Breakfast very poor no varieties Problem with Wi-Fi. Room very small
Room was very small
My daughter and I loved the vintage feel of this hotel. It was in walking distance of many restaurants and the staff was very friendly.
The room was definitely smaller than most hotel rooms but it worked perfectly for just the two of us.
they got happy hour for free wine and the room is really comfortable.
I don't know if it's because the location, but the wifi is a bit slow
They have no own parking slots. It's expansiv if you use the parking option from the hotel.
This is a shady operation.
The hotel is very well situated and close to union square and within walking distance is many attractions. If you want to take a cab at any point it is within a 10$ to $15 taxi fare from almost all attractions in San Francisco. The building itself is old style and very well kept. They have maintained it's beautiful Victorian architecture and looks very well conserved. The rooms are tiny but beautiful and very clean. The breakfast is decent but doesn't have much... Cereal, coffee, orange juice, toasts, bananas, oranges and some sweets, that's about all, still is an option and included in the hotel price which is a plus.
Nothing really. I recommend this hotel and there's nothing bad I can think of. It's great for your money!
The location was great, most of the places were close by and we could easily walk, no need to hire a car or take public transport if you like walking. The hotel and the room were very clean. Overall the hotel is quite old. The location was safe for tourists, we didn't feel uncomfortable in that area. But I wouldn't walk around alone at night because it can get a bit uncomfy.
The breakfast was very very limited, we did not expect the breakfast to be that poor. Furthermore, the room where the breakfast was served was very small it was almost impossible to move around when there were a lot of people. There was not enough light in our room. The view from our window was not nice at all, there was a red wall and you could also glimpse in other rooms that were close by.
Made reservations at the last minute and was pleasantly surprised when I arrived. Cute hotel that was very comfortable, I loved the furnishings and the ambiance! Would definitely stay here again.
Hotel has personality, nice old-fashioned artsy decoration, good free coffee and wine. Pleasant stay.
Wi-Fi didn't work all the time. The location of the hotel is close to Tenderloin where it may be dangerous to walk.
I liked the location, the super helpful staff (specifically the lady at night! She is a fabulous!) the hotel rooms were beyond adorable and the beds are magical! There are so many cute places to hang out close by, so if you get smashed it's a close walk to the hotel... Just keep in mind it's up hill! I would love to stay here again.
I didn't know wifi was available and I didn't know I had access to the roof top patio! Other than that it was awesome!
I liked the price, very clean and friendly. Breakfast nothing special, but appreciated.
It felt old and haunted, but in a good way. Our key card wouldn't open the door till the 8th try every time, even though it was green light. It was like something was locking it, room 309. My husband noticed a chair in hall that wasn't there before in the late night. Little did I know it was one of the places on the lists of SF for being haunted. Biggest disappointment was parking and how much they charge. $45.00 yikes!!
Peace and quiet
No air conditioning so it was a discomfort at night as the weekend weather was gorgeous
Beautifully done charming room
The room was so unbearably hot. It was so uncomfortable I didnf sleep. There is no circulation what so ever. I would give it a 4 star but based solely on the air a 2.
We liked the location, and quaintness of hotel
Nice amd comfey rooms. Customer orientated Willingness to help
No air conditioning or heating system
Very nice Hotel
Charged almost $200.00 over the Booking amount. Deceived about room type. In the five day stay they did not allow me to speak with a manager to try to get the room upgrade charges waived or to see if the matter could be handled a different way.
The shower had good pressure - but the best thing was leaving.
The photos are very deceiving, the room we were given was best described as a shoebox. The bathroom was only slightly smaller than the actual room. However,I could handle the size if it wasn't so stuffy and hot, it was like a sauna with no temperature control. The window could be opened but we were not comfortable leaving it open overnight as it led to the fire escape. The bed was small, and the mattress sunk in the middle, so much so it wasn't comfortable for 2 adults. My partner slept on the floor for 3 out of 4 nights. Definitely not worth the money. They lump 2 different taxes on top of the already unjustifiably high price. The wine and cheese they boast is laughable. Cubes of cheese and vinegar tasting wine. Never again.
Bad customer service, and dirty room. We found a cockroach under the refrigerator! They did not say sorry about that! Do not trust the images they posted on their website. I will tell all my friends do not choose nob hill holtel!
Clean. Staff is friendly and helpful. Overall decent, but not outstanding.
Room is quite small, and a bit pricey. Location is a bit outside of the more interesting parts.
Very comfy bed. Couldn't hear any noise from other rooms (5th floor). Plush furnishings (makes a change from motel style lodgings!). The valet parking is a bit expensive ($35 ish) but the staff can / will direct you to a public car park 3 mins away that costs $20.
The man on Reception is not very enthusiastic / friendly / welcoming (shame, as it's such an easy thing to fix and first impressions last!). The breakfast is basic and runs from 7-9am. This might be normal timing for Americans but be warned Europeans on holiday - you won't be getting a lie-in! This was the second or third hotel in the USA that we've experienced this with, so it must be normal over there..?! Shame, as some people don't want to get up as if it were a work day. You have to pay extra for parking. Parking is pricey in San Fran.
Upon arriving the front desk staff upgraded our room for no charge - we didn't even have to ask.
Breakfast was free but you might be better off going something more substantial.
Fair location + quiet room. I
Too much Victoriana
