Convenient to our travel needs in San Rafael.
Noisy rooms, poor parking, next to highway, poor breakfast, a very tired facility. Staff need to learn to smile - when interacting I felt like we were bothering them.
The staff was very helpful and pleasant. The room had everything we needed.... refrig, microwave, coffee pot, alarm clock, hair dryer. Very nice shower with shampoo and soap despencers.
Very small parking lot.
The bed was very comfortable.
The parking lot is very small and hard to navigate in a large truck. It appears to be near water but there is no water visible.
It was close to the bus center. The staff was very accommodating. The place was clean. The coffee shop behind it gave the best coffee!
The curtain was torn. A drawer refused to close. No swimming pool. Not close to good restaurants.
staff was rude and seemed put out to have guests. people arguing at night in the parking lot. rooms 100 feet from the freeway.
Our King suite (king bed plus a sofa sitting area) was very comfortable and roomy. I was afraid it would be noisy because of the highway 101 and busy frontage road right next to the hotel, but the room was very quiet. Oftentimes hotels in this price range have loud and clunky air conditioners, but this one had a quiet and very functional air conditioner. The TV was flat screen (nice again) and there was a fridge (another plus). Anita (front desk staff person) was extremely helpful, kind, patient and is a huge asset to that hotel's efficiency. I heard her on the phone with someone trying to book a room and she was great. I also had a problem with my booking (all my fault), but Anita took care of me. There is a great coffee shop right next to the property. My husband and I agreed we would stay there again.
The parking is very tight and the breakfast is fairly skimpy - but for the money, this was a great deal.
Park car outside room, quiet (no traffic noise at all), comfortable beds, table with chairs, good shower, large flat TV. Good coffee cafe next store for morning wake up.
The front desk asked to photocopy my driver's license during checkin (never had to do that anywhere I have ever stayed!?).
Price paid for 3 stars for a 2 stars motel
quiet, clean, not too much light through window, bed comfortable
ceiling CFC light flashed while off - had to remove bulb; shower nozzle way to high for low-flow so not enough pressure to rinse shampoo out of hair
The air conditioner was quiet.
We reserved a room with a king size bed but our room, despite being a king room, had a queen size bed, which was disappointing.
Good jumping off place for Muir Woods or taking the Larkspur ferry to San Fran.
Basic place to sleep. No breakfast to speak of. Also no tissues in the room.
This hotel is a stone's throw from the freeway. I'd that didn't keep you awake, you could hear every toilet next to you or above you flushing and refilling. We checked in at 5 pm and then went to dinner. When we got back a couple hours later, there was NO parking. We were told that we could park at the coffee shop next to it, but at 7 am we were called and told to move it, and a nasty note was attached to the window. This is a bad part of town. There were two men loitering when we got back for the night. I was surprised the vehicle was still there in the morning. Spend a little more and be worrying all night.
Clean. Well kept and modern with all necessary for business traveler.
Room smelled funny.
The only real highlight was the bed, it was clean, of good quality, and slept well.
There's limited to no parking: went to a convenience store at 10:30p.m., and had to park on a side street nearly two blocks away. This made for a worrisome night, being the motel isn't located in a good part of San Rafael. As for the WiFi, that's as was non existent - password given doesn't work.
Clean, good value.
Little noisy close to highway
Very noisy, high ways are next to the hotel. Very poor and plastic breakfast
Very low end experience. Awful neighborhood. Industrial. A low rent motel parading as a quality hotel. No amenities. Everything is done on the cheap. Not a hint of charm. Okay if you are looking for something serviceable. We were expecting much more based on the reviews and were very disappointed. We checked out the next morning. Consider yourself forewarned.
Nice staff, easy location, good wireless, comfortable bed - I'd recommend if nothing else is available and one's standards are not high
adequate, but not great shower, keys malfunctioned several times, small sink space for toiletries
Nice clean hotel with a great coffee shop next door.went there for the Indy Car races and got a added bonus of an earthquake.at the 580 and the 101 interchange.
The bed was extremely comfortable and the room was clean.
A little overpriced but not outrageous for the area. Barely enough parking spaces.
I found it to be a comfortable, clean and handy location for the area. James Elburn, Il
The room was clean, bed was comfortable, very quiet at night. A good room for the price.
The staff was unfriendly and rude. We arrived around 12:15p as the check-in time on our reservation was 12p. We walked in and the woman rudely said "you cannot check in" and proceeded to talk to someone on the phone. We stood there for 5 minutes waiting till she got off (mind you it was a personal call) and I asked why did my reservation say I could check in at noon but now I can't? She finally said that no rooms were ready and she would call us in 45 minutes. We had to leave and wonder around for the next hour waiting. Don't tell someone they can check in at noon if you don't have the rooms available. Simple as that. The only issue with the room was the toilet. It was on the fritz. Sometimes would flush, sometimes wouldn't. We fixed it ourselves. And the breakfast in the morning is a quick grab and go, didn't eat anything from there. Upon checking out, I asked for the bill and she again said "No." I again asked for the bill to be printed out (as I did not trust what the final bill would be) and she said "a copy will be emailed to you"...which it never was. Buyer beware.
It seems the room had been recently remodeled. The bathroom was very clean. The color scheme was earthy tones and the furniture was marble topped and very nice.
The room had an unpleasant odor that instantly gave an unfair assessment of the room. It smelled as if it had been a smoking room for years and the smell could not be gotten rid of. Also, I found 2 pieces of chocolate donut in the coffee station. I had expected a possible bay view from the name but it is located just off the freeway and looks like it.
Highway noise Breakfast was a joke - you can get a better breakfast at a gas station And my reservation was messed up
