Good location, quiet.
Room was minimal - no reading lamp, desk. horrid breakfast.
Location was good, old style, nice room view
Elevator; phone didn't worked (room changed--that phone didn't work either so had to walk or take elevator to front desk when I had a question or issue
Very helpful in saving money by parking around corner(which I didn't know) Also Amish(desk clerk)very helpful on how to take transport to see the sights. Italian restaurant on sight had great food and many other high quality restaurants at reasonable prices nearby ----
The location is good to visit SF all around.
beds, TV,location, clean, complimentary coffee and wine
breakfast, we had to pay in cash when we checked in, small room no view at all no sunlight
I stayed here for 4 nights and had no issues what so ever. Room was clean, yes it was small but for one person is quiet good. Great location
Parking spaces. You will be lucky if you find one. But make sure you move your car for street sweeping. MON-WED-FRI from 6am-8am are sweeping days
Breakfast so poor. Location
The room and the staff
I found this hotel accidentally, but was attracted by it's location in first place. It couldn't be better, almost at the top of Nob Hill with countless number of everything within close walking distance. Even famous streetcar is just couple of blocks away. But the best thing for me was overall silence inside. I really appreciate that. Even though the hotel is quite old the bathroom looked brand new.
The only drawback is the lack of AC in the room, but that was not a problem in November, but might become one during summer.
We were able to check in early. Reasonable location but right on the edge of acceptable - safety?
Room small and basic Breakfast poor Breakfast room inadequate in size Lift old and therefore difficult to manage with bags
room decor was wonderful. Bed extremely comfortable. Spa bath was just what we needed. Very quiet.
Shower didn't seem to work. And no air conditioning so the room was too hot. A fan was provided though.
This little hotel has been nicely refurbished...with a good location
postage stamp size room, not air conditioned, noisy
bed sleeping, nice bed to rest.
Staff did not know where there were bus stop, or almost any other cuestion.
I liked the location And the front desk.
Breakfast was poor and the room was really tiny
The Hotel was good for what I needed and that was just a place to sleep after a networking event that was running late and I did not want to drive after
The Hotel was very old and I had a hard time trying to even find an outlet for my phone to charge. The heat was not central and looked dangerous to use. The room and everything about the hotel felt very old
The lady at the front desk was warm and welcoming. The room was clean, the bed was OK, you could take a good relaxing shower too. The location was convenient.
The pictures are definitely misleading, we couldn't believe that it's the same hotel that we booked once we got there. Everything in the room was very very old and not appealing, the room was too small and no desk, not enough power outlets. The breakfast was kinda disappointing, just coffee, toast, butter, milk and oatmeal. They don't have any staff for breakfast. The WiFi was absolutely useless. It was not at all worth the price.
My boyfriend and I travelled for the marathon. I love the classic style and feel of this place. My only issue is during our last night there was a bug in the bathroom and I was a little freaked out about that but overall the value and location was great!
Good hotel with a nice touch of victorian style. Good location, clean hotel. Complimentary vine and cheese every evening.
The look of the hotel was nice. It looks renew from outside and most floor were redone. Room size was ok,
No AC, poor breakfast, noisy and surrounding not the safest, few homeless around. Too may furniture in small room, with sink in the room instead of in the restroom, which was not really hygienic. Old carpet and very dark room.
Room was clean and comfortable with a lovely bathroom. Good facilities and bath robes.
Not a cheap hotel and does not have parking.
Location excellent, room small but comfortable and clean. Some reception staff excellent, some could demonstrate more concern.
Breakfast! This is not good. Absolutely nothing to prevent an immediate improvement in unappetising sliced bread, one, two slice toaster to serve a whole dining room and stale pastries. We skipped it and took breakfast elsewhere.
The neighborhood was sketchy, vehicle parking was two blocks away, noisy due to window facing the street, pictures on the web we're a bit deceiving, the bed was squeaky and there was no AC.
The hotel itself, the breakfast was mediocre. Room was good value.
