Wasted 45 mins in line to check in
After waiting 10 mins for an elevator, we lugged all our stuff to the room.
Got to room and in addition to it being incredibly dusty and dingy with filthy carpets, floors, and furniture, two of the beds were obviously broken. There was a 2ft difference between foot and head and one was leaning to one side.
Had to wait another 45 mins for an engineer to come and verify that indeed the beds were as I described. He found the box springs were completely broken apart and went ahead and called a bellman to move us to another room. About 30 mins later, he showed up. He moved us to another room with assembled bed springs but again the room was filthy (carpets, upholstery, every surface had grimey prints on them). And best of all the bedding was not changed from the previous guest!!! There was hair, stains, lint, etc... So we called and asked for new sheets. They said they'd send someone up. Two hours later, no new bedding. Called again and they said THiS time, they'll come. Another 30 mins and no bedding. Called again and they were closed. Slept on our beach towels that night. They finally came mid afternoon the second day and did a "VIP cleaning" which meant they changed the sheets. Also the lights on he bathroom were out the entire stay. I called 3 times and they were never fixed. We asked for a refund for the first night and got $20 refunded (that was the value of cleaning fee). If I wanted more, she said, I'd have to talk to the manager- who was not available until two days after we checked out. (What???) Overheard several guests at the pool and in the elevators discussing similar complaints.
