Very warm in SF and room very stuffy
The room had a beautifully renovated bathroom and we felt safe there .
Elevater could use a bit of a repair though we loved the antiquity of it.
The front desk staffs are friendly and helpful.
The room is too small and there is no air-conditioning in the room. Placing the microwave oven on a mini-fridge and leave them in passage way inside the room is a bad idea. It is not convenient to find a place to park your car if you are driving.
Everything was just perfect. Thank you!
Ambience was lovely, great furnishings, very comfortable bed. Penthouse room off the garden patio with terrific views, very reasonable price.
Needs some work... handle of hot water tap came off in my hand, no handle on the tap in the shower. Lights it the bathroom are on a motion sensor that does not reach the shower so we ended up taking showers in the dark. What they REALLY need is a sign that says quiet hours on the garden patio.
Sink in room. Old building. Old elevator. One plug beside the bed and it was completely awkward to reach.
We were so hot and staff was not helpful at all.
My room with a window and views was the perfect size for one person--second floor front of building--I suggest trying to get rooms with windows whenever possible--the windows and a fan makes the room very comfortable
nice style, old but fashion, nice location, good convention with parking. very nice room
A pretty little hotel with vintage-feeling. Nice that they were serving wine and cheese in the evening.
Quite small room and the air condition was provided by a small fan. Breakfast was nothing special.
Liked the antique bed and furniture which created a cozy atmosphere. I was visiting San Francisco with my adult daughter who lives in Paso and whose boyfriend had lived in SF and had taken her to favorite restaurants. One thing that took away from the overall impression was a piece of wallpaper trim that had come loose.
Information given by the receptionist.
Size of the room, to small to be doble deluxe room. Only one sitting in the room. Mimimal room for luggage. No room to place the fan. The breakfast was terrible, far from continental. The indoor air was not good. The carpet was dirty. Wifi was slow and some times nor working. Our experiens is based on one dat stay, we cancelled the rest of the stay (8more days)
Great location, really nice personnel, comfortable, beautiful, elegant yet affordable. Pictures on the website don't capture all the beauty this hotel possesses.
I can't point out anything I didn't like.
A heavier curtain to block out the light
very good staff, free wi-fi, complimentary breakfast,
very old building, not very clean, some rooms are very narrow (like 303) but the staff helped us,
Restuarant on site
No air con or fan In need of redecoration, Lots of homeless during the day, didn't walk around at night
I was charged different rate than quoted by book.com and I would like the book.com to see to it and reimburse me the additionla unfair rate that I was charged.
The location was good, we were able to walk to most touist destinations like cable cars, fisherman warf, union square. Tenderloin is only about two blocks away so check your map if you want to avoid it. The middle aged white guy at the desk in the morning was very helpful, the other staff were nice enough but didnt male much effort. Free wine in the evening was awesome, a great start to night out.
Some strange banging noises at night, may have kept us up if we weren't already occupied
I fell down the stairs on my back, hard! Most service staff would have run to my aid, asked if I was ok, apologized...something! Your front desk woman who was working the night shift had barely blinked after turning her head back to her customer and finishing her sentence. Everyone else around me asked if I was ok and yet your own employee acted as though she could not care less. The room was great but based on this horrible customer servise experience I would not recommend to a friend.
The front desk woman laughed at me when I fell down the stairs for starters.
The location was good to explore, lots of cafes. Easy walk to Nob Hill area and Union Square. Parking garage near by. Nice wine and cheese at early evening. The room was comfortable and charming in an old world style. Free breakfast was very plain and basic. Check out the bar, Fly near by.
crazy expensive for its worth
Great decor, very stylised and interesting which gave the hotel an old fashioned feel The breakfast was good and the stylishly decorated room was an italian restaurant available in the evening hich was very convenient The location was good, not too far from Union Square, China town area, market street and the BART station at Powel Street.
The hotel was very close to union square
Very noisy hospital across the street. Room was very small
Comfortable beds with lots of pillows. Bathroom really clean and extra walk in wardrobe space
Over priced. Stayed for 4 nights and got woken up before 8am most morning with workmen doing construction work in the courtyard. Walls really thin so could also hear guests conversations and other annoyances. Carpets really need replacing and breakfast isn't worth getting up for.
