stuff out/put stuff in.
Good value for the most part. Old cool elevator, nice decor. Small but functional rooms
April 17, 2015
Breakfast finished too early! 9:30am finish!

Looked better on photos than in real life. Looks old
Had a 75% discount, wouldn't go to this hotel for the real price though. Location near Polk street, walkable to downtown. Simple breakfast but tasteful, everyday is the same
