Staff was very generous and helpful and the rooms where clean. Everything was a little small, but the hotel's at a great location for not too much money. Wireless Internet was slow. Room was small.

Though the hotel wasn't very nice, the rooms were cleann and some of the hotel staff was really helpfull. The Hotel didn't look like on the pictures. It was filled with odd people, which looked homeless and sick. It seemd to me like they where living in this place for months, so I felt like in a shelter.

Nice room, small but quiet. Comfortable. Atmosphere sth else than an impersonal hotel chain. Shared shower could have been cleaned more often. If you want your room to be cleaned you need to fill in a note at the reception.

Can't beat the price! The room was a little dingy and it smelled like smoke (even though it was a nonsmoking room). But clean, awesome location, convenient to have microwave and fridge in the room. Walls are thin so you can hear everyone getting in at night (didn't really bother me but would definitely be a problem for a light sleeper). There were some shady people hanging out when I first checked in. But I totally felt safe (as a female traveling alone) for the duration of my stay. There were a couple nights that I had the room reserved but didn't plan to be there (would rather pay to keep the room than have to move my stuff out for a couple days). I asked if my brother-in-law could stay while I was away. He lives in outside the city and wanted to catch a concert in the city and crash there. They said no. I thought that was a little silly...but I guess that's their policy.

Good location within the City Centre. Closeby many attractions & amenities. Free wifi. On check out they let you leave your luggage securely cared free of charge. Toilets are shared with really bad cleaning standards. 4 toilets per floor, 60 rooms per floor... Poor ratio. Remarkably bad value for money: ultra expensive.

Location was great! Near Financial Dist. and North Beach Dist. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The Wi-Fi was easy to use. Rooms are small but they are comfortable and great for the price.

Room was clean but tiny. Good location. More checks need to be carried out in the shared toilets. Tried to check out early (no problem with the hotel, we just had a family emergency and needed to leave) but cldnt get online to do so, this was not the hotel but booking.com's fault and the hotel wouldn't let us check out over the phone. They eventually gave us one night payment back when we should have gotten 4 nights back!

I stay here regularly when I work in San Francisco. I feel safe and secure here. Understand this is a budget hotel. So though everything is in OK condition, quarters are cramped and restrooms shared. Oh, the worse thing--San Francisco sucks for Parking--build that into your budget at at least $18 a day.

Perfect location and cheap. Close to Chinatown and same distance to downtown and the beach. Both around 15 to 20 min by feed. Really enjoyed my time here.

This Hotel was like luxury after spending one night in the Europa hotel up the street. Staff were pleasant and helpful. The facilities were excellent. They provided top brand Toothpaste, Shampoo and Conditioner and breath Right patched in your room. This was great if you forgot to pack some basics. Location was superb, located in Downtown and only 10-15 min walk to most of San Fran's top attractions! The WiFi was extremely slow (it was like been back on Dialup!). Mattress was very lumpy.

I really enjoyed the decoration inside the hotel. It was quant, old fashion. There was an adorable phone booth outside our door, and the prices were very reasonable. The maids always made sure to leave fresh towels in our hotel room, and cleaned while we were away. The staff is friendly and communicative. The views were wonderful and the hotel is located about twenty minutes walking distance from all the major shopping areas, and the area is well lit for walking at night. We had a room that was right next to the street, and it was difficult to fall asleep at night, but then again it is San Francisco. There were shared bathrooms but they were always clean. I didn't enjoy that the information for paying for the hotel was written in very small print on their website because it led to some stressful situations involving money and planning.

I had to step up the itinerary of my trip by two days. Although I didn't get the same room class/price, the day manager worked with me over the phone to get a room booked. When I arrived, the (same?) manager noted that we had one small child, and changed the room to accomodate, without changing the price. There is a sink in the room, as well as a mini-fridge, for those who wish to stay more than overnight. The hotel is right next to chinatown, within 5 mins walking distance from many restaurants in north beach, and we walked from the hotel to Pier 39 (~40 mins). Coit tower is nearby (20 minute walk), as are union station and market street (20 minute walk). Parking is nearby (2 min walk) at portsmouth square, and the 8x express runs throughout the day to the pier. If you're on the street side, there is considerable traffic noise from kearny and columbus streets.

It was cheap and clean. Near lots of good Vietnamese restaurants. Very friendly staff. It could be pretty loud in the room, and the beds are too short for me.
