Location, staff were very friendly views from the rooftop, able to emerge oneself in the atmosphere of New York from the rooftop fabulous place to stay

Rooms tiny but so are most hotel rooms in NYC

The staff is extremely polite, professional, helpful and friendly. They remember you by name. The rooms are very comfortable for their size, very modern and clean. The hotel's ambience, while trendy and modern, remains unpretentious and warm - great choice of music. The small size of the overall hotel (55 rooms) allows them to take good care of their guests. Nice location (SoHo, NoLita, Chinatown). Easy to get around by foot, and to various subway stations. Amenities include the free use of laptops/iPads, umbrellas, bicycles, and skateboards. Would definitely return to the Nolitan in the future.

The continental breakfast was a bit lacking in variety (when you eat it every day). The rooftop terrace was pretty bare - some plastic plants could be added to make it more inviting. The shower's water temperature wasn't really responsive (took a while to get the right temperature). On the 8th floor, the hotel's Wi-Fi network wasn't strong enough (only one bar out of four reached).

I always forget when in Canada how great customer service is in the US. Now I can add this reminder of top customer service to the Nolitan Hotel in NYC. From start to finish the level of service and responsiveness of staff at all levels was unparalled. Thank you and look forward to staying again and to referring our friends to your hotel. Fixtures and design of the hotel was new and modern. Very neat and tidy layout of our room. Staff was excellent.

Furniture in the restaurant. It was decorated nicely but chairs and tables were cheap and uncomfortable. Bar stools looked very uncomfortable as well. We had breakfast there every morning and it was excellent but the furniture was enough to keep us away for other meals.

Wine and cheese lovely evening service. Great to meet the staff and guests. Staff all v helpful and interested in your day. Love the toiletries and noted they were from a local shop. Actually bought some body wash. Lovely product.

No tea and coffee facilities in the room. Shame the restaurant is yet to offer room service breakfast in bed was on my wish list. Will be fantastic when the roof top bar is open. I would be mindful to keep it to mostly guests to keep the four star exclusive feel of the hotel.

Great location, staff very friendly

Kenmare's a busy street, a lot of traffic, a lot of honking, in the weekend till deep into the night, so even when I was on the 7th floor and was given a 'quiet room', it was hard to really sleep.

About the room, it is a bit small considering the price, but it's very clean and stylish. I love the bed and comforter. Although we have a balcony, the street view is not attractive. The view on the roof is superb, and you can get on the roof directly by elevator. The doorman, Dochi, is cute and friendly.

Though the location is near soho, the nearby subway j trian is always under construction, so public transportation is not that convenient. Kenmare street is very busy even if in midnight, so it is a little bit noisy. And I don't know why there is always honk. The air con fan is astonishly noisy. Therefore we heated up the room and then turned it off during sleeping. Continential breakfast is not impressive: few choices.

Continental breakfast very poor value at $12.00. Very poor food selection, no fruit, no cold meats. A La Carte available but very expensive.

The location is wonderful.

The view from the room was amazing. Even while taking a shower you could see the Empire State Building! The location was fab, the staff amazingly helpful, and there was free popcorn and cheese & wine in the afternoon. The restaurant had wonderful food and great choice. It also had a creative & different touch to most hotels which made it a wonderful experience, e.g. there was a yoga mat in the room :-) It will def become my first choice for NY visits in the future.

The rooms are very small and we both kept knocking against furniture. It also might make an extended stay difficult as there isn't really anywhere to unpack or put the cases away.

comfortable bed, nice simple decor. lovely slippers and bathrobe. well stocked mini bar. pleasant staff. evening drinks. I stay at many hotels mainly 5 star so i liked this simple hotel. it had everything i needed for my stay.

i would rate the comfort 'excellent' but have put 'fair' only because the aircon was very noisy and kept swirching on and off and keeping me awake or waking me up. also i arrived with no toothpaste and there was none in the room.

very, very Noisy

We loved everything about the Nolitian. The staff was great, the rooms were very comfortable, and the location was perfect for us. If you are looking for a neighborhood hotel and the vibrancy of 'old New York' this is the place to stay. Wonderful small restaurants and cute shops without the crowds or commercialization of Soho. It is located at the juncture of Chinatown, Little Italy, and Nolita. This is a working neighborhood which gives it a richness you won't find in midtown. We searched high and low for a place that would feel like a home away from home, and the Nolitian definitely fit the bill. The only thing we didn't like about the hotel was that we had to leave it

You will find larger, more traditional rooms in midtown. The shower has glass on two sides. It does give the room the illusion of being larger than it is, but I was traveling with my 16 year old daughter and I think she would have liked a little more privacy. That said, there is a curtain that blocks the shower from the bedroom so it was not really an issue. It just took her by surprise. She would not have choosen to stay elsewhere, but the modern design caught her off guard. If you like large rooms or if you are large people, this may not be the place for you, or you may want to spring for the pricier rooms. But we enjoyed our room very much and compared to many ny boutique hotels, we found the rooms quite spacy.

Excellent location we appreciated the atmosphere in the Nolita neighborhood with many cozy cafés nextdoor. Comfortable room functional and clean.

Rather loud heating / air conditioning system

Perfect location, staff and balance between leaving you to enjoy your stay and being super helpful when you need them. Lovely touches like macaroons beside the bed at night and brolly's, bikes etc available to use. We also received a lovely surprise bottle of champagne for my bf's 30th birthday with greetings from the hotel staff. Fabulous all round, we couldn't recommend more highly. Ticked all boxes in terms of location to subway, restaurants, shops and amazing views to midtown. Thanks Nolitan for making our stay so special.
